@GraveLordXD im interested in the survival aspect part, im mainly a RPG guy, mostly obsidian type of rpgs. To be honest i haven't really been using my WiiU i only have bayonetta, star fox zero and mario kart. Thats why im interested in zelda, of course i have heard of the past games before but never really had any motivation to try any before BOTW. Just wasn't very impressed with the trailer. It was just my impression that maybe if Nintendo wants to expand its user base beyond its usual market then that trailer failed to do such thing. Im not saying the game will be bad, it may well be a masterpiece, im just saying that for me going in blind, it did not impress. Thats why im waiting for the reviews.
@GraveLordXD for the nth time. I have no past experience with zelda. The WiiU is my firat Nintendo console. Been a PC only gamer since the 90s before getting a ps4 and wiiu
@GraveLordXD so you knit-pick? I was talking about the initial reveal six montha ago!! If your commenting without looking into the context of Why i made the comment then what the poop is the sense of this conversation? Whats your purpose? To feel superior? To get your internet rocks off?
@GraveLordXD ill say it again. For those of us who have no background with zelda (at that time i got a wiiu as my first nintendo console) the initial trailer of the BOTW is not very impressive. All we have as a barometer is the visuals because we have no experience with the game. The trailer showed an ugly forest, barren fields, it lacks little details that give a virtual world life. So what aspect of the trailer would you think would impress gamers like me? The mountain climing part???
@GraveLordXD i said "technically" better looking not talking about the art style. Also wtf are you ranting about? I opened up the issue of graphics of the witcher 3 because the trailer is not very impressive graphically for those who doesnt have any past experience with zelda. It wont wow. Im talking about the initial reveal trailer back then.
@GraveLordXD of course its on pc, i play on PC but i have seen and played the PS4 version. Its around the mid setting of the PC. it still is technically miles better looking than BOTW.
I kinda disgaree that older gamers tend to like objective based and structured games over than open world type of gameplay. Its not about age, maybe you just grew up with those kinda games. There are those of us who grew up playing openworld games during the 90s such as the ultima series, baldurs gate, ice wind dale, the early fallout games, elde scroll setirs etc etc. open style of gameplay basically started in the 90s
@ballistic90 @Kyosaii it doesnt scale like that. Resolution is not that GPU intensive. You also have to take into account lighting, shadows, draw, post processing effects, these are the one who hog the GPU
@Detriment-hip-ho and what else? Any news of current upcoming AAA games coming? Seems like all those announced are Old games that aren't really that graphically intensive
@Pahvi it doesn't scale like that. You are only talking about resolution. Resolution doesnt really impact GPU resources that much. What impacts GPU performace are the lighting, shadows, post processing and other effects. In my experience when lowering resolution in PC games, mostly you get a bump of FPS at around 2-3 FPS and thats it.
@Grez as stated in the article, people must have tempered expectations. Most likes it will get some AAA games that are not graphically intensive but mostly it will again be a Nintendo machine
@KirbyTheVampire either they wont come or they will be downgraded versions. In the end it was really foolish for some to expect close to xbox one performance with the X1.
I dont think it would have been that successful if Nintendo made it first. Minecraft didn't become the juggernaut that it is today by just it's gameplay. It became successful due to the internet, community and modding support as well as the ability to run on a broad range of playforms. If Nintendo ever created it first it will lack nearly all the things that made it viral, it would be very restricted.
@shani you must be misunderstanding how market share work. The increase in the value of Nintendo stocks didnt give Nintendo any profit. All those shares have already been sold to stock holders, Nintendo will only profit from the increase if theu have still unsold shares stocks which is unlikely since Nintendo havent announced any release of new shares nor plans to increase their capital stocks.
The ones who benefited from the increase are the traders not nintendo. So you cant really focus on nintendo gaining a healthy profit since they didnt profit from it in the first place
@NodesforNoids but you said left the in the dust? You didnt really clarify where? Performance wise NVIDIA chips are consistently better, Driver support NVIDIA still out performs AMD, market share wise (despite AMD cornering the console market) NVIDIA controls almost 80%, Thats 80 freakin percent of the total GPU market.
So for you just because AMD managed to snare the console market and shield failed = NVIDIA being left to dust.
Im not an elitists im just pointing out that your comment is incorrect.
@JaxonH what i take from this is Nintendo retreating. In essence what is happening here is nintendo is deliberately shrinking its business. It doesnt really mean that since the home console and handheld is merged that Nintendos output will be the combination of both since you only have a limited market to sell that output to and therefore your output will also be limited to fit that market.
Most likely another reorg will take place next financial year to streamline their business which means redundant positions will be cut, divisions will be shrunked to appropriate levels. Basically right now Nintendo is to big for just 1 product.
@starman292 your assuming that that Sonic game is graphics intensive. Its like saying that NX is as powerful as the PS4 since both of them can run just dance
To those dreaming that NX(if it is indeed a handheld) can achieve PS4 level graphics, you must understand that though Tegra X1 or X2 can achieve high levels of visuals what limits it is heat, always HEAT, ever wonder why Xbox1 or PS4 is so large? Its because of heat. Ever tried to over clock a GPU or CPU? What limits your overclocking? Correct! Its heat. So unless the NX portable somehow has a revolutionary heat displacement system or a large enough case then no matter how great the GPU is then it cannot throttle itself to PS4 levels.
In my opinion regardless of what chip they use, the NX portable can only achieve up to a slightly better PS3 or a suped up vita.
@aaronsullivan it may have, i just want some people here to realize that Tegra X2 does not really automatically equal PS4 graphics since you have to factor heat and energy allowances.
In my opinion regardless of what chip they use, it may only achieve up to a slightly stronger PS3 level. Like a suped up Vita.

@GraveLordXD no prob man. I think the person i was replying to edited his original post so you may not have read what he said initially. Anyway i did say it looked good just not "blown away" kind of good.
@GraveLordXD thats not the issue. My comment started when one persob commented the he doesnt understand why people are not "blown away" by the visuals. I was responding to that comment. Hence most will not be blown away by the visuals because there are better looking open world games out there.
@GraveLordXD the drab textures, the sparse environmetal objects, place holder like trees, pop ups. I mean its not an ugly game but come on! you cant sell the game to non fans on visuals alone. There has been other better looking open world games out there.
@BrownGamer4 because theres a caveat that it's beautiful for a WiiU game. Many gamers from outside of Nintendo has been accustomed to better visuals for a couple of years now. Thats why not many are "blown away" by the visuals outside the Nintendo fanbase
@TerrapinJess why would i get mad. Were just having a conversation. Anyway oh dont get me wrong i find it beautifull too. I have a soft spot for cell shades games.
@TerrapinJess i guess your comment was aimed at me. Look im not saying the game looks bad its just that you cant put the game in a vacuum. To those who are not Nintendo only gamers or first time zelda players, you cant expect them to be flabergasted with the visuals of the game when there are other games out there that looks much better.
For example this is from the Witcher 3. Its also open world. Coming from that game it will be hard to be super impressed with BOTWs visuals.
Im not saying that the game will be bad. Im just saying that based on the demo it will be a hard sell to those who have no nostalgia or any investment on the game
Just to be clear, im talking about initial impression here
@Al_Godoy love the witcher 3! Im playing blood and wine right now. I think the Witcher 3 might have ruined zelda for me especially in side quests quality as well as visuals.
@GrailUK not really that vibrant, look at the visual environments of other open world games such as witcher 3 or even the old skyrim, compared to them the terrain and environment of BOTW seems lacking. Im not dismissing the game but coming from a PC background, the zelda reveal on the visual front seems a little bit...meh

@abbyhitter skyrim remastered can even run on my GTX 570, albiet with some compromises. Skyrim isn't really a poster boy for cutting edge benchmark.
