@Dman10 building is optional. Most basic builds to make progress in the game will be pretty obvious by the materials that are sitting around. These things are just extra.
Unfortunately the Neo Geo wasn't terribly popular in North America, and although I am old enough to remember it, I am also old enough to remember it as sort of a "flop" here stateside. Consoles sat in stores and I knew nobody who bought one. Within a few years they weren't anywhere to be found... Now with the recent popularity of retro games of course I've seen retro consoles touting Neo Geo games, but from this angle I don't even know these games. I am one of the people who yelled at the screen, "Who?" when Terry was announced. Maybe that's why many people don't know him. Thanks for the education!
I spy with my little eye a reason to have 2-4 switch systems in a single household! This alone could merit (and drive sales for) a Switch mini or pro or both.
@Kungfunaomi you make a smart point. While this is NOT what I would want, it does remind me of what Sony did to the Vita. They removed the screen so it was a TV only device. I could actually see Nintendo going this route. They could sell it with 2 regular size (possibly new colors) joy con and a grip, or a pro controller.
WOW! When the Nintendo Switch was first announced, I, like many others, dreamed of what great games could come to the new hybrid console. Descent was at the top of my list! I couldn't be more pleased, now it just has to happen (instead of getting lost in an endless cycle of delays). I am glad that they developers are sticking with the narrative approach that really seems to honor the original's intent. Oh! and I noticed on the trailer that the mechanic of escaping a mine as it explodes is still in tact.
OK, now guys we just need the Tmesplitters reboot (or trilogy) and Bioshock trilogy...
Hmm... This could be the next evolution for the DS. I imagine playing with 2 4'' touch screens attached and then detaching them and giving one to a friend to play multiplayer. Kinda like the joy con.
@FX102A to me it looks like the joy con are meant to be removed to play. it doesn't look like they're slotted in there securely, but I could be wrong...
@dumedum Just my point. We need to be asking questions rather than making assumptions. I wonder how the people close to her view her. Do they think that she has a problem?
@Zuljaras I guess then the question becomes 'is this a defect.' Psychology, and particularity abnormal psychology is a field that is ever evolving and changing the way 'abnormal' and 'normal' is defined. Life is really fascinating
To all commenters who say she has a mental illness: It is important to remember that in order for something to be considered a mental illness it must create "significant impairment" in functioning. At this point we don't really know if this qualifies. It may qualify on the addiction side of things (some of us play games just as much), but just because something is weird doesn't mean that the person has a mental illness. Just a few decades ago homosexuality was classified as a mental health disorder and there are still people who believe that it can be "cured." They were so wrong about that, so it makes me pause and think about these emerging sexuality forms which may be real. On the other hand she may just be joking the same way that any of us may say, "I love this so much I think I'm going to marry it."
I totally agree! I loved this game on the Wii and when the Wii U was announced one of my first thoughts was, "will it be backward compatible and will I be able to play Excite Truck on it?" I've been hoping ever since for a sequel.
I really don't know how meaningful this is. Within the context of the squid culture what are the norms? Do inklings consider an 18 year old to be an adult? We keep misrepresenting our cultural norms as theirs. How long do Inklings live? I don't even want to go into questions of how they reproduce. National Geographic may have some answers for those of you who are interested in squid lifestyles.
I wonder if this is a case where the people at Valhalla game studios drew their own logo and thought it looked so good because they had seen the other logo. Perhaps the connection was unconscious and they did not realize their mistake.
My idea may fit into a new game mode or may be something that can stretch across modes. I have been noticing the vending machines on Splatoon plaza and I know for now they are simply decorative, but since the game has come out (day 1 purchase for me!) I have wondered about using the vending machines for 1 time use items. These items would have special effects on a match to change up the rules and each playr could chose only 1 then lose the item from their inventry. My ideas have included things like: adding :15 to a match (per item used) taking :15 from a match (per item used) giving your team a head start (5% of the field inked in your color at the start) Adding 1 scrubber to the level (atracted to enemy ink) Adding an item box to the level (respawns random and immediate use by either team).
My other idea for an entirely NEW game mode might be called "FLUDD mode." In this mode 1 team uses colored ink as normal, but the other team uses water ONLY to CLEAR the enemy ink (like in SM Sunshine!). The inking team would be trying to make a % goal, while the FLUDD team is trying to keep them under that goal.
I guess I am one of those people who has been waiting for specific games and just wondering when?? The games in question for me are the GB Final Fantasy games. They were a collection that kept me playing my Gameboy until the screen completely went out. When that happened, as you can imagine, I had no use for the physical cart anymore and they are no longer around. Well, I guess some lucky Ebayer wil get my money now.
I know that this isn't a Nintendo published game, but it may be a good step towards the inevitable 3D Mario Maker. Any success they have with this and mistakes they make can be looked at by Nintendo to create a great 3DMM experience for us in the next console generation.
I couldn't agree more about the "don't touch" courses. Maybe they could have a separate category?
Also, my game updated automatically, it was there already this morning.
Here is my newest level. It's a challenge, it can be beaten quickly if you figure out how to skip some of the level. This makes it kind of a puzzle level in a way. I am very proud of this one.
