Where is the DLC conversation coming from? Going with the N64 rule set is entirely different than Super Mario Party, going with classic minigames is throwing away the joycon focus of Super and overall, I'd rather have DLC for this than Super. Very hopeful for this game and 3 boards have been revealed; the cover art depicts the woods board from Mario Party 3
I'm the insane person that wanted to have everything unlocked so I've been playing each Grand Prix, grinding coins and nitro where I've completed every bar, have every decal on the Champion kart and been slowly chipping away the alternate colors. The game should have totally reduced the coin prices, they totally had sh*tty microtransactions and I dont recommend anyone playing a game as long as I've done here (Think around 400+ hours)
That said, I'm glad of everything that was added. There was clear love for Crash all throughout this from adding the entire cast of the original trilogy and hell, the first thing I've ever seen to celebrate post Naughty Dog Crash. All together there is so much content that I really hope Mario Kart 9 takes what Crash did right into consideration from the expansive character list, track list and the wealth of kart customization. If the game didnt have such blatant microtransactions, I feel this game would be viewed a lot better, but as it stands, this could very well be my favorite or second favorite kart racer against Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I will say though, I am happy the only money I spent on this game is the $5 Firehawk for charity purposes. You really can unlock everything without spending and hopefully the end of GPs will allow everyone to get all the past content without time limits to it. Still, with finishing Cindered Shadows right now, this will be the end of the two big games of 2019 for me as I look forward to 2020...where man I hope theres a Direct soon lol
I voted Edelgard, Dimitri, Claude. Why? Because for a Nintendo blog that usually stays neutral during all the internet drama, way to keep trying to throw kindling to the fire. Joke not funny and hoping you guys were better than this
This will definitely be probably the most divisive game Nintendo has made in awhile...I like Mario Kart Tour. Took me like 10 mins to get used to the controls, got a lot easier when I realized you dont tap to jump which you actually jump automatically. I've done every task so far and other than like 6 Grand Stars, I literally got 5 stars on everything with Toadette. Yes, in races where she gets 1 item. With not the best equipment too.
Is there greedy tactics in Mario Kart Tour? Yes, the gold pass is a joke and honestly, like any gatcha game, the goal is not to unlock everything. Yes, you might not get your favorite racer, but the game is completely doable with anyone. I started using Shy Guy, a character I got from a ruby pull who has low stats and I can still get 5 stars on a race. If you try to get everything, you will waste tons of money, but if you play it leisurely, there are good ideas here. Special items from Double Dash need to come back in a main game, I like how the remix courses to make the small amount of them have variety and it is satisfying to get a frenzy. I agree with the 7/10, I wont probably spend anything on this game since well I dont think this game needs it. It's just a fun mobile game to play when bored...and I need to adopt this not spending practice for Pokemon Go and Fire Emblem Heroes lol
There is a big debate whether this means theres an Astral Chain/Three Houses character coming cause they got no spirits, but where I'm not sure on Astral Chain, could work as the game was beloved and adds another Platinum rep, I'm really thinking FE has a shot cause the 2nd DLC wave did not confirm more stages are accompanying them, Three Houses was also very beloved and Sakurai is a massive Fire Emblem fan. The fact Three Houses was skipped on a very easy Spirit Event (Byleth, Edelgard, Dimitri, Claude), doesn't sound right. Overall, would be happy as I love Fire Emblem, hopefully could improve people liking the roster due to half of it is the Marthtastic Four and yes it is one of the more bloated franchises in Smash yet Phirana Plant and Incineroar were added, I dont care at this point
@PLATINUM7 I really hope that's true cause where this game is already insane with its fan service, those 3 characters are really the only missing elements from the original trilogy. Overall still adore this game and looking forward to these
Looking forward to it and where idk who I'd personally want added, I think there are still plenty of characters people would want like Jiren and Hercule
I'm gonna be completely honest, I'm buying the Fighters Pass the minute I get the game physically. The DLC of Smash 4 impressed me. It made love Roy all over again after I got over him being cut in Brawl, Cloud is incredibly fun to use and although Lucas, Ryu, Mewtwo, Corrin and Bayonetta aren't among my mains at all, they were all developed very well and felt like significant additions to the game. I know I'm not getting Isaac this time around and I have no idea who thought Phirana Plant was a good idea, but I know itll still have the same polish the rest of the roster has. I might get no one I want (Hell, my favorite new character is an Echo; Richter), but will still support Sakurai and his team for all the effort they put in. As for who I hope for, I'm leaning towards Banjo, Bandana Dee, Sora, Saki and just cause I cant think of a 5th and going towards childhood, Ephraim, but Geno, Tails, Ryu Hayabusa, Rayman and Chorus Kids would be good for fans
Honestly, I still feel like more games is better and a backlog of games is what you make of it. In the time that we have, of course we're not gonna be able to play through every single game, but the games that captivate our interest the most drives us to them. I have a massive backlog for when the time comes that I want to play the game, I can play it. I got Luigi's Mansion and being a cowardly kid, I didnt play it until 5 years later where it has become one of my favorite games on the GameCube. Hell, I just recently beat Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn which I had that game for 10 years. If anything, I need to get out of a funk where after I'm done work and all my responsibilities, I usually tend to napping or just watching YouTube. Overall, just play what'll make you happy, whether it is old or new, because there will be a time and place for any game you wanna get to/finish. Me? Just finally started Professor Layton and the Curious Village and damn, that game is good lol
I'd honestly agree with all of these. I think Crash only has a shot if Activision wants in on Smash Bros, but judging their rocky relationship, I'd doubt it. Sora only if Sakurai wants another out of left field appearance, but I think if there is a 2nd Square rep, Geno has way more of a chance and honestly, I know hed never get in, but I'd only want Raichu for nostalgia purposes. When I was a kid, my cousin would tell me there was a Gameshark code to unlock Raichu and Charizard in Smash 64. Of course fake, but with Charizard making the roster, itd make that childhood myth a reality. Still, solid list and...I'm in the camp that Waluigi is not in. If theres another Smash Bros, yes, without a doubt, hes managed to become the new Ridley, but the game is just about done, the roster is probably fully decided with DLC uncertain and still show him prominently as an Assist Trophy. Waluigi will not be in Smash Ultimate
Where is the whole no more stages thing coming from? Doesn't the six empty slots on the stage select seem off? Feel like they are new ones since there is only 4 new atm. Either just a new stage or tied to a newcomer. Lastly, I dont think Monster Hunter is a stage...its too weird they only show one player at a time there...
I am very confused. Yes, you no longer weaken Pokemon to catch them, but I also noticed that Pokemon have Levels, not CP. There are legitimate trainer battles, not endlessly tapping to win. Why again is everyone hating on this? Is it cause they announced another Pokemon game for next year, so this one is just garbage. Change something about Pokemon and bring on the torches. Actually very interested in this game, eager to learn more.
Kinda amazed on not only how many people easily side with Nintendo on this, but also apparently miss the fact that it isn't down, just his videos and Patreon. Feels like the opposite reaction to AM2R, but overall just a weird world. Where people are so easily able to say, "Yeah! Great job, Nintendo! Take down all fan creations and make sure they can't create again!", the same people are okay using emulators on a regular basis acting like it's a completely different thing. This mod was free (Patreon essentially is people choosing to support creators, there is a big legal hurdle there but really the mod itself does not have a price tag on it), there are several games that are able to get past the legal battle which I hope continue to such as Super Smash Flash 2 and honestly, Nintendo needing to rely on shutting down fan projects instead if giving people what is in demand is something I shake my head at. How long do you guys think it will be till Mario 64 is on the Switch, cause I'm honestly afraid to find out. End of my rant, sucks for Kaze and hope he gets something out of his hard work and as for Nintendo...Im really hoping the Switch will not become a Wii U. It's looking like it won't but if you can reply to me that Nintendo hasn't done any screw ups in the past couple years, then you've got more optimism than me.
I honestly can't say for certain if it will become true because wasn't the amiibo listing discredited for using Smashified's Shovel Knight art and multiple sources claiming it to be fake. That aside, I have had it in the mind that apart of the megaton annoucement could be his entrance into Smash but we will see. Shovel Knight isn't the highest character on my list due to being a new character and not taking priority over Bandana Dee, Banjo-Kazooie and especially my number one Isaac, but he isn't the worst choice for a character. Overall, just hoping Sakurai's several character choices are good ones and hell, even if they aren't my favorites (Ryu), I haven't regretted my DLC purchases since they are all still solid characters

But, I do agree, they should ads more depth to each one by having tutorial, mastery modes like Target Smash, Board the Platforms and more that teach all of the characters functions so they can jump into competitive play easier than just repeated battles of no items, final destination. I do hope they can keep this roster for if they do massive cuts in the next game, it would hurt a significant aspect to Smash Bros and as gamers, we should demand the true potential to any game, but in case if this is Sakurai ' last Smash Bros game, I'm all for the 55+ roster with all unique functions, unless if you don't count clones and semiclones
