The lack of GBA on 3DS has nothing to do with commitment to ambassadors. It's because the GBA games on 3DS are an unpolished, unprofessional looking product. It feels like you're running some sort of beta verson of the VC compared to all the other VC releases. As a free bonus, this is fine. For a paid product it doesn't feel acceptable.
I just finished every puzzle over Christmas. Streetpass feels so empty now. 100%'ed both Find Mii's a long time ago. Looks like I'm gonna have to dip into the paid games soon.
I'm colorblind and I think this sucks. The bright primary colors of the old Dr Mario I can differentiate just fine, but the new purply looking one looks so much like the light blue to me that I won't be able to play this at all. Oh well.
Am I the only one who clearly saw parts of the maps to Mario Circuit 1 and 2 as well as Ghost Valley 1 in there? That's the kind of stuff that crosses the "inspired by" line directly into "rip-off" territory. Inspiration is fine, but don't blatantly copy.
This has nothing to do with Nintendo branding. It's what happens when a news organization hires someone based purely on looks and not knowledge of the subject they're reporting.
I used to have the Tetris Game Watch. It looked almost identical to the Mario one pictured here and it was downright awesome. In junior high, everyone thought it was so great that I had a Tetris watch because I could play it in school and the teachers never noticed what it was.
Monster Hunter is the only game where I hear people say stuff like "The single player mode is only 70 hours, so playing without online isn't worth it."
Anyone who doesn't understand why they are selling this isn't paying much attention. It's obviously a version made for younger kids as a Christmas present. I'm talking 4-8 year olds. Kids whose parents aren't going to by a $350 WiiU for them, but would easily pick up a $99 Wii. Kids that age could care less about online. They just want to play Mario.
This was always my least favorite Punch-Out game. It just never felt right to me. The music, the look of Mac, the lack of a lot of the good characters... it all seemed off to me.
@Monkeh How do you know they've only added a few new things? You haven't even played the latest two games yet, and the first two were actually very different from each other. To be honest I could say the same for SMB2 and SMW too if I wanted to. Superfically they just, changed the leaf and raccoon tail to a feather an cape and added a dinosaur. Of course we all know there's a lot more to it than that now, but a brief glance would suggest otherwise. People are passing off NMB 2 and U already and we haven't even played them yet, even though the series has been consistently fun and an excellent seller up to this point.
I think it's funny that people are making such a big deal of the Wii U launching with the FOURTH 2D Mario platformer in 6 years as if that automatically makes it a bad thing... Remind me again... what was the big SNES launch title? I'm pretty sure it was the FOURTH 2D Mario platformer in 6 years... I guess that means it must have sucked...
Before anyone tries to tout that Monster Hunter Portable 3rd outsold Monster Hunter 3G, they need to realize that these numbers account for the entire year 2011. Monster Hunter 3G nearly matched the entire year's sales of Portable 3rd in only 21 days. All that on a system with a much smaller install base. Pretty impressive really.
The problem is that fans can't agree with each other. They like to argue, whine, and complain. Minor polls are a good idea. In depth development decisions are a bad one.
I totally agree with the 10. Best 2D Zelda ever made. ALttP may be more popular, and the Oracles games may be newer, but as far as putting everything together as a total package Link's Awakening just has a certain magic to it. The self-referential humor, the constant cameos, the way the mystery of the island unfolds, it all just works. The ending also made me tear up as a kid. It's like Chrono Trigger in the way it can be light-hearted and hilarious one minute and then gut-wrenchingly emotional the next. Most Zelda games miss out on that humor aspect actually. Link's Awakening pulled it off perfectly, and they didn't even need Tingle to do it.
I'm almost surprised that they still make the DS Lite with the 2 version of the DSi and the 3DS on the market as well. Maybe this is a way to clear off the rest of the old stock? The red boxes look pretty cool. My brother just picked up Bowser's Inside Story as a present for for my son's 5th birthday. I wonder if he'll be able to swap it for a red case one since it hasn't been opened yet.
From what I've played it's the same as the Wii version only without the higher res graphics and remixed music. Graphics and music for the DS version are the originals. I think those are what he's calling frilly junk.
I remember the first time that I found out this game was originally part of the same series as Legacy of the Wizard (Dragon Slayer IV) in Japan it shocked me. Speaking of which, we definitely need Legacy of the Wizard on the VC sometime too. That was a great game.
The DS came out in 2004 adn there were still new GBA releases until 2008. Sure they dropped it eventually, but not immediately. And there WERE quite a few high profile post-DS GBA titles released. Zelda: The Minish Cap, Pokemon Emerald, Warioware Twisted, all of the FF GBA games... Those all came out after the DS launched off the top of my head anyway, and I'm sure there were more. People read too much into a statement that a company will continue to support a platform. They won't support it for the entire life of the 3DS, but as it's a successful system it will probably get another 2-3 years easily.
I don't care what anyone says, Spiritual Warfare is still one of my favorite games of all time. Name one other NES game where the boss is Satan and you have to take him out with apples.
Fun game, but the badly written script is REALLY bugging me. The combination of bad grammar and lame jokes makes it seem like it was written by a 13-year old. Aside from that, it's a really nice game though. Reminds me of Secret of Mana.
Graphics look awesome. Cel-shaded adult Link is great. Not as dark and gloomy and brown as TP, and not kiddy like WW... strikes a nice balance that brings to mind what LTTP would look like in 3D.
game & watch games for 200 points? now that's the sort of stuff i wanna see! give me a reason to buy a dsi, nintendo! throw in some gameboy and i'll be sold!

Fun fact about the word phallus, it's not censored in Pokemon. Totally legit Pokemon name. Note, go flood wonder trade!

Yeah shut it down. Also, the physics are to floaty and the controls are garbage. It's technically impressive but nearly unplayable.
