Re: EA's Peter Moore States That "Nintendo's A Great Partner" In Reaction To Claims of "Dead" Relationship

YChung

@CaPPa I agree in many respects.

I actually think twice before buying a EA game now on any platform just because of the statements that come from that company. I have PS3 as well, and I will not buy EA games anymore until we see a significant improvement in the relationship with Nintendo.

There is absolutely no need to be negative or bash a platform in anyway, especially one like Nintendo who have been around so long and EA would have made their business from in the past.

I remember when FIFA was a very, very poor game indeed.

Re: Mass Market Price And Mario Kart 8 Will Reverse The Wii U's Fortunes, Say UK Retailers

YChung

One game will not save the wii u but then again I don't believe that it's too late. As long as Nintendo can give us a new metroid prime, zelda, and star fox, wiiu will be alright. A new hd fire emblem could also spurr sales after the popularity of awakening.
They need to get more 3rd parties working on their franchises.
Reggie promised no sales drought this year, but we have heard nothing new for wii u. They have to show us what they are working on and stop being so secretive.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Wii U Struggles Bring a Challenge, Not Doom

YChung

How to turn the Wii U around and make a profit?
How about remakes in HD? Quicker to get on store shelves and will sell machines. Wind Waker did very well.

Also Nintendo should buy studios to create exclusive content. Another Retro or MonolithSoft would be great. They should have invested in the sales of one of these: Atari, THQ, Atlus

Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U Games of 2014

YChung

This list is way too short. Reggie said there would be no drought this year. All the evidence points otherwise. There is virtually no 3rd party support.
We need Nintendo to pull out their franchises:

  • Metroid
  • Fire Emblem
  • F-Zero
  • Star Fox

All different genres and all aimed at the hardcore.

Re: Nintendo Comments On EarthBound's Inflated Pricing

YChung

I haven't bought it yet even though I want it. In fact I haven't bought any Virtual console games even though I want to because I believe that Nintendo are being greedy and I want to see a unified system between my Wii U and 3DS. I mean, which platform should I buy Virtual Console games for? so I buy it for neither of them. Nintendo are being greedy, yes. As a loyal fan I don't feel rewarded for buying both systems.

Re: Preview: Rayman Legends

YChung

I disagree with the negative comments posted here. Not buy a game because it got delayed (for whatever reason) Ubisoft and any publisher has the right to do this to optimise sales. What's the point releasing a game when there were genuine concern about sales. They have been the biggest supporter of wii u, would you prefer they pull the plug on all their games? Because at the end of the day, its you and other Nintendo fans that lose out. I believe that they would have used the extra time to polish and add to the final game. I'm a nintendo fan and own both wii u and 3ds but I disagree with some of you. You not buying and playing what may turn out to be the best game on wii u is going to be your loss and not Ubisofts. They will sell lots of copies on all platforms and you will only damage sales on wii u and prove 1 thing to ubisoft, and that is they made the right decision.

Re: Soapbox: Retail Games Cost Too Much To Download From The eShop

YChung

@sleepinglion I so agree with you on virtual console game prices which is why I have not bought any except the ones going for 0.30. They are rip-off prices. And yes nintendo are greedy. All their pricing is on the expensive side. Including wii u games, again why I don't buy many. Rip off!!

3ds games for around £20-25 is worth it. Not £35 as you'll find for first party games.

Re: Ubisoft - Splinter Cell: Blacklist A "Great Fit" For Wii U

YChung

Ubisoft are pretty much the only 3rd party trying to do things with the Wii U and it's gamepad right now. They showed what they could do, thinking out of the box with Zombie U which was a very good launch game. It's a shame if we don't see a sequel as it could be great and a system seller. This is why I am buying 3 or 4 or their games this year. And let's be honest, do we Wii U owners have that many 3rd party games to choose from and certainly not to the same level of franchises on offer. I'm sorry, but no one can point blame at Ubisoft about anything. Nintendo are the ones who need to do more with 3rd parties.

Re: Fils-Aime - With the Upcoming Wii U Lineup Third-Party "Development Dollars are Starting to Shift"

YChung

@hydeks First of all, I apologise if I hit a nerve for calling you a deluded Nintendo fanboy. Wasn't intending to be insulting. Just came out like that for some reason. I do think alot of Nintendo Fans are though, keep bashing on 3rd party developers and placing the blame elsewhere when clearly Nintendo are the ones at fault. To say I'm trolling is laughable. Can a Nintendo game player not be dissatisifed with the current situation on Wii U and comment on it? It's because I care and I'm a Nintendo fan, that's the reason I even bother to comment. The only other console I've bought that was not a Nintendo system is the PS3. But I've owned the Nes, Snes, N64, Gamecube, Gameboy, Wii, Wii U, GBA SP, DS, and a 3DS. So tell me how is it possible that I'm trolling? Also, my avatar is obviously Fire Emblem inspired.

Re: Fils-Aime - With the Upcoming Wii U Lineup Third-Party "Development Dollars are Starting to Shift"

YChung

@hydeks err no, you are a deluded Nintendo fanboy.
I would say 3rd parties are the one pushing gaming with new franchises. You think nintendo don't rehash the samr old same old. Mario kart 8 anyone? Mario party 9?? Every bloody title has to have a mario. They can't make a realistic sports sim?? It has to have mario and gang. And now the wii u is devoid of any sports titles. Don't get me wrong I have backed nintendo and been a fan since the N64 era but it has bcome so painful with the wii and wii u. Game cube was great. Nintendo are stuck in their heyday.

Re: Waiting For Wii U To Drop In Price? Not Going To Happen, Says Nintendo

YChung

Just beacuse the price does not matter to you it matters a big deal to a lot of people. Whether children or parents. Don't just say you think it's good value and don't need a price drop. I already got the wii u at launch but I want a price cut to stimulate sales and so do retailers and publishers. Nintendo can afford it as well.

Re: Iwata: We Are To Blame For Poor Wii U Sales

YChung

Of course Nintendo is to blame. Who else? Duh!
Not enough action. So much useless talk. Cant believe people can actually point the finger at EA and Ubisoft. Correct me if I'm wrong but both have published more games than Nintendo on the wii u. They both supported the console at launch. Wii u is not selling and its Nintendo's fault. They need to do more to convince third party support. They need to piblish more games themselves. They should have picked up franchises from THQ.

Re: Waiting For Wii U To Drop In Price? Not Going To Happen, Says Nintendo

YChung

Nintendo remains as stubborn as hell. I don't care what he says, the Wii U needs something to happen to stimulate sales. Some games coming will help a little bit. It's hardly going to make much difference on it's own given the current situation. They should be making the most of the next few months to get more sales before the launch of the other consoles. This lack of activity quite frankly is bemusing. No new marketing push. No new prices or bundles. Games are way too expensive and need a price cut too. At this rate, kiss it goodbye Nintendo as everyone will be buying a PS4 come the fall not a Wii U.
Third party developers and retailers have been asking for a price cut, and Nintendo just ignores it. Too bad Ubisoft is scaling back support, but it is nothing more than Nintendo deserves.
Stubborn and very backwards thinking. They should price drop by £50 now, and the premium console should be no more than £200 by the time the others arrive. Come on Nintendo, get your act together. Fed up!

Re: Grant Kirkhope Wishes He Could Make Banjo-Kazooie 3 For Nintendo

YChung

Rare was my favourite developer on the N64. Goldeneye, Banjo Kazooie, and Rare's take on mario kart, forget the name, were my first games on the system and all were 1st rate. Jet Force Gemini wad arguably my fave game on the N64. Gutted when they were sold. Rare needs to go back to nintendo. New Killer Instinct would be awesome.

Re: Reaction: Doom and Gloom Merchants on Wii U Being Nintendo's Last Home Console

YChung

Laughable.
I will always buy Nintendo consoles as will others who love their franchises. And we are not talking about 2 or 3 franchises. Let me see:
Mario, Zelda, Star Fox, Metroid, F-Zero, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Donkey Kong Country, Smash Brothers, Kid Icarus, Mario Kart, Pikman and the list goes on and on. Many of those could be system sellers. We've never had any of these games in HD before, this is new to the Wii U. These are games that cannot be played elsewhere. We also have 2 exclusives in Bayonetta and 101 which should be out this year. I am not concerned with the graphical ability of the Wii U. If it can deliver visuals like the Zelda demo at E3 a couple of years back, that is good enough for me. Look at what's being produced for games now on PS3 and Xbox 360. They look pretty damn impressive too me (Last of Us), Wii U is capable of more. The naysayers will be eating humble pie! And look, I will be buying a brand new 3DS to play Fire Emblem Awakening. Proof that Nintendo games sell hardware.

Re: Pandora's Tower Finally Heading To North America

YChung

I preferred this game way more than the last story. This game was fun and I completed it and it has replay value. I found the last story a real chore and gave up and sold it after about 12 - 15 hrs waiting for it to get good. Give this game a go. Its very good 8/10

Re: USA VC Update: Phantasy Star IV

YChung

I really don't get the 1 game per week that's going on in North America. I've only started out the VC gaming and so to me it wouldn't be a problem if they started doing that in the UK as well. But it is really taking the biscuit making people wait rudiculous lengths of time when it's not necessary. Choice is a good thing and at the very least there should be 2 or 3 games to choose from. I happen to have downloaded Phantasy Star 4 and I think it's an amazing RPG even by todays standards. I can't believe it was made for the Genesis, the battles, storytelling, music, and visuals are all top notch. Highly recommended.
