Reminds me of F-zero. I've been playing Excite Truck recently and they have an mp3 playlist feature I hope they decide to bring this back for future games as it has been strangely absent for a while now
@lilboyblue Guy calm down. I see Nity hasnt learned their lesson about holding back system power.
There is no lesson to be learned here Nintendo didn't hold back system power it's just that the other consoles are very advanced as at the time they fit unreleased PC hardware and condensed them into relatively small cases. In the old days the consoles use to use existing proven technology but the fact that Sony and Microsoft used very powerful PC technology in their consoles shows because Nintendo's console is the most reliable of the three available today as the others are plagued with overheating problems.
Back to the subject I personally don't import a lot of games but region locking sucks for games or movies.
Am kind of glad to be honest I came late to Zelda on Wii and I've only just started playing Twilight Princess so next year for Skyward Sword is all good for me.
TvC is a great game but I've always prefered the full 6 button control of Capcom fighters rather than the simplified control of TvC. Marvel Vs Capcom would have been an instant win but I read that it too would be having a similar scheme to TvC so I don't think I'll be missing too much.
Either way it seems to be a trend by rights Street Fighter 4 should be on the Wii but it isn't so MVC 3 not on Wii is no surprise.
In all honesty I was going to say I'd rather have Marvel Vs Capcom 3 but I played MVC 2 the other day and I just didn't like it anymore. TvC seemed was much better in comparison. But If I had a choice I'd choose Street Fighter 4 over both TvC and MvC =p
25th Anniversary while I'm glad it came out as I have always loved Mario Allstars ever since I first played it on the Snes all those years ago. The potential for this release was huge and sadly it went completely untapped
Na it's not the slowdown that stops it from being Amazing it was the bloody checkpoints there was none. I played the game to death and it was frustrating everytime until I had cheats but then I felt like a cheater so hell I never one =P
I'm not entirely sure since I heard the Virtual boy at the time caused some serious health issues. If they can get rid of those problems then why not =)
I don't see supporting 3DS and DS as an issue as they make it out as back in the day most people used to have a budget version and their top version of their games. Anyone remember when Nintendo supported both the Nintendo NES and Super Nintendo at the same time , Commodore had their C64 and Amiga lines , Sega had their Master System and Megadrive. Having a budget line as long as they carry on releasing quality software is a fantastic thing. I mean I remember having a Super Nintendo and still wanting to buy NES titles because they were just good. I actually played Super Mario Bros 3 after I completed Super Mario World =).
They can't yet because playing from sdcards is half arsed. It loads into the Wii memory first and doesn't play from the SDcard. So theoretically they could only up the limit to 512mb max but that said they couldn't do that either because other channels mandatory channels are taking up that memory. I hope that Meat boy manages to retain the full game in under 40mb
I understand that Sales matter to Nintendo because that's their business but us as consumers we shouldn't really need to care as long as the games you want to play keep getting released on the system you invested in. I personally bought the Wii to play new Nintendo games and I'm getting that so it's all good from where I stand. I can't believe it's already been 5 years since the Wii was released and much to my surprise the best releases are coming out now.
I wonder how many of us there are who don't play games online and only buy games for their 1 player campaign and local multiplayer as I do. But on the flipside I don't see why Nintendo always gets the short end of the stick when it comes to online multiplayer even back on the Gamecube multiplatform releases started to become rare towards the end and even then none of them had the online features the other versions had. Ah well I'll still be buying my copy on the Wii =)
That's true DS games are poorly promoted however PSP games are even worse promoted from what I've seen. When I went to my local "GAME" a few weeks ago I saw that the DS had a massive amount of shelf space but the PSP had next to none. I'm not sure if this is because of the PSPGO but man I was shocked I couldn't find a damn thing for the PSP. I don't really get what's going on to be honest the only games I see promoted are 360 and PS3 titles and other games just seem to dwindle in nowhere land.
Yeah I had Final fight and this game and to be honest this game Rival Turf got a lot more play time simply because it had the two player mode. I cursed Final Fight for not having two player mode and the lack of charachter on the so called Super Nintendo.
Yeah great to see Capcom releasing games on the VCA, I hope at some point they will release some classics that people actually remember such as the CPS1 and CPS2 games like Final Fight , Ghouls n Ghosts , Street Fighter 2 , Xmen vs Street Fighter etc.
I wanted a Nintendo but my parents wouldn't buy me one so I had to go down to the local community centre to play. I remember 2 games only Mario Bros which I tried playing and I was absolutely rubbish at it and also Castlevania. For some reason it was a big deal changing the games. I later found out this was because on occasion if you changed the game it could mean that when you try the next game it wouldn't work. Everyone knows what I'm talkin about =P
I played this back on the Super Nintendo mid life I think and man it was very addictive and completely different to what I was used to and even to date there isn't nothing else out there like it except perhaps Pilotwings 64
The 2.5D evironments with a Dpad will probably work like Crash Bandicoot games. The game looks awesome to me and this is what I've been waiting for a true Metroid game. Metroid Prime have always felt a little awkward to me. So I've always preferred the 2d games in the Metroid series.
Strange thing I prefered the DS title as the Graphics were overall more solid. What this meant for me is that finding coins is easier to do as they don't disappear or reappear in front of you out of nowhere. This sounds like a minor gripe but I prefer the sharper graphics verses the N64 blurred anti aliased ones. After I completed the DS version of the game I found it hard to go back to play the N64 version although I would have preferred analog controls the game is by no means ruined by the lack of them. It actually kinda made running in a straight line easier =P
Man this is a total sham, Commodore emulators work fine with this but the company that created the hardware and has access to full source code can't fix this bug absolutely stupid
@Mach-X Not true the original Xbox had CPS2 and CPS3 emulators and Mame running at full speed for most games I'm sure Wii is powerful enough to emulate the Arcade hardware.check http://xport.xbox-scene.com/
I liked this version but the button layout and lack of 2 buttons the Arcade version had kind of hampered the otherwise enjoyable experience. I would like it if they released an Street Fighter Alpha Anthology Mini Mix containing the three Arcade games on the Nintendo DS.
I tried the Nintendo Demo was a bit too simplistic for me. I got bored pretty quickly because the limitation of the Pokemon not leveling up was annoying. My personal opinion is that this game would have been so much better if it just had leveling up
I'm hoping the trend will continue. It's kinda cool to see all the different versions of Street Fighter. If it continues hopefully the Arcade originals will get released which is what I'm really after. As I keep my PS2 around just for Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo / Anniversary Edition and Alpha Generations. I'd be really happy if they ended up on Wii in some way shape or form. Then I could pack my PS2 away =P
Hmm it was ambitious effort but it lost a lot to the impact of the 32bit consoles pushing out near Arcade perfect games. I would still say it was a decent game but obviously not a patch on those near perfectly ported Sega Saturn and PS1 / PS2 Anthology versions. However I know people that only had a Snes at the time and they loved this game not having played the much Superior Arcade version
Fantastic game. This is a game I played when my neighbours had an Amstrad CPC and man the thing I noticed was that the graphics were fantastic compared to the Amstrad games and it looked much better than the Nes games. The main thing I remember was that the Sega Master system was cheaper than the Nintendo Nes and had the games I grew up with in the Arcades like Shinobi , Golden Axe and Shadow Dancer. Plus it was the first console I ever had the Sega Master System was a top console in its day everyone I knew had one
I hope they release a Megadrive six button controller for this game coz man I don't like the way it plays on the Classic Controller it just doesn't feel right
I would be good if they released Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo as a Wii Ware title to make up for the lack of a Virtual Console version . Since the game was in my opinion the best of the Street Fighters before SF3 and the Alpha series was released. I still play this game even today. I personally think the attraction ot SSF2T is the fact that its so hard compared to all the others which makes it really addictive
I hope Capcom port Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix to WiiWare even if its not in HD."
Yeah me too they can get it pretty close graphically as Guilty Gear looks pretty good when compared to the old Street fighter games. It should look pretty good if they have an option for 480p for the game
The Sega Master System 2 was my first computer / gaming console prior to that I used to play on my neighbours Amstrad CPC. So when I got the Master System I was instantly hooked as the graphics were really good in comparison to the Amstrad. The best thing at the time was that because everyone was poor we couldn't afford the £109 nes so we went for the £59.99 Master System . It was the only console I had so I wasn't aware that consoles had not just variations in graphics but complete redesigns in gameplay like Sonic for Megadrive vs Sega Master system. That said I had a great time with it. I had Alex Kid , Sonic and Castle of Illusion. Fantastic games they were too .
I think the Americans retro gamers are lucky they didn't get to play the first time around as games. The way I had never played a Turbo Graphx before it came on the virtual console. I think this is one of the biggest attractions of the Virtual console the fact that we can play classics that we missed out on. Either because we belong to a new generation or because simply we didn't own the console at the time
This is good news but it would be good if we had other console controllers for that authentic feel. I mean playing a Megadrive game on a controller based on a Snes controller doesn't feel right. While the Snes had the advantage of 6 button controller out the box the Sega 6 button controller was much better for fighters in my opinion. Also theres nothing quite like playing N64 game with the original controller. It doesn't seem to sit quite right with the classic controller
>Games with TOO MUCH BLOOD are overexaggerative. Its too bad, >Samurai Shodown would've be an awesome game. 2/5 from me. >The Last Blade is better in all basic fighting game aspects BTW.
Samurai Showdown is better than Last Blade 1 and 2
I prefer this version to the Sega CD version its a solid fighter and it'll take a while to master it enough to be able to complete the single player mode. I remember borrowing a Megadrive and hiring the game from our local hire place to play this. It shows when a game is made specifically for the Megadrive instead of a conversion like street fighter you can have large graphics with great sound. I personally think this is better suited to the Megadrive than Street Fighter was because it was designed with the console in mind and you can see it the sprites are bigger and the music sounds better than Street Fighter's. It show's what is possible when a game is specifically designed for it
I've played all the Metroid titles and since I don't like first person shooters this for me easily ranks as the best Metroid game and I was lucky to have played this version of the game first. Fusion and Zero on the GBA are alright but this one seems to have the quality of when Nintendo was releasing this game as their main game in their line up. This game was mega when it came out 70 quid plus the players guide. Now that the Prime trilogy is coming to an end I wonder if they will release a new 2d version for the Wii at some point . But I hope it isn't like the DS update New Super Mario Bros as the game just seemed way too easy and more like a side game in their lineup although a major release on the DS it just had something missing compared to other 2d Mario titles
