The year 2012 saw Pokémon Black and White Version 2 released to great fanfare across the globe and it appears Game Freak, the game's developer, already has plans for the series in 2013.
In a New Year greetings card posted in Japanese magazine Nintendo Dream, the developer has reportedly told everyone it intends to work towards evolving the Pokémon world in the year 2013.
Details are incredibly scarce at the moment but this news will no doubt spark a whole lot of speculation. Could Pokémon be making another move into the home console market with Wii U? Perhaps the main series will grace the two screens of the 3DS with a different visual style? We're looking forward to finding out which direction the series will be taking next.
What would you like to see from this 'evolution'? We'd love to hear your ideas, so fire-off in the comments section below.

A Pokemon adventure with your Mii would be EPIC!!!! and also the shirt in my avatar should be in the game XD
To me it needs to change the visual style as it does seem old but more than that the story needs to change! I have completely lost interest in the series as the story is still generally the same every time!
It'll be darker and grittier.
@SheldonRandoms Or at least some kind of customisation.
Balance the Pokémon so that some aren't just plain useless, limit the amount of Pokémon in the game to somewhere realistic (300?) to achieve this goal, introduce some new elements and mechanics that stretch much further than gimmicks like making 'Pokémon movies', finally make the leap to 3D models, give it an original and unique story, and just don't do what I think you will. Otherwise it's just another Pokémon game I wont end up buying.
Oh - what's that? Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3D might be coming here soon? Sorry Pokémon - I think I'll go with a gaming franchise that knows what the word evolve means.
I always hope for a pokemon game where after you beat the elite four you can have your own gym & design it etc. Since there's wi-fi as well, we could challenge other peoples gym from around the world.
But yeah, that's all I'd like oh & character design maybe... <.<
Give me a ghost type starter, an awesome plot, a first person view, and I'll be happy.
I don't know or care right now; anyone that's seriously taking guesses now and saying "They should do this!" will only disappoint themselves.
I'll look forward to what's happening to Pokémon in 2013 when it's actually annouced. For now, not worth thinking too much about it. (Although, I hope it's still Gen 5, I'm don't feel ready for a new Generation already)
@Amethyst432: That would be awesome!
Pokemon 3DS please! If the series makes a significant change from Pearl I'll finally upgrade! (And use my brothers Black 2 to transfer my pokemon!)
That is a cool idea amethyst. I think it should be a manga based pokemon game. Which if you haven't read you should it changes the whole image of pokemon and it has a really good story different then any of the games. i would love to see the games on the 3ds though.
@Chriiis I don't want it to be like in Pokémon Battle Revolution
But with Mii's, somebody's gonna make a fan version of Shenmue with pokemon.
Excellent suggestions already. Can't wait to see what will be announced!
Evolving = 3D Pokemon. Its the simplest answer.
I want a leap to the Wii U. I love those kinds of graphics on the big screen.
Cross-Consoles with 3DS and Wii U pokemon just like Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.
It will probably be a bunch of Pokemon spin-offs on the 3DS and/or Wii U. I highly doubt new main games will come out anytime soon. We are getting a new Mystery Dungeon game for the 3DS, so that's awesome.
Well for all the people thinking that shouldn't be gen 6 yet 2010 is when Black and White one came out.I think if gen 6 is coming out Japan will get it first next year and we will get it in 2014.The reason I think 2014 is because Gen 4 was from 2006-2010 four years.
@Geonjaha Serious? Each Pokemon has Its own use out there in battle, even JUMPLUFF. and EV training and TMs make for a ridiculous amount of combinations. Get Rid of Pokemon? NO. People across the globe will lose a part of their team. And I have ~550 pokemon CAUGHT.
I still want to see the DS formula on a console.
I want to know what this means! Is it just a new entry into the series? Adding Pokemon? Is it changing the gameplay? 3D graphics? Pokemon finally making real sounds instead of sounding like my computer crashed? What the heck do they mean by evolve?!?
I like Amethyst432's idea of building your own gym, but if the next PokéMon game is on the 3DS, I think some of its functions should be used, such as StreetPass. If you tag someone, you get each other's gyms, and can set a message for your character to say before yo start the fight. Your Trainer ID can be viewed near the entrance, and you can set some trainers in your gym who use PokéMon from your box inventory.
As for SpotPass, you can recieve special events automatically, rather than choosing it from the main menu.
Until I'm proven wrong, I'm just going to assume that this means Game Freak is working on another duo of Pokemon titles of the tried and true formula.
I think it will end up the next main games since as stated each gen has 4 years. Also with the merchandise for genesects movie in japan showing the pokemon in the movie by selling things like watches with the pokemon on it and it saying there are two more pokemon they have not shown yet for the movie. This means we will most likely see two pokemon for gen 6 in genesects movie like we did with zoroarks movie. Also ash's charziard is in it so the movie could go along with what that E3 rumor said gen 6 will have.
All the Pokemen will wear hats.
I'm not expecting a big change but will be pleasantly shocked if there turns out to be one.
What I'm hoping for would be...
To maybe have the accessories you have in contest/musicals/whateverelse on your pokemon in battle... but I'll live if they don't.
of course I'll hope to have it for my 3ds, as streetpass would be allot easyer to get the survey answers, or whatever else they'ed come up with.
also, if it's on 3ds, they should give you a spotpass message on the main menu for when your wifi-trade you've been waiting for was completed.
and if it's a new generation, (please no, I'm still trying to catch all of the new ones) then I'd most want an Eevee evelution that can learn fly, so I can have a full party and not have to walk around everywhere.
thats my 2 cents.
An epic online pokemon world on Wii U that can sync with 3DS to transport your pokemon and battle anyone, earn badges, and catch pokemon in a huge online pokemon region.
@Voicesoffcamera
Exactly. Pokemon evolved after the original gold and silver versions when they introduced the GBA versions, Ruby and Sapphire. It's about time they do it again, a decade later. I'm hoping for the obvious: Fully orchestrated OST, 3D models, balancing of stats and a new game play mechanic (or engine) that gives the series some novelty. I have faith GameFreak will break away from the predictable cookie cutter story of a trainer who embarks on a journey, meddles in an evil corporations plan and becomes Pokemon Leauge Champion.
Pretty much everything we've been expecting for the new generation, and possibly some new things.
3D pokemon, probably some more new pokemon, definitely use of 3DS features, possibly use of Wii U features, a brand new region (possibly even something along the lines of how Gold and Silver had both Kanto and Johto)... probably revamped online, probably a continuation of new features we saw in B&W2...
It would be cool if we took the role of a travelling gym leader who for the most part how has been disowned and left wandering the region/ pokemon world
Ruby and Shaphire 3D. That is all I want.
Never played one Pokemon game.......................................ever.
Am I the only one that REALLY doesn't want to make your own character? I like having the option between a boy or a girl already designed, because they've always had a likable design (imo) and to me, it would be like a Fire Emblem where the main character is customizable ( I think there was one for the DS like that...), and I just don't like the idea of it.
They need a new generation of Pokemon Stadium games on the Wii-U, and Ruby/Sapphire for the 3DS.
@bezerker99 Start with PMD 3DS
@Geonjaha I'd kill for Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry's Wonderland 3d to come to north america. Also the DQ7 remake
I love Pokemon to death, but balance wise, the game is pretty messed up. It really needs a heavy rebalancing, and please remove the IV system, forced random stats does not make the game better.
I assume 3D graphics will be the new direction.
its seems a lot of people on here just want the beautifully simple rpg system of all previous pokemon games to be replaced by me too features fron monster hunter phantasy star final fantasy and skyrim leave it guys. Im all for innovation in the series but innovation within the framework of pokemon just like 3d mario rebounded so well it shouldnt be on consoles and be overly dramatic and long winded its called pocket monsters for christ sake.
Since it's the 10th anniversary of Ruby and Sapphire and Gamefreak has done multiple things for it, maybe the remakes might come or just Emerald which might be the last 5th gen main storyline game. Now is the time when a home-console 5th gen Pokemon game that could connect to the DS should be made.
I Think pokemon should have starters of all types. I mean the old starters only appealed to fans of those types.
I really hope this is good. I love Pokémon, generation VI for 3DS could be a big winner for me. I just hope they don't add another 70 crappy Pokémon and 30 useful ones... Best thing would be if the only added some evolutions to the Pokémon that now are completely useless.
Cross platform between the 3DS and Wii U would be full of win. I would give Nintendo my wallet.
Pleaaase let me use a wii u controller to scan pokemon like a pokedex
Pleaaase let me use a wii u controller to scan pokemon like a pokedex
Pleaaase let me use a wii u controller to scan pokemon like a pokedex
pleeeaseeee
@Tats - All we can do is hope. D:
@TheDreamingHawk I really am hoping Blue and Red come to the 3DS eShop. Not sure why but if I start playing these games, I want to start at the beginning. Cheers~
Expectations: An open-world 3D Pokémon MMO heading to the Wii U.
Reality: "No, folks, you have not actually caught them all."
This is definitely exciting, and I thought 2012 was awesome enough for Pokemon. Could we really be seeing Gen VI already on the 3DS next year? It seems too soon.
@MrWalkieTalkie Amen. That is just what I would suggest.
@GameLord08 Once again, amen.
3D graphics epic story new pokemon awsome pokemon give me umbreon and im good to go
OK, I've been dreaming about this Pokémon MMO-RPG for a while, and for me this is where Pokémon should be heading in the end on the 3DS and the Wii U, but I unfortunately doubt that right now, GameFreak has enough of those skills on Nintendo's last handheld- and home-consoles to do this completely right. So for now, I would just be expecting once again another region, some new Pokémons, better graphics and art, a similar but more serious story... All on the 3DS: basic "evolving."
BUT: I sincerely hope that they do manage to completely re-balance all those Pokémons, because some of those with the most swag paradoxically end up being part of the crappiest in battle (I'm looking at you, Arcanine...) and the opposite is just as much true but understandable (isn't it, Ferrothorn?). To assess this, I would call for a new and final type: Light. What it would do to other types, I ignore, but it would allow for some existing Pokémons and attacks to be changed toward this type to make more sense — Togekiss could be Light and Flying, attacks like Flash could just be Light too --, and would also allow for some new Pokémons and new attacks to come to life. And a new basic but cool story revolving around that new type, a new 3D art that also makes use of that... Other than that, at the speed at which GameFreak is about to release this new Pokémon, I really don't think we can expect anything drastically innovative.
I think it would be awesome if they teamed up with Capcom and made a crossover with Monster Hunter. When you think about it, a lot of things are actually compatible. Elder Dragons are basically legendaries, Sub-species are shinies(even their descriptions state that they're extremely rare), all of the same types, having a partner or group of Felynes or Pokemon during a hunt or free-roam with a limited set of abilities, mostly the same abilities, but some need HMs to be used, and it would add more depth to the game by adding in weapon and armor crafting for you and your Pokemon which would allow for more customization as I've seen in earlier comments on here. And for those who don't like the idea of killing cute little animals, none of the little enemies, such as the Felynes, die. Instead, they run away/tunnel underground and drop something. Also, gyms from the Pokemon series could be combined with the arenas from Monster Hunter in that each town would have an arena and a Leader. All of the hunting locations would be connected by routes which would lead to towns and villages. Rather than going to the village leader/elder for every mission, you could talk to NPC's to accept missions from them. Capturing would also be expanded upon by adding in the traps from MH and possibly make it easier to catch some of the tougher Pokemon in the games(I'm looking at YOU, Kyurem!). Event missions like in 3 and 3 Ultimate via Global Link and Dream World would allow for special equipment and more possible Pokemon or monsters to hunt and/or catch, too. Also, there are some examples of monsters in the game that "evolve." The Velociprey, Ioprey, Genprey, Jaggi, Baggi, Froggi, Ludroth, Bullfango, Uroktor, Vespoid, Monoblos, Basarios, and Giggi all have a more developed form(s) that could be considered an evolution.
I want to have some sort of option to dress my trainer so he looks different than everyone else.
Better story. More places to level and more stuff to do once game is beat that is actually fun.
Like everyone else, i wish it was in a 3D world, a sort of "top view-3D" camera would be awesome but not straying too far from the original style, a bigger game, a ton of pokemon to fit everyone's style, a better GTS, where you could upload your old gen pokemon and download in the new game, for those of us with only one console. also a WiiU and 3DS cross play experience, whatever you do don't take it away from handhelds.
I think its a ruby and sapphire remake for the 3ds :3
You know what I've been dreaming of? A pokemon trading card game for the 3ds w/ EVERY card made. The only pokemon tcg was made on the gbc. Am I the only one who wants this? How about another pokemon pinball game but make it for the 3ds? How awesome would that be to have a pokemon black & white 2 3D pinball game? Let me hear everybody thoughts on these 2 ideas:)
Two save files is what I want to see.
if it is a new game in the main series i will be happy, hope we get some real battle animations, maybe a pomemon game without turn based combat but still an rpg?
@KnightRider666 pokemon pinball by ZEN studios would be awesome, maybe a table for every region/ gen.A new card game would be nice too with online.
As for the main series , i always wanted to see something like active time battling added to it.
@I-U we can dream..; we ... can ... dream...
maybe for the global trades have an auction system, you put your pokemon up and people bid with their pokemon, instead of just asking for a certain pokemon and it being first come first serve
It's time for CHAAYYNNNNGE!!
MMO
There needs to be a Pokemon Rainbow edition so we could get all the old and new Pokemon and revisit all the regions.
On another note, am I the only one who honestly doesn't want a 3D Pokemon? I really like the 2D sprites and visual style. It would lose its charm in my opinion if it got rid of the traditional style. There's no reason why we can't have high quality, 2D sprites and graphics displayed in 3D for depth.
Can't wait to find out.
@AlphaIchimoru First person? You must be kidding.
The current formula isn't a bad one. Though the whole thing needs to be kept fresh. I think another remake of the red/blue/green version would be the best option to introduce new big changes to the series.
Simply using the 3D models from the Pokedex 3D would be the very best <3
A main version for Wii U. That would be incredible. Otherwise, more tries to milk people for money and I will officially hate Game Freak.
@Retrogamer22: Every region on a single game would be incredible, but a little overwhelming for the newcomers IMHO.
@AgentAPE: YES!!! Pokemon Zen Pinball would be awesome(never even thought of that!), but Nintendo always seemed to do an amazing job outright. I like your ideas about having a different table form each generation of games. I'd kill for a trading card game w/ online play. I can't believe the series hasn't been resurrected since the first game boy color game. Either a new card or pinball game has to happen soon...
@Emaan: No, you're not the only one. I like the look of where the games are at right now. I think that they just need to come up w/ different starters(a psyhic, a dark, and fighting would be a perfect balance). I'm so tired of the grass/water/fire starter trend that every game has seemed to follow.
@AgentAPE: Oh one more thing, online leader boards for the pokemon pinball and trading card games(if they were made) would further push replayability to the max!
yeah customization of the character would be nice just the whole look of perspective i seen youtube vids were they go full 3d view of the landscape makes it a whole lot interesting that way and just more attacks that actually fit the pokemon it self some are never even used or useless but only ment to look 'cool'
maybe they will have a 3ds and wii u connection or it be like the new super smash bros games? either way we cant expect to much its never as amazing as we think its how they come up with things =/
A Pokemon game on the Wii U would be awesome! but then again it probably won' t happen. We' ll probably end up with something a step closer to an actual 3D world in the next instalment.
@Emaan Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're the only one.
@I-U why not 3 save files so se can have all 3 starters?
I'm not gonna bother wishing for anything to happen, but I can't wait to see what Game Freak comes up with.
The new PMD sprites are a nice step though.
no damn console version it goes against the whole point.
@Baer It needs a new plot, instead of the same old routine, and we at least need something other than the top down view. It'd also be awesome if the area was in correct scale. It'd also be a pretty cool mechanic to be able to control the Pokemon, but that's another thing entirely. Also, there's nothing wrong with First Person.
Why do people want a pokemon MMO-RPG? Some games should only be single player. We don't need Multiplayer for everything, and do you know how watered down the pokemon storyline would be if we had 1,000 some odd players on one server? Would there even be a storyline? Not to mention the jerk that just goes around taking out all of the new guys. It'd be hard to work a system like that out.
Different storylines depending on the age of the person would be great along with multiple endings depending on decisions made during play. All 3D polygonal battles on 3DS should be the norm now. As new Pokemon versions come out the progression we made as trainers should continue instead of starting from scratch every time. Probably more things I would like but can't think of it right now.
Wouldn't surprise me if it turns out to be the Ruby & Sapphire remakes.
Ahh... so much could be done with Pokémon...
I would love to see the battles go from turn-based to real-time (i.e. pokepark wii).
so you guys just mean as a wrap up, you want denpa men with pokemon "reskins" right? Think about dream radar...
this is their chance to bring back pokemon stadium!
For the Wii U I would like to see a 3D Adventure Platform, been waiting for that for a long time, I'll pass on Pokemon Stadium....so will most, I want the classic 151 gameboy adventure Experience on Wii U it wouldn't hurt for them to bring a 3D platform to the 3DS as well, everyone I've talked to is sick of the overhead view.
So you want them to change what makes Pokemon Pokemon?...
Genius guys.. Genius.
There is nothing wrong with the current formula. It might need some new elements, or returning ones.. Above ground bases... But that's it.
I expect to be disappointed. I imagine they'll make it more accessible to newcomers by removing many of the RPG features. but by doing so they will alienate all of their fans of the main Pokemon games.
They already created 3D character models for Pokedex Pro. I wouldn't be against them reusing those models for a new Pokemon game. I could spend ages talking about what I'd like to see but I'm not going to. Basically, just continue what they were doing but add to the games each time. They have removed several cool features from previous games with each new game. I miss stuff like the Pokétch.
Pokemon is evolving?
/me Spams the (B) button. D:
@Bass_X0
You think they're going to try to make this series more accessible to newcomers, a series that was ALWAYS for kids to begin with? This series couldn't be more "accessible" if it tried. And it's not like they need to attract more fans. Pokemon is already popular as all hell.
I think that in a 3D pokemon game you should be able to take pokemon out whenever you want. Also you can bond with your pokemon while there out adding a nintendogs like feature. Bonding with your pokemon increases their stats in battle
My idea of the controls for that game on 3DS:
Circle pad = Move
Tap touch screen = Select pokemon
A/B/X/Y button (while a pokemon is out) = use item
L/R Button = send out pokemon
Start button = pause
END
The touch screen shows all your pokemon.
Tap the one you want to send out to select it.
Yeah. Todays kids aren't the same as 1996's kids. Todays kids are used to games holding their hands throughout. Back in 1996, kids were dropped in the deep end and had to learn to swim on their on. And they did. Its how it should be.
I'm taking about how 3DS Paper Mario removed many of the features that people enjoyed the Paper Mario games for.
@Usagi-san You watch P M I on YouTube? That's a term they always use for newer movies lol
Pokemon on 3DS, for sure. People were wondering what was going on when W2/B2 were announced for the DS, what would happen if the next game did the same?
I don't think anyone even mentioned a main-series-game on the Wii U, because that would be terrible. It's fine on handhelds, if Gamefreak or Nintendo want to make a Pokemon game on a console, make a game like Battle Revolution or a 3D one like XD: Game of Darkness, that would be amazing.
I really want to see the Hoenn region again 2013, too.
It would be amazing to see 3D models in battle, similar to the 3D Pokedex. The use of the 3DS's internet functions would work with my computer so I could finally battle and trade online.
@8bitforever pokemon fans will flip there strawberries if they see that and a riot of Pokemon fans will occur I only think this is announcement of Gen 6.
@Banjogeek - I doubt this is announcing the 6th Gen, there's still quite a lot of time for that. If everything goes as usual, the next game will be a Hoenn remake, i.e. Sky Emerald, but I don't see that as being an "evolution" in the series... I can say I'm a bit of a Pokemon fanboy, and I don't see anything wrong with the 3D models @Ideal mentioned... though I don't quite understand what you're picking at with the "use of the 3DS's internet functions", @Ideal.
Maybe they could keep the top-down gameplay then just take the battles from either XD or the stadium games, and shrink them down for the 3DS. Even if they just re-use the existing models and add new ones for GEN 5 pokemon, thats still a huge step up for the series.
Heck, I'd just be happy to see a a shadow pokemon game make it to the handheld, XD is one of my most played games in the series.
Pokemon rainbow.
This is all i need.
I don't really care how Pokémon evolves, but I know that Game Freak are going to keep to the tried and true battle system, with all its intricacies and competitive potential. I know pretty much for certain that there isn't going to be a huge change in terms of the battle system. All I can expect is general usability and accessibility changes, such as the infinitely reusable TMs from Gen V. Maybe it will become less of a chore to get competitively viable Pokémon on your team. I remember in Gen III where the move tutors only taught one move once ever, and it was ridiculous. I love the direction Black and White have moved in, and I just hope we get closer to the ideal Pokémon game.
Currently my most wanted thing to come out right now is a Battle Revolution game for Gen V. If it had an online matchup mode, the ability to enforce rules and clauses, flat-battling at either lvl 50 or lvl 100 as the default, fast gameplay that isn't as slow-paced as Colosseum and XD, animations that don't look silly (like when bird Pokés are standing in mid-air on the airborne turn of Fly), a Poké storage functionality where you can dump boxfuls of Pokés to the Wii memory (as apposed to the limited 1-on-1 trading like Colosseum and XD had), and some other general things like the ability to win rare-ish items that you need in order to create teams such as evolution stones, the Electirizer/Magmarizer and other awesome things like the Focus Sash... if it's a completely fully-featured online Poké battle game for the Wii or WiiU, then I'll be completely satisfied with whatever comes out, even if there isn't any sort of story adventure mode like in Colosseum and XD.
I believe that pokemon should return to the mysterious and no hand holding generation 1 style of story
WAAAAAAAAAA?!?!?!
Well, looks like the speculation has begun!
@MrWalkieTalkie
I just said 2 because it has been at 1 file for this long. 3 is a much better option though for sure. I just want to replay a Pokemon game without feeling like I have to erase my data to do so. I don't see myself ever erasing my progress in a Pokemon game, so another file would be nice.
Pokémon MMO please! There's becoming way too many for handhelds and plus you have to consider some of us who might not know many people to trade with. Heck, if they make an MMo why not take a page outta the cartoon and see what different jobs and stuff we can do as opposed to merely battling and apply controls according to role? other than that, the only other thing I can say i'd like to see, and this is for all of Nintendo's best selling franchises, is gives us some textures in both environment and characters, Pokémon included. Nothing wrong with imaging them slightly more realistic.
I'll never understand why so many people seem want an MMO (or all regions in one game, for that matter), maybe as a side mode or lobby system but the series would probably loose alot of its appeal for alot of people. The series ain't exactly known for its deep story to begin with and I doubt Game Freak would know how to adapt the series. Besides that, I can only imagine how badly Nintendo would butcher the online stuff in an attempt to make it "safe and user friendly".
It would be nice if they either raised the BP payout or lower item prices. You only get about 1-3 BP a pop and a good chunk of the prizes are 12-48 BP each, making it a huge pain. Or at least make one of everything other than TMs obtainable elsewhere.
@KnightRider666 OMG, THEY NEED A VIRTUAL CONSOLE RELEASE OF THAT POKEMON TRADING CARD GAME ON GAMEBOY COLOR. BIG TIME.
@Emaan I'm more like in for some luscious 3D in combat and that standard 2D as it has always been (before Black & White) in travels: Pokémon isn't Pokémon without those crazy Trainers clashing you from an imaginary line that just wouldn't make sense outside of that context.
That top-down view while moving around just SHOULD NOT change, seriously. I mean, that's what Pokémon is all about: all those crazy Trainers whose only purpose in life is to stand there, day in and day out, just to clash you.
And I really hope they won't remake Emerald. I sincerely believe that only the first two generations deserved a remake because that was the time when Pokémon was serious about what it was and wasn't trying to appeal to a market segment it clearly owns. For the sake of reminescence, the only thing that made the first Pokémon games look like they were utterly for kids... was the anime. That game was SERIOUS (I mean really hard in that hardcore gamer sense), its art at the time was SERIOUS (Charizard and Blastoise called for respect and so did Psychic and Hyper Beam)... As much as Pikachu made Pokémon popular to the masses, that #25 brought S-H-A-M-E to what Pokémon really was back then, and to what it truly is at its core.
But they really eff-ed up them beauty pageant-like "Pokémon Contests" after Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. This was like the ONLY opportunity where useless Pokémon could be useful WITH THEIR OWN TECHNIQUES!!! WHY??? WHY??? WHY??? They even were competitive!!! I tried again and again and again with my Beautifly — who participated in defeating the Pokémon League first time!! — in order to win all 5 of them!!! They were valuable in demonstrating that, with HARD WORK, a Pokémon could arguably be both 'strong' and 'cute', or hardcore and casual in a sense. Oh, why.........
No, OK, just for this reason I actually WANT that Emerald remake for 3DS. And once they will SEE with their own eyes how REAL these contests were, they'll just HAVE to include them forever. All they need is to be made better, but that idea that attacks could be used for both battles and contests: that was GENIUS.
@DePapier: It couldn't hurt, lol. Not everybody has the time or money to hunt down and buy the original games and systems they were originally on. I'm a different story though;)
I think they should make a pokemon snap on the wii u.
Am I missing something here? What exactly was so great about pokemon snap on the N64? There seems to be a lot of people on here demanding a sequel. Hmmmm.....
@KnightRider666 I think its mainly the core concept (and nostalgia) everybody likes. The game was well made and pretty cool at the time but too short and easy, you could easily blaze through in a day or two. What I think people want is to see what it would be like if Game Freak put as much effort into it as the other spin-offs, namely PMD and Pokemon Ranger (the Wii U and 3DS also have features that would work well with it).
@Zombie_Barioth: You make a good point, my friend. If a sequel to snap was made, and looked to be something w/ a lot of gameplay; I'd buy it on the 3ds. To be honest though, I've seen enough ranger and mystery dungeon sequels to last me a lifetime. As I've stated before(and I feel I'm beating a dead horse now), it's time for them to focus on their forgotten spinoffs(pinball, trading card, and perhaps another puzzle league game?). Your thoughts?
@KnightRider666 I agree for the most part. I was starting to get tired of the mystery dungeon but I like what they've done with the 3DS one so far. The ranger games are fun but not very challenging, with PMD at least they made you stop and think.
I'm actually kinda surprised they didn't make a new TCG game, considering its still going strong. Though I haven't seen a new Yu-Gi-Oh! game lately either. I'd rather see more original spin-offs like the rumble series anyway.
what do you think would happen if they brought shadow pokemon back
The men from the pokemon, I WANT A POKEMON ONLINE MADE BY Original team from Pokemon!!!!!!!!!
@Zombie_Barioth: The rumble series was surprising addicting. Though I never played the one on WiiWare, I really enjoyed the one on the 3DS. I never really got into any of the other trading card games, but I recently started playing SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters Clash on the DS again. Very addicting once you get the hang of it.
@Squiggle55 It's called POCKET Monsters for a reason! As cool as it would be on the big screen, I'd rather keep Pokemon in my bag.
@I-U Yet again I agree with you. I really want to replay Emerald but I don't want to erase my save. :
@Zombie_Barioth Totally agree that BP costs are ridiculous. I understand dedication, but I just want to evolve my Sneasel. -_-
I think nintendo should make Ruby and Sapphire 2 instead of Ruby and Sapphire Remakes. everyone wants pokemon to change and if they do the remakes, everyone will become extremely angry or even violent.
1. There should be all the pokemon from all the regions! 2. It should be like the episodes with team rocket chasing you around and stuff! 3. There should also be a mix up with pokemon like black kyruem and white kyurem but with all types of pokemon! 4. There should be a all new pokemon with an all new move! 5. There should be a huge circle thing and with a wire that connects to the tv and you have these pokemon toys, whatever pokemon you have on the circle thing you use in the tv (up to X amount of pokemon on circle thing). 6. There should a be 3 pokemon mystery eggs with any pokemon inside of them, you have to chose 1 of those and hope you get a good pokemon(all start at Level.5).
P.S. I would be honored if you use atleast one of my ideas i am the #1 pokemon fan i have 2 HUGE boxes of pokemon cards, i watched all the pokemon episodes ever made and still wtaching, i have a whole bag of pokemon action figures, i have 5-6 books of pokemon (getting more), and i have 3 apps of pokemon on my phone!Btw i love your new pokedex app! -Unknown
We need a pokemon MMO on Wii U
I've been thinking for a long time, when will the Poke'mon game developers branch out from handheld games to a fully fleshed out RPG console version of the series? What better time then now? With HD graphics now on the Wii U, HUGE possibilities with the WiiU's game-pad, also the possibility of featuring miiverse capabilities, so that Poke'mon trainers around the world can post screenshots of a new Poke'mon they just caught!
The list goes on, there are so many possibilities now using the WiiU as a platform for an amazing HD Poke'mon RPG. If they did it right, it wouldn't surprise me if it became one of the best games ever made!
Imagine a new free roaming Poke'mon world on the WiiU, where trainers from all over the world are battling in the same place. personalizing your own trainer, having all of your Poke'balls sitting in your lap on the game-pad and with one flick towards the TV (much like throwing ninja stars in Nintendoland) you send your selected Poke'mon to battle!
I would like the view to be Third person but there are possibilities to be able to choose. Like imagine being kicked off the TV and then changing the view on the gamepad and the game looking like a birds eye view, souped-up Gameboy version.
Please, I hope Gamefreak and Nintendo get together for what could be an amazing game on the WiiU.
Okay so I was thinking instead of having the regular fire grass and water types a different set of starters plus once you complete the elite four you become the champion like people can go and battle you online or you can battle other champion or more customization with the charator thanks
well you should make it to where you can choose, gym leader, breeder, contestant, or collector, and you start off with mony to by a porfessors pokemon, any pokemon and you can only do it once, and you pick any pokemon to start with, not includeing legendarys, stage 2-4th, and no babie pokemon, and say if you choose gym leader, your goal is to fist prove your the best, as allways, then you buy a gym, set rules, standards and desine badge, but if you loose to much you need to re-redister, long ass message
if you are a breeder, your goal would be to have the best looking, well conditioned pokemon ever, if your a contestant, that your goal would be to have the smartest, best looking pokemon ever, if you choose collector, your goal would be to have the most diverst range of pokemon, note, once you pick a job you can choose others as you will latter in the game, that would be kewl /

Im surprised there hasnt been a game for wii thats exactly like the gameboy games but better graphics and more detail in the free-roaming like skyrim, that game would bring pokemon back forsure, id be hooked to it! And I also agree with the show, its lost its charm with all the characters changing, more pokemon added and with the storyline being the same. There needs to be more of a connection with the story and the characters like in the beginning of the pokemon series, where there was abetter understanding of the relationships all the characters shared and a more exciting plot when it came to the pokemon
I think they should make clothes and accessories to be purchased in shops to customize your trainer.
And @RedPanda, there was news of a remake of Ruby and Sapphire for the 3DS.
I think you need to add
1: customizable trainer
2:be able to add traits to you trainer and choose what you want to say
3:jerk rivals
4:multiplayer, you can let you friend join the game your playing using the internet
5: creepy secret battle
6:better story line
7: more ghost type, which look cute but eerie
8: STOP PEOPLE FROM USING HACKED POKEMON IN WIFI BATTLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
9:you can choose a story line
10: NO MORE FIRE FIGHTING!!!!!!!
I would like to see a customization of your character in the new series! I am part Caucasian, but also African America. But my skin color does not resemble that of my character in the games! I actually get tired of being a white trainer! I think it would be pretty cool to customize the skin, hair style, glasses, accessories, etc. & on your adventure, you could pay different clothes for your character to better match your style & personality! Another thing I would like to see is you be able to battle Ash, Gary, & others! I also think you should be able to travel the next game with others, just like in the tv series (ex.: Ash, Misty, & Brock)! I love to see Team Rocket (Jessie, Meowth, & James) as well as whatever other bad guys in the game. I would love for us to be able to record our voice, so when our character get dialog, our character can talk(Awesome idea, just don't know if it can be done!) I would love for them to bring back the Secret Hideouts from the Ruby, Sapphire, & Emerald series! Another thing to bring back is the Rival meeting from the original Silver, Gold, & Crystal; where after you battle a friend, the game will save the friends' Pokemon used at that time, and you can come back once a day to battle them for Experience points. & as you rebattle a friend, it will update their Pokemon used! Love to have them bring back the rebattle the gym leaders (from Platinum, Diamond, & Pearl). I'd also like them to bring back the Pokemon who could be out of there Pokeball and venture with you on your journey! I would love for us to catch our own starter. I would love to actually be a champion of the Pokemon league, instead of always having to come back. What I mean is, lets say I beat the champion, then IF I WASNT THE CHAMPION IN THE GAME & NEW CHALLENGER COULDNT BATTLE ME, and i had to go rebattle the elite four, then a registered friend could be the champion, with an update on there most recently used pokemon. Hope that made sense? But other than the customization of the character...I really want to be able to TRAVEL EVERY REGION! Example, start from the Kanto (only with Kanto Pokemon, then Johto, etc.), all the way to the present generation! It would make the game long, but funnier and players would not get bored after beating the game. & finally have an actually Unova league or Region league set in the game, where friends, or other online players may face off to be able to call themselves a champ! I think that would be cool!

A re-make of Pokemon Yellow would be great.
A pokemon game that lets you go to every region
A pokemon game that lets you build your own house like in PMD
