Mario for the 3DS had the popularity, though lacked some of the quality perhaps (3D Land barring). Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing are going to be great games, but are not as well known. Pokemon has both popularity and quality. This could potentially make it a real game-changer for the 3DS.

@SirQuincealot - There very well may be a 'Z' version, but I still think it is a bit early to be predicting that. Who knows, there might be an 'A' and 'B' versions, sequels to X and Y.

I know right? Even when they just release an updated version, I still like to have both, though, so that I can replay the adventure without losing my 'mons.

@Molotov - I don't own that game, so I can't vouch for it. However, screenshots for games such as Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, and Kid Icarus: Uprising look only decent on paper or a computer screen. They may appear to have some rough edges. However, on the intended 3DS screen, they look gorgeous. I have a feeling this will hold true with Pokemon Y and X. And remember, there is till plenty of time for polishing.

Rayman and Pikmin are at the top of my list. These other games look good as well though. I can't understand why some people think that 2013 looks bland for Wii U, especially considering that there are unannounced titles as well.

Hm, the art style reminds me of Cave Story. I will keep an eye on this game.

Stress could also be generated by more enemies and greater threats. Losing Pikmin was also the most stressful part for me.

Very nice list. I'm personally glad that KI:U got the top 3DS spot. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I really enjoyed.

While I find it odd that KI:U didn't seize the top spot, I vastly enjoyed the other two on the list (though I'm still working on Sticker Star). Great list overall.

I think Nintendo's philosophy of doing something unique is excellent. That's one of the reasons why I enjoy Nintendo games/systems so much.

I'm hoping for the whole Trilogy on one 3DS game card, but at this point, anything will do.

Oh... well maybe they'll still do something about the Wii U OS later. I like to be optimistic.

Very interesting articles, Philip. I didn't realize just how many facets there were to the Mega Man franchise. I hope to give the Zero Collection a try soon.

I'm glad Nintendo is already working on a solution to this. At least the Wii U is worth the wait (alliteration!).

@Molotov - The ports were not horrible. They simply did not run perfectly since they were not designed for Wii U. And how are games like ZombiU not full-fledged games? Pikmin 3 was originally intended for Wii, but it was shifted entirely over to Wii U, meaning that it will look and feel entirely like Wii U game. I think you need to check your facts.

Wow. The 3DS is unstoppable in Japan. I wonder how well Wii U will continue to sell there?

Fascinating data. I, for one, am loving my Wii U. I will probably have to be surgically removed from my Wii U once I get Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed and Rayman Legends, though.

I'm really interested in the cross-play between the Wii U and 3DS versions. I also wonder what will differ between the two.

I haven't been on in a while, so I didn't notice. Hopefully this is resolved come Christmas, as I'm pretty sure I'll have some games to add then.

I just finished the demo and it is fantastic. Rayman Legends is 110% an insta-buy.

I agree with @ultraraichu. I can't see many of the multiplayer attractions working well online. This game simply was not designed for online play. I'm sure future titles will take advantage of online play, but for Nintendo Land, it would just spoil the concept of it.

I understand the goal of this console. It's funny that when a console does nothing but play games nowadays, people think it's trash. And it's not like it's being sold at a real high price, either.
