Re: Review: Project X Zone (3DS)

TrueFace

It sounds like a fun concept, but I'm not very familiar with a good deal of these franchises. Add that to the bawdy humor, other games on my radar, and lack of Sonic the Hedgehog and it looks like this will be a pass for me.

Re: Review: Game & Wario (Wii U)

TrueFace

I read a different review that gave it about the same score (7.5), but praised Kung Fu and Bowling. Different strokes, I suppose. It does seem that Ashley is universally 'meh', though. I'm still looking forward to this. I honestly didn't expect every minigame to be a revolution.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Wii U Lineup Makes Commercial Sense

TrueFace

This is why I love Nintendo. They offer fun, innovative games that everyone can enjoy and that the others just don't. Sure, this particular batch of games isn't anything mind blowing, but they look pretty darn fun. Not only that, but success for these titles means that riskier, bolder titles can become reality later on. So essentially, I can support the likes of a future Metroid/Starfox/etc. and still have a blast in the process. It's a win-win situation if you asked me.

Re: Warren Spector: Underestimate Nintendo "At Your Peril"

TrueFace

@ngamer155 - What can I say? It's a classic.

But seriously, it seems foolish to underestimate Nintendo. They've been around the proverbial block a couple of times and have consistently provided quality games. However, Nintendo shouldn't get cocky itself and underestimate its competition.

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue Thirteen

TrueFace

Since I'll be out of town this weekend, I probably won't be continuing the New Game+ in Xenoblade Chronicles, treasure-hunting in Wario Land: Shake It!, or getting S Ranks in Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed like originally planned. I will, however, continue Fire Emblem: Awakening and Rayman DSi. Might throw in some Scarescraper.

Re: SEGA Promises New Gameplay, Enemies and Potentially "Friends" in Sonic Lost World

TrueFace

@Joshers744 - I know what you mean.

Anyways, I can honestly say I haven't played a Sonic game I didn't like. Sure, some were better than others, but each one brought something new to the table. Granted, SEGA's execution of some of these ideas needed a little work and for a while, it did seem like it was confused about just where the series was going. However, I do believe that Sonic's found his zone now, (pun intended) if games like Colors and Generations are any indication. Now that Sonic's back in his focus once again, I think now is the time for elements such as the rest of the cast to be reintroduced. These characters have great potential and could add new gameplay and world-building elements. New types of gameplay can also keep the games fresh and fun. I feel that, while some of these elements bothered some players before, SEGA will be able to use these features to craft an excellent title thanks to them finding Sonic's place in modern gaming.
Plus, Nintendo is involved, too.

Re: Sega Files Trademark For Sonic Lost World

TrueFace

Yes! More potential news.
Cool title. It definitely could be the next installment of the storybook series, though it's obviously hard to tell at this point. I'm hoping that there are at least a few different playable characters. That would add to the replay value and possibly allow a multi-player mode.

Re: Nintendo Claiming Ad Revenue On YouTube User-Generated Gameplay Videos

TrueFace

@Lin1876 - I see your point, but on the flip side, how come the person who made the video in the first place gets to profit off of footage and elements that Nintendo created?
This whole thing is understandable, but hopefully isn't too much of a deterrent to those who make the videos. I can't imagine that there are too many people who do this for a living.

Re: PS4 And Next Xbox Could Share Wii U's Teething Troubles, Says Activision's Kotick

TrueFace

@BestBuck123 - Maybe you can help me then: what is the touch pad on the PS4 controller for? I've been puzzling over that for a while now and I'm pretty lost as to what practical applications that might have in a game. I'm not being sarcastic, I'm genuinely puzzled. You seem to be pretty excited about it, so I thought you might have some good ideas of what it's for.
