Jesus Christ, this is what speedrunning is. Sorry if it isn't the "intended way" to play (which would be the most arbitrary ridiculous rule for a speedrun anyway). And I can tell you that this speedrun takes ten times more skill than any of you beating the game "the right way". So if you could all get off of your high horses for a minute, that would be great.
@ToxieDogg Yeah, since you're buying both versions, exclusive rosters aren't a problem. But Sakurai is trying to be all inclusive, and clearly favoring a certain version with extra characters wouldn't help that. With a competitive game like Smash Brothers, you shouldn't be punished for having a different version than someone else.
@Captain_Gonru How is it an amiibo thing? What, that they AREN'T adding new exclusive characters to each system and therefore having even more toys is money grubbing?
@bro2dragons Sakurai wants to respect the competitive community. Having the same roster between both games means that players won't HAVE to buy both to be a part of the community. If the Ice Climbers were added into the Wii U version, but some hardcore Ice Climbers player already bought a 3DS with the 3DS version, he'd be screwed.
@IxC In theory, if they could add dlc to an older game and they knew it would sell (super hypothetical right now), does that mean that the game wasn't complete when it was released?
@sketchturner He landed a falcon punch, which takes a long time to charge, on one of the best players in the Project M scene. That doesn't happen on a regular basis.
@Nintendo6400 Project M hasn't taken over the scene. Melee is still the most popular tournament Smash Brothers game. And Brawl is much more unbalanced than Project M and has ~~~tripping~~~, so they don't play that.
TLoZ was fun, but without growing up with it, I don't think I can appreciate as much as other people. AoL was too hard for me. xD ALttP was great, but not my favorite. LA was great too. OoT was fun, but it doesn't really hold up to the newer 3D Zeldas. MM feels great, it feels modern, but I didn't like the dungeon design much. I haven't beaten the Oracles. WW was fantastic. MC is my favorite 2D Zelda game. FSA is a pretty fun game. FS is not as good as FSA. TP is awesome amazingly fantastic. ALBW is a great game. PH is one of my favorites. ST I like, but not as much as PH. SS IS THE BEST THING EVER OMG I'm going with SS here.
@AltDotNerd Some of the glitches can only be used on the "knockoff" (which I'm pretty sure was officially supported by Nintendo, though), but the record on N64 isn't far behind.
@NightmareXIV First of all, it's extremely difficult. Like, they pour tons and tons of practice into this. You aren't gonna get it first try. Plus, I think that some of the tricks are iQue only, which is a legit (Chinese-only) system.
If they could just release a full version of a game, they'd realize there was a market for it. Instead, a large amount of people who would've gotten it for Wii U (including me) are now probably going to get it on PC, making it look like there wasn't a market for the game on Wii U.
@XavandSo In my mind, emulation isn't bad if 1) you already own the game or 2) there is no way you can get the game that would benefit the creators. For instance, I don't feel bad for emulating Super Mario Sunshine because there is no way I could get the game that would benefit Nintendo.
I don't think people here understand. If NintendoLife was completely video-based rather than having articles, THEY wouldn't be making income either. Any person on YouTube to use the footage, not only for let's plays, but also for reviews and news, loses their income.
@Fazermint Sometimes it's the game. I have been watching a Last of Us let's play because I don't own a PS3. Sometimes it's the personality playing the game. Jesse Cox and Chuggaaconroy are both very entertaining people, so, to me, it doesn't what they play.
@Doma I am not begrudging a single series, all I am saying was that the silent minority exists, they aren't totally casual, and why. They should keep it balanced AND have a lot of characters and cool collectibles, so it appeals to both crowds. And keep the smash balls, cuz you can always take those out.
@Doma I consider myself a casual Smash player but I played Brawl for ages. And, yes, I did play Melee, but I preferred Brawl.
Why would people like Brawl more? More characters, cool story mode, so many collectibles. And the final smashes cool. Yes, balance and tripping were not good, but as a person who just plays with friends casually, it never bothered me.

Re: Sakurai Explains Reasoning Behind Removal Of Ice Climbers From Super Smash Bros.
@bro2dragons I'd honestly be fine with free DLC, costumes, or new stages, but I think new characters (especially paid) would alienate the community.
Re: Sakurai Explains Reasoning Behind Removal Of Ice Climbers From Super Smash Bros.
@Neferupitou He's an obscure clone.

Re: New Nintendo 3DS Models Announced
@fluggy What's wrong with it? Sure, it doesn't give tons of precise control, but it's predominantly going to be used for cameras anyway.

@ACK How is the Telltale game lame? It's fantastic, and MUCH better than the show.

Re: Video: This Is Possibly The Most Almighty Falcon Punch You'll Ever See
@WaLzgi So, you aren't okay with fans having fun with a video game if they don't buy the next game?
Re: Video: This Is Possibly The Most Almighty Falcon Punch You'll Ever See
@Nintendo6400 Project M hasn't taken over the scene. Melee is still the most popular tournament Smash Brothers game. And Brawl is much more unbalanced than Project M and has ~~~tripping~~~, so they don't play that.
Re: Captain Falcon, Lucina and Robin All Join The Super Smash Bros. Roster
@ALEC_EIFFEL How could you think for a second that Chrom is playable? He's clearly Robin's final smash or an assist trophy.

Re: Mercedes DLC Confirmed for Mario Kart 8 in the West
God, I just hate it when Nintendo gives me free extra content. What jerks.
Re: E3 2014: Quickfire Shigeru Miyamoto Video Focuses On His Three GamePad Projects
@IxC I think it looks that way because the robot is slow, so if you move too fast, it'll be out of sync.
Re: Masahiro Sakurai's Latest Super Smash Bros. Screen is for All You Mega Man Fans
@Liquid_ice I'm pretty sure that Sakurai said that this was his final smash in the big smash direct.

@LordJumpMad Why not? It's optional. You don't have to do it.

Re: Ocarina of Time Speedrunner Explains How To Beat the Game in 22 minutes
@Dr_42o Do you understand how much skill goes into this? These runs are incredibly difficult. It takes a lot of skill for speedrunning.

@TromboneGamer Well, sometimes being a let's player is a part of their income. They need to make money off of it to live and such.

@adrian123 Well, yes, maybe because you are going from an HD console to a handheld? Of course they aren't gonna be as good.

Re: Sakurai Aiming To Please "The Silent Majority" With New Smash Bros.
@Doma I am not begrudging a single series, all I am saying was that the silent minority exists, they aren't totally casual, and why. They should keep it balanced AND have a lot of characters and cool collectibles, so it appeals to both crowds. And keep the smash balls, cuz you can always take those out.
Re: Sakurai Aiming To Please "The Silent Majority" With New Smash Bros.
I am very glad that Sakurai recognizes the silent minority, because it very much exists.

@Prof_Clayton I don't think they should remove Jigglypuff or any of the original 12. Just cuz, you know, they are the original 12.

@Brax Also Jigglypuff!
