So, do any of you people remember the N64? Back then they were charging $70 for some titles which with inflation is equal to $96.26 today . Now THAT was a rip off.
Since people brought it up, I will say I gleefully murdered dozens of innocent people as they ran and cowered in terror in the "No Russian" level of COD: MW2. Clearly video games have warped my mind.
@atariman The camera, the whole FLUDD system and the less than inspired level designs are the biggest reasons. It's the only Mario game (except for some of the spin offs) I can say I strongly dislike.
Regardless of whether people want to believe it or not handheld gaming on a dedicated device will likely never achieve the same success it has had in the past. Phones and tablets have taken a sizable chunk of the market already and I expect their share is only going to grow.
Arkham City is a fantastic game that easily surpasses Asylum. If you've never played it before and still don't pick it up for Wii U you're a terrible person.
What's so hard about just using a username system like their competitors have been doing successfully for years? It's still early to pass judgement but this isn't the best sign that Nintendo has learned from past mistakes.
While graphics are part of it, there's more to the issue than that. Ever wonder why the Wii version of Modern Warfare 3 was missing the predator missile, AC130, osprey gunner, recon drone and reaper kiilstreaks? Or why there were hardly any zombies onscreen in the Wii version of Dead Rising? The Wii simply wasn't powerful enough to handle them. If the Wii U follows the same path then 3rd party support could really suffer.
I like how he says "I'm not really decided about WiiU" and people instantly insist he's directly attacking Nintendo. "Not really decided about WiiU" probably describes the opinion most people have about the system at this point, you know.
Mass Effect 3 is fantastic so I'm certainly glad to see Nintendo gamers be able to experience it. I wonder if it will include a synopsis of the first two games otherwise those who have never played it are going to be lost.
I hated the Nintendo 2011 conference. Too much teasing and not enough substance regarding the Wii U. Needless to say it left me with a serious case of gaming blue balls.
NSMB Wii felt like a rehash of the original on the DS and judging from the screenshots it looks like the deja vu is going to be even stronger with NSMB2. Yawn.
I'm probably going to finish up Mass Effect 3 this weekend. I usually do multiplayer games with my friends over the weekend but with 4/20 falling on a Friday this year most of my friends are going to be in a stupor until Monday morning.
To those saying requiring 6,000 sales before seeing any return isn't much of an issue: Keep in mind that numerous developers have stated that they're lucky to break 20,000 units sold on Wiiware. That makes it a pretty damn big issue.

Re: Sorry, But GBA Games Aren't Coming To The 3DS Virtual Console After All
Why pass up on free money?
Re: This New 3DS Stylus Is Handy for Massaging Your Face
I'm just going to file this thing under "worthless crap that no one should buy".
Re: Rodney Greenblat: Nintendo Works on Creativity and Originality in Games "24/7"
@TheSolarKnight
I read the article. I was making my original statement more towards the misleading headline rather than the quotes from the interview
Re: Rodney Greenblat: Nintendo Works on Creativity and Originality in Games "24/7"
@HarmoKnight
I see you're going with the straw man. Flawless logic.
Re: Rodney Greenblat: Nintendo Works on Creativity and Originality in Games "24/7"
Releasing dozens of games with "Mario" in the tile is super creative, apparently.
Re: Bethesda Yet to Decide on Support for Wii U
@HarmoKnight
WRPG >JRPGs just saying
Re: Bethesda Yet to Decide on Support for Wii U
@Malic
There is no possible way to get a game the size of Skyrim out without bugs.
Re: Bethesda Yet to Decide on Support for Wii U
Bethesda is awesome, end of discussion.
Re: ZombiU Gets Royally Scary in Buckingham Palace
Still holding out hope for a name change.

Re: Rookie Developer Shepherding Mass Effect 3 Onto Wii U
Uh-oh. Can't say handing the port off to an unknown is the best idea. Hopefully my concerns will be completely unfounded.
Re: What Not To Do With Your Brand New 3DS XL
That was pretty cool to watch, I must say.
Re: Nintendo Direct: Expect 3DS and Wii Announcements This Week
The Wii has been more or less dead for months so I wouldn't get excited for anything to be announced in that regard.
Re: Feature: In Defence of Super Mario Sunshine

Re: Feature: In Defence of Super Mario Sunshine
I hate this game. That's all I'm going to say.
Re: Conker's Bad Fur Day Madness and Vulgarity The Work of "Twisted Genius"
I need to go back and play this someday. I don't know if it was actually a good game or if I liked it just because I was 12 when I played it.
Re: Satoru Iwata: Demand for Rich Experiences on Handhelds "Not Going to Go Away"

Re: Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles Helped to Save NES
NINJA turtles. I refuse to go along with any of this "hero" nonsense.
Re: Whoever said Penélope Cruz, You Were Right!
Penolope Cruz dressed as Mario? I'm so confused right now.
Re: Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon Spooked Into 2013 For North America
@Tsuchinoko
Yeah Luigi's Mansion 2 seems the best. The Dark Moon subtitle seems unneeded.
Re: Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon Spooked Into 2013 For North America
Maybe the delay will give them time to come up with a better name for the game.
Re: Planning To Download New Super Mario Bros. 2? You'll Need About 45 Minutes
Just another reason I'll be sticking to retail copies.
@Heatran5400
Got a source or are you just making things up?
Re: Feature: GameCube - GBA Connectivity and Wii U
Instead of attempting to figure out the online market they wasted time and resources on this. That certainly hasn't come back to haunt them.
Re: Review: Frogger: Hyper Arcade Edition (WiiWare)
Not surprised about the score. The demo was pretty weak.
Re: Site News: James Finds a Warp Zone
@Vintage
lol!
Re: Site News: James Finds a Warp Zone
Best of luck, James!
Re: Feature: The Best Soundtracks on Wii
I take it we're disqualifying the Guitar Hero and Rock Band titles? Otherwise those win by default.
Re: Petit Computer Lets You Make Games on Your DSi and 3DS
Using a virtual keyboard on the 3DS to type in programming commands? That sounds awkward as hell.
Re: Review: Mad Dog McCree (3DS eShop)
This is one of those games that I love because of how terrible it is. Still not worth 8 smackers.
Re: First Impressions: Batman: Arkham City Armoured Edition
Arkham City is a fantastic game that easily surpasses Asylum. If you've never played it before and still don't pick it up for Wii U you're a terrible person.

Re: Nintendo to Offer Triple Layer of Miiverse Moderation
Well, this is disappointing. All of my posts are likely to be deleted since they'll just be some variation of 8====D

Re: E3 2012: New Super Mario Bros. 2 Jumps onto 3DS 19th August
And now Wario is going to have to sue Mario for completely stealing his gimmick.
Re: E3 2012: Paper Mario Sticker Star Out This Holiday Season
Terrible subtitle but I loves me some Paper Mario.
Re: E3 2012: Mass Effect 3 Lands On Wii U
Mass Effect 3 is fantastic so I'm certainly glad to see Nintendo gamers be able to experience it. I wonder if it will include a synopsis of the first two games otherwise those who have never played it are going to be lost.
Re: Reaction: The Big Wii U Rumour Round-Up
Wait, there were rumors of a Metroid/Starfox crossover? What a horrible idea.
Re: Feature: The Best Moments of E3 2011
I hated the Nintendo 2011 conference. Too much teasing and not enough substance regarding the Wii U. Needless to say it left me with a serious case of gaming blue balls.
Re: Mario Kart 7 Update Available Now
Finally! It's unbelievable that it took so long but at least they patched it. I'm actually excited to get back to playing it online again.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend?
I just discovered Abobo's Big Adventure last night and it left me wondering what was coming next. So probably that.
Re: Talking Point: The Critical Importance of Black Ops 2
Whenever COD is even mentioned you can tell the comments are going to be particularly asinine. The shrillness here doesn't surprise me.
Re: Nintendo Reveals New Super Mario Bros. 2 for 3DS
NSMB Wii felt like a rehash of the original on the DS and judging from the screenshots it looks like the deja vu is going to be even stronger with NSMB2. Yawn.

Re: Pandora's Tower Sneaks into UK Software Chart
Mass Effect 3 losing the top spot to FIFA? Boo.
Re: Miyamoto to Show Wii U Mario at E3
The well is pretty dry for both NSMB and Galaxy so I'm hoping for something different.
If they absolutely have to rehash something, how about Mario Paint? I bet the tablet would open up some interesting ideas.
Re: The U.S. Sales Results are in for Nintendo
Yes! Mass Effect 3 is at the top where it belongs.
