Re: Soapbox: Even With The Arrival Of PS4 And Xbox One, I'd Still Pick The Wii U

Subie98

I got my wii u at the start of February as a birthday gift from my wife and mother, because its what I wanted. If I didnt have it id buy it this Christmas provided I was wanting to buy a system this Christmas. As much as I love my wii u I will be buying a ps4 as i have always owned sony systems next to my Nintendo consoles since sony broke into the market. However I will not be buying a ps4 til its been out about 10 months.

I bought xenoblade and last story but Pandoras tower was horrible. Didnt waste the cash on it. I rented it from my local library. finished two towers and said to hell with it. Im not above over grinding or tons of side quests. I 100% completed xenoblade in under 102hrs. But pandoras tower was way too repetitious. Being confined to that tower basically the entire game ruined it.

I like the gamepad and using it for an inventory screen or whatever. However I dont always want to use it either. I personally like having the option to use the pro controller too. Its been my controller of choice out of the pro being more comfortable. Not saying the gamepad isnt though. Also the battery life blows, even dimmed completely.

@SCAR392 the battery life is plenty reason to put it down. I really like the gamepad but the pro controller is more comfortable I think. Those are both reason to put it down for some. Especially the battery life of maybe 4-5hrs with the screen dimmed completely vs 80hrs. No brainer

Cant believe how much Nintendo turned this game around from its first trailer. I was so put off by it that I had zero interest and went as far as to think it was completely stupid. After the recent trailer and after seeing it nearly get perfect scores. Im totally eating my thoughts and will be getting it, but not til after ive bought or at least preordered smash bros4, mk8 and X. Those have a bit higher priority for me.

I dont generally take this sites reviews too seriously to heart. I find they are rated too low usually when it comes to anything third party. I come here for other news. The game is more of a 7.5

Still enjoying my copy and having fun pissing off people that complain about campers. Its fun to camp just to hear them get upset on the mic. Its just a game, its serious buisness to some of these people lol. Im not staying long enough to camp, I keep telling them im napping. Hah. feel free to add me, my nnid is the same as my name here.

@Kirk I have to say I get your complaint about nintendo but you go about things in a decently offensive wording most of the time to where you come off so ostentatious and pompous. I wont be checking back to see your response. I just figured youd like to know what most peoples issue with you is usually, since it seems to escape you.

Re: Review: Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag (Wii U)

@ricklongo I just beat my copy yesterday, only went for 90% complete. If I recall correctly it only cut away from the actual 1600s or whatever it is like 4 times for roughly...5-10 minutes each. Not nearly as cut away as you're thinking. I suggest getting it. Its roughly a 30-40hr game to complete. More if going for 100% pending on the skill level of said player.

Re: Wii U Isn't Getting Need For Speed: Rivals Thanks To Low Sales Of Most Wanted

Subie98

Its not like most wanted was a new game. Most of the people that wanted it got it when it came out on ps3 or 360. Not to mention it was more expensive on wii u. This shouldn't have been a shock to them. It was great on wii u but not worth the full price when others had it cheaper. I personally rented it from the library and beat it in a weekend.

Re: Eiji Aonuma Explains Why The Legend of Zelda Isn't a Yearly Franchise

@thesilverbrick oh. See, when i played oot recently, I started in the middle of the game. Was bored, dont ask. It felt clunky as all hell. I tried to play it for like 20 minutes and quit because of the controls. I thought to myself..howd I play this through back then? Maybe I had patience to get used to the controls then. Being I wasn't really vested in getting back into it. Mario 64 controls felt clunky but not that clunky. Dunno. I played starfox 64 recently too. I love that game. Again the controls were very blah. Maybe im just spoiled on current stuff. No....when I think about it there is plenty of snes games that just plain feel better.

@DerpSandwich agreed. I also didnt like how they did the dungeons. At least making you return to the same dungeons but extended it with a new area felt like they rushed it. What were they doing for the better part of 5 years? I see no excuse. By the time I had gotten everything and what not I was so burnt out on the game I didnt bother to fight the last boss. Shame. I had beaten every console zelda too. I was excited for that game. I was very let down.
