Re: Soapbox: 'Vintage' Used Game Prices Do Nothing to Encourage Customer Loyalty

StraTTtheRipper

I'm impartial to Game stop. I get some good deals from there from time to time, and them selling these games for those prices doesn't effect me at all because I could care less about either of those games. For those that do, the eBay and amazon prices are a lot higher than game stops, so the choice is yours. However, Game stop does do a lot of thing that I question. Like why sometimes a game is $19.99 new, but it's $17.99 used....doesn't make any sense to me, and you might as well just buy it new. A good example of that is Lego City Stories: The Chase Beings on 3DS. It sells at every other retails store for $29.99, but Game Stop wants $31.99 for it...umm, why? I also can't stand when you go to buy a game and the only copy they have left is the display case...come on, really? They can't afford to have display cases? Ask any toy or comic book geek that if you open something, it's not "new" anymore. Yeah, technically it's not used, but when I buy a "new" game and there's finger prints on the disc, and it isn't sealed, in my opinion, it's not new.

Re: Review: Kokuga (3DS eShop)

StraTTtheRipper

Well I finally picked it up after I got the $30 eshop credit for buying Shim and Fire and I must say, in my opinion, I don't care for this very much. Good thing I didn't technically pay for it, because I really would have been disappointed. The controls are awkward and the difficulty is hard to frustrating. Some of the stages I can't even finish them because I just get bombarded. Maybe with more practice and time, I'll appreciate it more, but as of right now, my personal honest opinion is, it's no ikaruga.

Re: Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara For Wii U "Has Been A Bit of A Nightmare" For The Producer

StraTTtheRipper

I definitely want this game for the Wii U. I don't pay for Xbox live because I don't game online enough to justify the price they want, and on PSN you will have to have a plus membership soon to play games online...I'd rather buy this for the Wii U and play it online with other people for free. I don't know who's fault it is, but hopefully it's because they do want the game to run correctly for the system. An estimated release date would be nice, though.

Re: Review: Kokuga (3DS eShop)

StraTTtheRipper

I'm sure it's worth the $15, but I'm still going to wait and see if it ever goes on sale. I'd definitely pay $10 for it no questions asked. I love Ikaruga, so I'm sure this game is good.

Re: Video: Reggie Explains Nintendo's Approach to Ensuring Wii U Success

StraTTtheRipper

He is right about one thing, it is about the games. It's not about how fast it is, or the power of the system, it is really about the games. You'll always have your die hard people that just have to have the latest and greatest system, with the best processors and the best graphics just to show off that they have the better system. Nintendo's games are what always had me stick by them no matter what, and will continue to do as long as they keep putting out great games for the Wii U and 3DS. He did make a mistake though, because the Xbox 360 is backwards compatible with most original Xbox games VIA patching, but oh well...and there were PS3 systems that played PS2 games, but we all know that didn't work out very well.

Re: Talking Point: The Wii U's Third-Party Concerns Are Brushed Off By 3DS

StraTTtheRipper

@shinobi88

I do agree with you on a certain level about hard core 3rd party games for the 3DS...the first party are all pretty much great games, but it does lack hard core 3rd party games....but, they did release a Call Of Duty game for the PS Vita, which turned out to be a disaster for the gamers and activision, so maybe that's another reason why nothing else has been done in that genre for the 3DS.

Re: Nintendo Download: 20th June (North America)

StraTTtheRipper

This is a pretty good week for games, DLC and discounts. Why did the Wii U get skipped for the Dungeons and Dragons game? I just can't figure out why Nintendo can't get on the ball anymore. They need to step it up a notch, this is a perfectly good reason why 3rd party publishers are backing out. Anyway, does anyone know if the Wii U version of D&D will have online play?

Re: Time: Nintendo Is "Stumped" By The Wii U GamePad And Should Ditch It

StraTTtheRipper

I'm pretty sure Time magazine has no idea how the gaming industry works, especially in Japan. These companies are going to regret turning their backs on Nintendo later on down the road. The original Wii destroyed the Xbox 360 and PS3 in sales, and it looks like it might happen again, especially since the new Xbox will be $500 and the PS4 will be $400. If Nintendo drops the price, or even offers more with the current prices, the sales will pick up. The United States is still in economic trauma right now, and people don't have $500 to blow on some Xbox they can talk too. I will admit, Nintendo needs to stop messing around with game releases, I know they want quality games to come out, but they had plenty of time to get them out there. I think the lack of games are what's killing the sales right now, it has nothing to do with the game pad.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Is Recalling Wii U Basic Bundle

StraTTtheRipper

Eh, I actually bought the basic set because where I live the black set was hard to find at the time. That's not really fair to anyone who bought a basic set and got stuck with 8 GB of space. Doesn't matter, I bought a 32 GB flash stick and it works great on my Wii U.

Re: LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes

StraTTtheRipper

I always wondered if the Lego games for the 3DS are the same as the Wii/360 versions? I have Lego Star Wars 3 for 3DS, and It's nothing like the 360 version...It's actually better in my opinion.

Re: Microsoft: If You're Backwards Compatible, You're Really Backwards

StraTTtheRipper

that guy is so lame...I can't stand him for some reason. I made use of the BC for my 360, Wii, Wii U and my 3DS. I would think that most people would, especially when places like game stop have a deal to trade in your old system for a new one. I got $100 credit for trading my old 3DS for the XL. All I can say about the X-Box One is....good luck trying to sell that. It doesn't seem like a good idea for casual gamers...only hard core fans that HAVE TO HAVE the latest hard ware right away.
