NIntendo Life Scoring Policy

7 - Good
A seven is not average in our eyes. This game will sport a few areas where the game is blatantly let down to the detriment of its overall quality and enjoyment, but it is NOT average. A seven is still a recommendation, but you might want to consider what we thought let the game down and decide for yourself if it would bother you before buying.
6 - Not Bad

This game is not good enough to rush out and buy without doing your homework. Whilst you should approach with a degree of caution you might still really enjoy this game. A good example of a six is a lazy sequel, it doesn't innovate but it doesn't really do anything wrong. Other games with a six may be flawed in crucial areas.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Emphasizes the Wii U's Unique Content in Sales Pitch

They do not have the big mainstream third party games to keep it stable. If Nintendo games is all that will keep it a float then they should except gamecube results.

It is hard to invest in a unique game, because it is a huge financial risk. If Wii U can't get people to buy it with the current games it has, why on earth would third party take a risk putting their games on it. The harsh reality is the majority of people who play games don't want to differentiate from the current games they have(unfortunately sales show that). That means that a majority of unique games will end up on all of the other systems just because third parties believe those systems have a better future(wait to be seen). This gives Nintendo no advantage what so ever. Most of the unique games don't take advantage of the Wii U Pad.

Quite frankly Nintendo needs to literally start buying out companies to start making games that won't end up on other platforms (AAA quality) that maximizes their game pad and their system. Nintendo exclusive that come out years apart with the same IPs is not going to cut it in the long run.

Is it a risk,.. yes, but you can't spend the wheels forever.

I admire the effort and time Shinen puts into their games. It is truly hard to create a strong personality or style that is effective these days in the game industry. I'm sure they will come up with one, it takes a lot of experimentation to get there. Looking forward to their next projects.

Re: Poll: Is Nintendo's Wii U Advertising and Marketing Doing Enough?

Spectator

I'm sorry, it's like beating a dead horse, but Wii U's marketing has been non-existent on TV. I've seen more 3ds commercials on Pokemon than Wii U marketing in the last year. I've seen 12 xbox one commercials within 2hrs last night. Nintendo is failing and failing badly with their marketing. At the rate they are going they will be overshadowed by Microsoft and Sony for a long time. Get it together Nintendo show what you already have, maybe 101, maybe third party, even your own games.

The sad part is people know Sony and Microsoft were going to advertise the hell out of their stuff, you guys have to counter.

@SetupDisk
I agree, consoles these days seem to have a longer shelf life then ever before, the biggest competition for the Ps4 and Xbox one will be their own systems. No one will be in a rush to upgrade unless these new systems come out with more must have titles. I don't see it happening if they are available on all the systems, there is no reason to upgrade at the moment, not to mention if they cut the prices of their older systems. 3rd party still have more of a reason to put their games on older systems (large userbase). Its going to take a much longer time for people to move onto these next systems, not to mention the economy still sucks.
