So the Japan version is a bit cheeky, eh? NoA seems to be changing some very trivial things in their games for the 3DS releases. A bit silly in my opinion.
@Nintenjoe64 They also took the word "cocaine" out of Same Old Song and Dance by Aerosmith in Guitar Hero III. Seems a little silly with all the other "suggestive" things in the game...
I wouldn't, but now if someone wants one of these games, people are even more likely to resort to piracy for them. That is just bat.... crazy for them to price it that high.
@SCAR392 The guy who made Gunman Clive got a start with Wii Homebrew before making Gunman Clive. Colors! 3D was originally Colors! for DS homebrew. Just most amature developers dont have money to get an official devkit and publish their game through the eShop.
@Dyl_73 They can be used in a bad way (pirating, which is illegal and to me, immoral), or in a way that isn't pirating (homebrew, video watching, etc). Going after the sellers is more like going after a blank CD/DVD/SD Card creator for what people were using the products for.
While it was a pretty lame flashcard, the Max Media Player/Games 'n' Music card by Datel (maker of Action Replay) made one that only supported homebrew. I wish there was a 3ds compatible flashcard like that - then it wouldn't be possible to use it for DS/3DS retail games.
@SoftEgg I just meant in comparison. I'm a developer too, and I can imagine how much work went into it! Do you plan on keeping RCa in the DSiWare store too? And why not call it Rhythm Core Beta =P
Pretty epic. I've spoken to the developer himself for support for the first RCA - very helpful, and very nice. $10 feels a little on the high side, considering I can pick up Korg-10 used for half the price. I might get this if there happens to be a sale.
"those with enough savvy to acquire those ROMS for free" Wouldn't say you'd need savvy. Downloading ROMs is as easy as downloading homebrew.
I don't think the manufacturers should be to blame for piracy using their device. That's like suing the maker of a blank DVD because people recorded pirated shows to it.
@ErnisDy You cannot play games outside your region with this cart. In an interview, the creators basically said its running the game right off the SD card - no middleman in between like DS flashcarts. It runs the signed code, which means that it is region locked.
@rayword45 Yeah it did. It really did. But it was what first got me interested in homebrew. Actually it was their Max Media Player... same thing for the most part. But yes it sucked. Just using it as an example.
I wish the people who pirated didn't get lumped into the same group of people who use homebrew games.
@GiftedGimp This is true. The question I was answering was if it was ok for old systems. I do hope that Nintendo doesn't have a banning system for modded consoles unless they were caught pirating.

While I don't think it means the end of Nintendo, that controller looks way better than most others I have seen.
Re: Nintendo Updates Available Club Nintendo Reward Games in North America
Debating on getting Dillon's Rolling Western... I'm a lefty, so I don't know how well I'd fare with it.
LttP is tempting as well... If it was 3DS I would have insta-bought it.

@JudgeMethos That was so awful it was good.
Re: Nintendo Disables Swapnote's SpotPass Service Due to Online Safety Concerns
How is this any different than the Video Chat in Pokémon Black and White...? This is less...interactive.
Seems completely idiotic to remove the online feature... I'll miss conversing with my Japanese friends from Animal Crossing through it... =(
BTW - Gotta love the moderating of the comments. GG TBD.

@MrMario02 I wouldn't say that. Considering there are already devices that can backup/restore save data for 3ds games, its possible.

-sigh- The product makers/sellers shouldn't be in trouble. I feel bad for them. It is the user who chooses what they do with it.

Re: Evidence of a Functional 3DS Flashcard Emerges
@Pierceton The best we have at that is the Petit Computer. I would buy a homebrew dev kit if Nintendo made one for sure.
People fail to realize that Colors! 3D was originally a homebrew app for the DS. Gunman Clive's creator made a homebrew game for the Wii as well.
Re: Evidence of a Functional 3DS Flashcard Emerges
@jamiljamtheman Yes a lot of the flashcarts work on the 3DS, they just only play the nds format.

Re: Evidence of a Functional 3DS Flashcard Emerges
Sigh.. can someone make something like the Games 'n' Music where it only does homebrew?
@mr570 I noticed that too when I saw the vid on ds-scene. Very far from market status still.
On a side note... a girl on the internet (in the vid)? What is this sorcery?!

Re: Assassin's Creed Creator Fired From Ubisoft Less Than Two Months After Rejoining
Probably some kind of reason he was fired. However, I would doubt a large company would announce why.
And I'm sure he'll be allowed back in to get his stuff in a few days.

Also, on that point, don't forget that most cable providers have DVR's available.
