I can understand DLC passes that add extra characters and tracks. But to include microtransactions in a $50 game that makes it feel like you don't have everything and need to spend extra money to get extras that should be included in the game is absolute garbage. In game currency should only exist in free to play games, but I'm shelling out $50 just to play it and Square Enix has the ignorance to beg me for more money to play as cloud or get other characters then I won't buy it all. Amazing how game companies and just companies in general are so out of touch and hate their consumers.
I have recently got into the castlevania series with it being introduced to me through the SNES classic and Super Castlevania. I decided to pickup Castlevania advance collection and love it. They're having a hard time making new games it seems but they should remake or port Symphony of the night to the current gen and that would be a big hit because of how much acclaim I've seen people have for that game.
I mean my brother has a slightly bent switch from an accident, it still works and but he also plays 40% handheld so the upgrade makes sense for him. I play almost exclusively docked, have an ethernet adapter, and a 4k upscaler. This upgrade isn't for me. And I think we needed a pro and not another variant. Though with this market, I think there would be PS5 and Xbox series x levels of frustration when it comes to the limited availability of a pro version. This is a way to jog switch sales to a select part of the market who needs an upgrade because damage or are frequent handheld players. The decision does have some sense to it, and yes with the market starving for computer chips and graphics cards It does seem like a safe option for nintendo. Though it will probably sell well thanks to scalpers and nintendo will think it was the best upgrade because of sales, when really I do think most fans want a pro. But this is a safer less frustrating way to expand overall which is why I think they went with it. Maybe next year they'll commit to a pro version. Given how well the switch has sold I think it will have a long console life especially if a pro is introduced to help keep the switch up with games coming out.
"Smash is for good boys and girls"(I know that the Japanese quote was about keeping the current rating for the game) I feel like that kind of went out the window pretty fast. Not that I really care either way but I feel the interpretation hasn't been very consistently applied.
I played the Demo and instantly decided to pre order it. It's that good and I absolutely enjoyed playing with my brother. If you've ever played Four Swords adventure on the gamecube, this is the "sequel" you've been looking for.
@Zach777 I suppose Expectations plays into it a bit, but honestly I'm disappointed because there was nothing new that really jumped out at me as "Yes that is something I want to buy, I'm excited for that". I'm not saying I'm entitled, because I'm only entitled for what I pay for. And at least for me, Nintendo won't be getting too much of my money in the near future as there is not much they showed that I'm really willing to buy. (Besides Monster Hunter Rise but I already knew about that and am going to buy it, there's no question.)
@Ainz agreed. I don't want to see Nintendo become a monopoly like Disney. But I have no problem with Nintendo competing for brand space. I would love to see them expand and use their up in more areas like we're seeing mow with merch.
I'm not holding my breath for a Zelda Maker. Think about all of the technical challenges and variation that would have to be managed. How many items do you have in a certain Zelda level? How many hearts? Secret moves? Master sword no master sword? What about styles? Some game styles might be pretty conflicting. A lot of people didn't like the gap between 3d world and the other styles. I feel Zelda could have the same problem. And the last thought I had was the joy of Zelda is the item progression and puzzle solving especially back tracking. When I get a new item I like to go back where I've already been and see what new stuff and areas I can reach. Zelda Maker could never hold up to the same standard unless you could craft entire campaigns, but then the creation would be a LONG process. The short level design of Mario maker is fun and is the core of Mario in general. Overworld mixed with dungeons is the core of Zelda.
@NotTelevision That is a good point. What I enjoy about Zelda is the gradual puzzle and upgrades and solving puzzles I've seen before but can't yet solve until I get a new item. The joy is the whole process of unlocking secrets and abilities.
I once accidentally bought 2 years of Xbox Live Gold, and they easily refunded one year for me. No questions asked. If the Competition and Markets agency is concerned with auto renewals and refunds, I don't see how the big 3 is any different from Spotify, Hulu, or Netflix auto renewals that bill you automatically. Why isn't it a problem for those guys?
I played Civ VI on the PC when it first came out, but I didn't really enjoy sitting in the same spot playing one game for four hours. The fact that I can take the game with me and play wherever, and pause it, come home and plug it into the TV makes me really excited.

The poor guy has to make a circle with the joy stick to rotate a piece. I'm impressed he got as far as he did with those controls.
