Great game so far! Anyone else have the issue that the system does not record your time played for this game? Normally a game will ask which user and attribute the time to the users profile but I have nothing for this game. When I open up the parental controls app it states that the time logged on this game is not assigned to a user.... I have never had that happen.
A Virtual Boy Mini with every game from both NA and Japan! Or simply a virtual boy app that works with the VR Headsets you put your phone into, should also be played using the joy-cons. Then everyone would be able to enjoy one of the finest platformers of all time in Wario Land VB. Perhaps they would be able to sell more of these than the original run!
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Only time will tell, but I would certainly bet the farm that Nintendo's targets will be met if not surpassed. With analysts predicting sales of between 18-22 million units to end March 2018 I firmly believe that Nintendo's 14 million figure is conservative. They've already sold 35% of that target without the holiday season which has shown in the past to amount to anywhere between 50-60% of fiscal year sales. Considering this they would have to take a severe nosedive come January to not sell through 14 million units. As a shareholder I do have my money where my mouth is, so now we play the waiting game.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE They have sold 7.63 million units right up until end of September, on the strength of 2.9 million units July-September. They have upped their forecast from 10 million units in fiscal year 2018 (April 2017 - March 2018) to 14 million. If you combine that amount with the 2.74 million sold in March of 2017 you have 16.74 million in sales through to March 2018. I would say that is likely a conservative figure seeing as how Nintendo generally offers conservative targets. These targets have been surpassed with each new earnings report.
I still have not beat the game due to a game breaking glitch I encountered at the final boss which has been causing my game to crash during the boss' first move. I contacted Ubisoft and they said I should change the characters in my team. I haven't done that as I want to beat the game using the team I have built my entire strategy around. I'm waiting for a patch to fix this before eventually finishing the game. If anyone is curious the team I use is Mario, Luigi and Rabbid Luigi. The game freezes after I set up both Mario and Luigi's special skill and Luigi takes his third shot during the boss' first turn.
It's 18 million over the fiscal year which ends March 31st 2018. This would mean that over the next 7 months (plus whatever remains in August). I would say that with the way sales are at the moment if you were to include the holiday season where they would likely increase shipments, 18 million seems pretty spot on. Currently, official numbers state 4.7 million consoles sold since March 3rd to June 30th 2017 (120 days). There are 275 days remaining in the fiscal year since the last published sales figures. If the same sales pace is maintained that would put switch sales at 10.77 million during that period, for a total of 15.47 million sales lifetime by end of March 31st 2018. If we assume supply will increase, as stated in the article, and holidays sales bump, that 2.53 million difference seems quite achievable. I would actually be quite surprised if they didn't reach 18 million by the end of March 31st 2018.
@AishiVeen I've had that happen, you can hold the power button for 30 seconds and the system should restart itself. The lady I spoke to at Nintendo said it could happen as a result of something wonky happening with an update or download in the background.
It's not really fair to say the switch is under performing compared to the Wii at this point since the Switch launch has taken place in March compared to the Holiday season release of the Wii. The Switch is on pace to have a better initial 12 month period than the Wii once you are able to compare each having a Holiday season under their belts.
Nintendo has been extremely strategic this time around with a March release, early adopters will be out of the way paving the road for Mario Odyssey to be an actual system seller where Nintendo will sell additional systems to those that would not have bought the system otherwise. There will be a different reason for the stock shortages, and Nintendo will finish its first full year switch cycle much higher than initial projections, both internally and externally.
@ThomasBW84 I don't feel that these modern "VR'" headsets are really virtual reality gaming either. More like a 360 degree perspective. Virtual Reality is when you are completely immersed in the world, your movements are tracked and recreated. At the moment games are played in a 360 degree perspective and space where our movements are still controlled by a controller and actions performed by button presses. This is no more virtual reality than what the virtual boy offered, albeit in a much more advanced and beautiful manner, simply added the 360 degree perspective.
I really appreciate the comments and glad you enjoyed the level
With the Ghost clown car room, I agree that it is difficult, maybe a bit too much. Originally I didn't even have the star haha but after a few playthroughs I realized I needed something for the player to be safe for a certain amount of time before they figure out what they need to do. I thought about subtracting one of the big boos but then thought that once the player has figured out how to get to that door the next playthrough would be much easier and they could focus on figuring out how to maneuver that area.
The best way to make your way around the boos in the clown cars is to stay low and have them come down to you. They should come far enough left and leave you enough room underneath them that you can pass under and head up to the P switch and door.
Thank you again for giving it a try and providing your feedback.
@mawnsson I'm looking forward to checking out your level. I have fond memories of playing ghost mansion levels of this ilk back when super mario world came out. I was always so amazed and proud when I finally figured out how to navigate through each new room and how they intertwined. I will comment if I find Yoshi... that is my goal.
I have a Ghost level as well which has multiple rooms, you have to find two items to advance to the end of the level. You are teased with being able to see the goal from a few different rooms.

I used to have this game on the NES, absolutely loved it and will be picking this up. Now only if they would make a Virtual Boy version!

Day 1 buy for me if released in NA. I have the original on NES and my brothers and I spent lots of time and have gone memories of this game.
