Holy crap...indeed you are right, no way to raise an objection here. Indeed I got fooled by a gaming news. Oh well, whatever, that doesn't change my statement that much...Wii version (and PC as well) deserved better art. PW on bigger screen it doesn't look so nice as in hand held consoles, huh?
To tell the truth, the review is fair enough. If the DS version had the touchscreen support to select menus, then why WiiWare version didn't support the WiiRemote pointing ability? It really blows my mind because it would make it so much user-friendly for casual players. Also, the presentation are enough to lower the score 4 points, because Capcom were really really lazy here. Some better quality artwork, like the japanese PC version, would be nice indeed.
In fact, I wish the WiiWare version will fail both in critics and sales, because with this Capcom will learn a lesson or two and might create a decent port of the originals next time.
My guesses are: Opa Opa, Arle Nadja, Space Harrier guy and hmmmm...yeah the E-Swat cop XD Ok the four above are impossible, but I would really enjoy if they include at least Shinobi Joe, or Tyris Flair from Golden Axe...
Nah...most mature games focus more on violence than in gameplay, I can live without them. And the good ones (Madworld for example) had zero market. Marketing is the soul of business, right? Also on-rail shooters are not what Wii gamers want, and 3rd parties can't understand it. They should create great games and stop complaining like babies.
Btw, nice picture, the best of the year hahahahahah!
Well, according to the text the problem here is not about how many energy Wii is using, but how Nintendo consoles are made. I wonder if Greenpeace is telling the truth, but I guess our world is more important than a videogame business company...
Of course Wii Fit won't help if people decides to use it for 20 minutes and later for 4 minutes. Even in real gym you wont change a lot with only 20 mins. Also, I didn't play Wii Fit, but if you can lose weight with DDR and even We Cheer, then I'm pretty sure with long sessions of Wii Fit you can lose a few pounds.
There's also a demo version of this game to try on PC, just go to flowerworks website to check it. Although demos are something that Wiiware should make it available...but I'm glad Nocturnal made it available for PC. It does look odd at first but after you keep playing it, it's really fun! Nice game indeed!
There's a PC demo version of this game on the website. I tried it and it was pretty fun, but not enough to justify the 1000 points price. I would gladly buy it for 500 or 600 pts, but without 2 player mode and with only one puzzle mode, it's no way worth 1000 pts.
Well, it`s true that there are tons of Sonic collections, but it would be great to play it portable. Might get this if it`s cheap and if it doesn`t show speed issues like the sonic classic for GBA
Well, New SMB Wii surely will give a boost, but I think it won't be enough. PS3 is getting nice games and its price reduction made it more accessible now. Wii did get a price reduction, but we know that Wii software library has tons of crap and shovelware. Also, motion controllers for PS3 and X360 are on the way, and when it happens, many casual gamers might consider these consoles (project natal is something that will indeed attract many casual gamers because of its interesting concept). I hope Nintendo will act soon with some strategy to beat them all.
Pretty interesting to see Nokia promoting an emulator. Well it's a risky move but as diego_pmc wrote before, they'll probably get more money with sales than lose it against Nintendo lawsuit. A nice hand-held emulator is the dream of most retro gamers. And to tell the truth now I'm really interested in this machine.
This title should have been released at the launch of Wii Shop, but better late than never, right? This game is simply awesome, I still own my SNES cart and it brings great memories. Of course it's not as good as the other ones but it's still fantastic!
Now they should release Super Mario All-Stars, that would be instant buy to me, although I guess they won't release this game...
@121: Yeah you are right, I just checked it and every single link on wepray site shows a bizarre warning which lets you watch a trailer for Dante`s Inferno. Pretty interesting viral campaign in fact, but kinda disgusting as well.
Indeed pretty disappointing...why not do a serious remake with enhanced graphics. Instead they are using the GBA/DS graphics in it. Better stick with the DS versions I guess...
<ironic> Finally, the videogame I've been waiting for! They should also release a Wiiware version of this game, it would be #1 in a few days! </ironic> Seriously, this make Super 3D Noah's Ark a true classic.
For 500 points it's a great deal! I'll be downloading this tonight! Now, I do think Nintendo should try to make a Donkey Kong or a Mario Bros remake for WiiWare, whith lots of game modes and retro feeling! Hopefully Excitebike X is just the beginning.
Lol I used to play a lot with Klik 'n Play! Nice tool for creating games if you don't know anything about programming. But this is good news, hopefully a SF IV Wii is gonna be possible with this engine on Wii! Can't Wait!
@72: I wish BitBoy was 10% as good as Devil World. DW isn't a masterpiece from Shigeru Miyamoto, but it's a nice and fun pacman clone.
Nice to see an old Nintendo game getting a simple 3D remake for wiiware. I guess that if this game sells well, they might come with more remakes like Ballon Fight and Kid Icarus!
After reading the comments now I decided, FF will be my free NES game. I was a bit afraid to get it because of the patience you need, but it's nice to know that it's not necessary to do grinding if you use strategy, and that's just what I luv in table RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons or Gurps. So, Final Fantasy I, here I go!
@19: maybe not that tricky to offer VC demos, since they did that in Smash Bros Brawl. And I agree with you, there's no excuse for Nintendo, they should offer demos of WiiShop products. It would be really helpful and would avoid a lot of frustration, since anyone could check the product before spending points on it.
A friend of mine was sad because he got DSi and he had no games and here in Brazil they are very expensive. Later I told him about DSiWare and now he is having fun with a few games! But it's interesting that he didn't know anything about the online shop. I guess people should read more the instruction booklets.
I got it recently, for less than $15, and it was worth it! I really enjoyed the remixes in this pack, and the arcade ports are nice as well. I`m one of many people who thinks Namco should stop releasing lazy collections, but they tried to give a new life for this one, and the result is great! Hopefully new versions of Namco Museum will have more remixes as this one.
Oh yeah this game is awesome! Nice to play those 5 remixes, specially the Galaga remix which is lots of fun! Also there are the 9 arcade classics with DIP switches and 3 methods of control! A must buy for Namco fans!
Nice to see more konami support on VC! Hopefully we will see Rocket Knights Adventures soon! =D Btw, it would be nice if they release the original TMNT arcade as well, it would be awesome!
The users at IGN seem to be in the same position as bboy! And I agree as well, because IGN WiiWare reviews are the worst. They play like 2 minutes and think that they know the entire game. That's why I don't read IGN anymore.
Anyway, this game is awesome, but I'm afraid I'm gonna pass for now because I already have the DS version, although I'm pretty sure I won't resist and download it later, after all I luv Mr Driller games! =D
I remember this one, looks more like one of those Sonic-wanna-be's (I don't mean it's a bad thing, Sparkster and Mr. Nutz, for example, are awesome) but this one is not that good, too generic in every aspect (theme, gameplay, etc). But it's interesting to see a sequel of it.
Nice review Corbie, this game really deserves a 9. It might be the best game in the adventure island series, Hudson did a great job in this game. Too bad the Wii version is not as good as this one.
@#4: This series of gameboy reviews is to celebrate the 20 years of Gameboy (http://retro.nintendolife.com/news/2009/07/game_boy_20th_anniversary_special)
Yeah it's more like a DS simulator, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna sell like water, people will be fooled and go crazy like "OMG I can play NDS on iPhone!!!". But that Pixel Mania game looks cool, huh? It's so simple and looks so fun to play, it could be a DSi or WiiWare game.

Yeah! Ulala!! That`s great news!!!

I want the controllers from that photo! They are awesome XD

Re: Mega Man 10 Heading to WiiWare!
Wow, now I got an incentive to beat MM9...still trapped in Wily castle
Anyway, awesome news. MM9 was fantastic, so I hope this one will be even better with 3 characters. I guess Bass is the third one!

Re: Review: Bit.Trip Void (WiiWare)
@15: OBJECTION!!! (sorry, I've been playing a lot of Phoenix Wright recently hahaha)
Hmm, I've lost interest in this series after core, but this game surely looks fantastic! I'm gonna get it as soon as I get points...

Re: Hardware Impressions: Nintendo DSi LL
I'm planning to retire my DS phat, but I'm sure I'm not gonna get this beast. Better stick with the smaller DSi.

Re: Nintendo Download: Bikes, Frogs, Dragons, Bombs, Plankton and Cybernoids (US)
Excitebike and Frogger are definitely the best releases this week, I might try both of them, I hope both remakes are great!

I`m still deciding between Zelda and Final Fantasy...I want both of them...hard to decide!
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (21st Oct)
GO GO GO, LOST WINDS!!!
I hope it comes to be the first next week! Just bought it today and it`s just fantastic! It deserves the 1st position!
Re: Muscle March Marches Westward
Wow, never expected for this game to be released outside Japan! LOL it`ll be very interesting to see if it gets fans.
The gameplay is very interesting, the theme for the game is a bit disturbing but I might get it if it comes to America
Re: Captain Lou Albano Passes Away

Rest in Peace, Lou! We'll miss you...

Yeah this guy understood what makes Nintendo the best even when Sony was on the top with PS1 and PS2.
Re: Capcom Cordially Invites You To Decide The Next Versus Title
Capcom V.S. Capcom would be great =D
Ok, that was lame...well, Nintendo or Sega would be a nice choice!

Re: Super Nintendo Review Fridays
Super Mario All-Stars, Donkey Kong Country, Street Fighter II and Final Fantasy IV should be on the list
Re: TMNT To Spring An Arcade Attack On DS
@#1: Yeah that simpsons game were awesome! I wonder why it didn`t make to consoles though...
Anyway, I hope this game comes out good, TMNT games should be just like the classic Konami arcade games.

Re: Nintendo Download: Monkeys, Rattles, Fantasies and Puzzles (US)
Wiiware this week is a waste of money for me. At least we got Phantasy Star and Puzzle League, both great and addictive games!
Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - September 2009
Nice to see more konami support on VC! Hopefully we will see Rocket Knights Adventures soon! =D
Btw, it would be nice if they release the original TMNT arcade as well, it would be awesome!

Re: NinjaBee and Grubby Games Announce The Amazing Brain Train for WiiWare

Re: Nintendo Download: Ninjas, Picture Books, Slot Cars, Sudoku and Guitars (US)

But Revenge of Shinobi saved this week!
Re: DS Emulator For iPhone Hits The App Store

Re: The Portable SNES You've Always Wanted, But Can Never Have
Looks cool, but a hacked PSP, a GP2X and a Dingoo/Pocket Retro Game Emulator looks better!
But for a true portable SNES, I prefer the one shown at post #7
