Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Fails To Meets Sega's Expectations

Ryanm519

Can't say I'm shocked, played the demo and really didn't like the look or feel of the game play- about the only thing that got me close to buying this was Miku being in it and the potential for a good soundtrack. And frankly I may have impulse bought it for Miku had there been a Switch 2 version at launch, missing that window was a huge mistake imo. Wasn't about to buy a steam version knowing I wanted it on my switch, or sit around playing the low performance version for months. And by the time the S2 release came out my interest was long gone.

Re: Feature: "Demoralisation Is A Strong Word, But It Accurately Describes The Situation" - Why Do So Many Games Get Delayed?

Ryanm519

My problem here is that this is clearly a systemic issue with games. It’s something about how they’re marketed and expected. Because movie delays, album delays, almost any other art form and this stuff is so much rarer. I don’t know if that means there’s some kind of chronic issue with choosing release dates or what but it is frustrating. Layton for example, that should’ve never ended up this way. Either it was announced way too early or there is a massive disconnect between the time they started development and the progress of hardware. Communication between devs and platform holders is also clearly a problem.

Re: Poll: What Do You Make Of The Mario Galaxy Movie's Leaked Yoshi Design?

Ryanm519

TBH I am just stunned at the amount of Nintendo fans who still care about this movie. After seeing it in theaters I've never even remotely thought of re-watching the first one. Did we all forget how not great it was???? This is likely going to be more of the same- get ready to see Mario flying in space with Starman playing or something

Re: Poll: How Many New Games Do You Buy In A Year?

Ryanm519

Yeah... definitely more than once a month for me lol. This month for example, already picked up Hades 2, and will be getting Pokemon and the new Katamari. Alongside steam sale purchases of both NieR games, which aren't new ofc. However price does vary. I'll almost always buy at least two games in a month, but that doesn't mean one of them has to be 70 or 60 bucks. Though switch 2 this year is certainly making that more common.

Re: Look, Maybe We Should Stop Asking For A Sonic Adventure Remaster

Ryanm519

I get what he’s saying- but also there’s a huge chunk of the fan base who totally wants to and would be okay just playing the game as is! Even if it’s not a full remake or remaster, put it in HD and up res some things! It’s showing its age but we’ve gotten plenty of upgraded versions of dated games before.

Re: Poll: What's Your Switch (2) Game Of The Year So Far?

Ryanm519

So incredibly shocked that I’m not seeing more Mario kart world comments. It’s really the only option in my eyes and has eaten all my time since launch day. I think it’s absolutely incredible and fun and fresh. No brainer for me, Mario kart world is my current goty.

Re: Review: Dbrand Switch 2 Killswitch Case - Teething Troubles Aside, This Case Is Killer

Ryanm519

I will never understand the d brand cases, they’re so bulky and uninviting. This is a portable console! The thing adds an insane amount of weight and size. Even just the grips- to me this just completely destroys the point of the system. I’ve never gotten why they’re so popular for even the steam deck- do that many people want insane protection at the cost of portability or looks?

Re: Talking Point: Is Summer Game Fest Really Missing Nintendo's Presence?

Ryanm519

IMO this event needs to have some more public facing things. I get that it’s a work event for press, and that’s all well and good, but it also markets itself very much as a big showcase for gamers and fans, and the presentations do not reflect that. Not only did Geoff’s show cater to a specific kind of big CG experience, it felt extremely detached from what people want to see in general. And calling this a “fest” and then blocking off your big in-person event to the public? Bizarre. They need to either add a few public days, or move to a bigger convention center. Really, if anything, I think this shows that fans would be happy to attend a more well-managed, fan-focused E3, even if the showcases remain livestreams.
