Re: Review: The Lost Town - The Dust (DSiWare)

@slidecage as far as divarsity in gameplay goes, I do mention the customization in skill point allocation. There are also different weapons to use (some ranged and some not), so that would make a difference in your fighting style.

It's small things like that that end up forcing you to use different strategies each time you play. Download it and give it a try

Re: Review: Pro Jumper! Guilty Gear Tangent!? (DSiWare)

Ron_DelVillano

@GreenAbobo I'm glad to see that someone else appreciates all of those little details as well. I really was pretty impressed by this game. And that last boss really is a pain. You just need to figure out the right timing!

To everyone else: if you enjoy difficult platformers, you won't be disappointed.

Re: Shift Your Continuum with BlazBlue 3DS on 31st May

Ron_DelVillano

To all who are asking: BlazBlue is made by the same folks who brought us the Guilty Gear series of games. They are fast-paced 2-D fighters with crazy characters and huge flashy combos. And yes, they can get a bit "hardcore." If you've ever played Guilty Gear, then you should know what to expect.

The first BlazBlue was released on the PS3 and 360, but now there are a couple sequels for the PSP and PC. Personally, I'm glad to see these kinds of games coming to Nintendo consoles. There were a couple of Guilty Gear games for the Wii and DS, but I don't think they provided the same experience that the other console versions do. Here's to hoping that this one is good!

Re: Review: Absolute Baseball (DSiWare)

Ron_DelVillano

@Bulbasaurus there is not actual "managing' involved. Like I said in the review: you can change the lineup, distribute growth points, and tell you batter/pitcher what to do. But that's it.

I'm not quite sure what else you're looking for.

Re: Review: Rabi Laby (DSiWare)

Thanks, all.

@Phil, this really is one of those games where I kept going "all right. One more level and I'll put this down." Then, many levels later, I would realize that I got no homework done all week.

Re: Review: Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition (3DS)

Ron_DelVillano

@uel Green for "Go." As in "Go buy this game. Right now."

Also, I would get this because I love fighters, but they also make me RAGE. I should probably get something a bit more light-hearted or relaxing so I don't end up throwing my 3DS through a wall the first day I get it.

Re: Review: Paul's Monster Adventure (DSiWare)

Ron_DelVillano

@Cloudcult10 I'm glad somebody got that! The review for Paul's Shooting Adventure also contained a song reference, so i figured I'd make it a tradition. And it just happened to be somewhat appropriate.

And @MysteriousVoice please note that I said it's not a bad game, but that it's just very lacking. According to our Scoring Policy, this is the grade that I felt it deserved.

Re: Review: Dairojo! Samurai Defenders (DSiWare)

Ron_DelVillano

This review was pretty difficult to write. First, because there's so much in this game that it was hard to decide what really needed mentioning. Second, because I kept playing and saying to myself "one more round and then I'll write the review." But then I'd keep playing. It's a really addicting game.

Sorry for the wait, guys, but the game is worth it.

Re: Review: Fireplacing (WiiWare)

My parents had a Christmas party at their house a few years back. My dad too his video camera over to his brother's house and recorded their fireplace for about 5 hours. He then played the tape back at his own party to make it look like they had a fireplace. My dad thought it was funny, but I can guarantee that even he would not pay for this.
