@slidecage as far as divarsity in gameplay goes, I do mention the customization in skill point allocation. There are also different weapons to use (some ranged and some not), so that would make a difference in your fighting style.
It's small things like that that end up forcing you to use different strategies each time you play. Download it and give it a try
@GreenAbobo I'm glad to see that someone else appreciates all of those little details as well. I really was pretty impressed by this game. And that last boss really is a pain. You just need to figure out the right timing!
To everyone else: if you enjoy difficult platformers, you won't be disappointed.
To all who are asking: BlazBlue is made by the same folks who brought us the Guilty Gear series of games. They are fast-paced 2-D fighters with crazy characters and huge flashy combos. And yes, they can get a bit "hardcore." If you've ever played Guilty Gear, then you should know what to expect.
The first BlazBlue was released on the PS3 and 360, but now there are a couple sequels for the PSP and PC. Personally, I'm glad to see these kinds of games coming to Nintendo consoles. There were a couple of Guilty Gear games for the Wii and DS, but I don't think they provided the same experience that the other console versions do. Here's to hoping that this one is good!
@Bulbasaurus there is not actual "managing' involved. Like I said in the review: you can change the lineup, distribute growth points, and tell you batter/pitcher what to do. But that's it.
@Dez the tagline is making fun of how poorly the Micro sold. I was just expressing my sympathies for the poor under-appreciated and under-sold console.
@Phil, this really is one of those games where I kept going "all right. One more level and I'll put this down." Then, many levels later, I would realize that I got no homework done all week.
@uel Green for "Go." As in "Go buy this game. Right now."
Also, I would get this because I love fighters, but they also make me RAGE. I should probably get something a bit more light-hearted or relaxing so I don't end up throwing my 3DS through a wall the first day I get it.
@Cloudcult10 I'm glad somebody got that! The review for Paul's Shooting Adventure also contained a song reference, so i figured I'd make it a tradition. And it just happened to be somewhat appropriate.
And @MysteriousVoice please note that I said it's not a bad game, but that it's just very lacking. According to our Scoring Policy, this is the grade that I felt it deserved.
This review was pretty difficult to write. First, because there's so much in this game that it was hard to decide what really needed mentioning. Second, because I kept playing and saying to myself "one more round and then I'll write the review." But then I'd keep playing. It's a really addicting game.
Sorry for the wait, guys, but the game is worth it.
My parents had a Christmas party at their house a few years back. My dad too his video camera over to his brother's house and recorded their fireplace for about 5 hours. He then played the tape back at his own party to make it look like they had a fireplace. My dad thought it was funny, but I can guarantee that even he would not pay for this.
Awesome. I was wondering if this was ever going to make it over. I have a retail copy of the game, but for 800 points, now no one in North America has an excuse not to own this gem!

Re: Three New Rewards Hit Club Nintendo in North America
I'm definitely grabbing a giant AR card.
Can't wait to play this in my front room while all of the neighbors walk past my window and wonder why I'm running around in circles.

Re: These Are Your Club Nintendo Elite Rewards
I'm actually really excited about these pins. The Mario hat and statue were cool, but this is something that I could actually use!
Re: Review: Pro Jumper! Guilty Gear Tangent!? (DSiWare)
@Popyman You got that right! It reminded me of a watered down version of those games. If you like those, then I'd definitely recommend this one.

Re: Big John Games to Just JAM on NA WiiWare Next Month
Big John Games is the best company name ever.
Re: Review: B Team - Episode 1: Dust & Steel (DSiWare)
Well done, Jon.
And I absolutely love that you called it a "second-tier shoot-show." The less punny version of that is one of my favorite naughty phrases
Re: Your First Look at the Wii U Console
I lol'd.
Re: Review: House, M.D. - Globetrotting Episode I (DSiWare)
@dan563 that does look a little shady...
But in all seriousness, there is a scene in this game in which House hits a man in the groin with his cane.
Re: Nintendo Download: 20th May 2011 (Europe)
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm VERY excited for the review of Calculator.
You Europeans always get the good stuff...
Re: Nintendo Download: 13th May 2011 (Europe)
If you enjoy disappointment, then you'll love Remote Racers!
Re: THQ Cancels Saints Row: Drive-By for 3DS
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHRRRRGRHGHGHFLJ.
This was one of my reasons for purchasing the 3DS. If anyone needs me, I'll be in the corner weeping.
Re: Review: Word Searcher Deluxe (WiiWare)
Much better suited for the portable players, but still lacking any form of variety to keep it interesting.
Well done, Jacob.

Oh BABY!
I will probably be retiring SSFIV at this point.
Re: Nintendo Download: 18th April 2011 (North America)
ONLY ONE VIRTUAL CONSOLE GAME? WHAT IS THIS GARBAGE?
NINTENDO IS DEAD.

I'm not quite sure what else you're looking for.

I like the GameBoy Micro
Re: WiiWare, Fez Developer Does Not Like You At All
Haha. That's a great quote.
He is clearly a rude dude with a 'tude!
Re: Competition Winners: Signed Monster Tale and Soundtrack
Congrats on the win! I may need to borrow that game when you're done...

Re: Konami's 3DS Sudoku Collection Includes Bomberman
I am absolutely in love with the idea of this game.
Re: Review: Remote Racers (DSiWare)
Thanks everyone! And I was looking forward to playing this one too. It's really too bad that it didn't turn out so well.
Re: Review: My Little Baby (WiiWare)
Henry, you're the man.
Re: Push Your Parking Skills to the Limit in Valet Parking 1989
I'm guessing this game takes place in 1989 because that is the year I was born, and thus the world became a much better place. You're welcome.
Re: Review: Panda Craze (DSiWare)
Phil gets all the good stuff.
Re: Triple Sports Developer Code Monkeys Closes its Doors
Poor Phil! What will he have to review now?!
Re: EA Weed-Whacks Gardens from Production
Dang. Another great launch title lost to the tides.
Re: Review: Model Academy (DSiWare)

Re: Live Text: 3DS Events in Amsterdam and New York

Re: Nintendo's 3DS Events - We Want Your Questions!
Will it have NES Zapper support, or will it utilize any other gun peripherals?
Re: Nintendo's 3DS Events - We Want Your Questions!
On a scale from Power Glove to Virtual Boy, how awesome will the 3DS be?
Re: Look Out Fireplacing, You've Got Competition
I wish this would be released as DSiWare. I would love to be able to enjoy a relaxing fire while on the go.
Re: Review: G.G Series: Z-ONE (DSiWare)
Forgot to mention, I got one of the worst hand cramps of my life while playing this game.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Re: Documentary About Muscle March's Creator Explains So Much
This is seriously my favorite WiiWare game. My cousin and I play this whenever we hang out. It's absurd, but hilariously fun.
Re: Nintendo Download - 17th December 2010 (Europe)
Enter the Konami code in My Fireplace. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS.

Re: This Safe Sex Video Owes a Surprising Amount to Mario and Mega Man
I think this is my new favorite thing in the entire world.
Also, I was hoping that the house at the end would do the Super Mario World style implosion.
