Ordered my Nintendo pins yesterday. For all the money it costs to reach Platinum status, they should be giving away free games.
THIS is what I spent an hour filling out surveys complaining about the lack of Mother 3 for?
So, nothing for the UK? again......
yeah but at least the pins seem kool...
@3DSneedsRPGs Europe never gets "year-end" Club Nintendo rewards. We just get a way more awesome Stars Catalogue.
Who needs Xenoblade?
Not a bad year to not reach elite. I was worried it was going to be something really sweet like that figurine last year. I will be happy with my calendar this year.
Pretty boring prize, but at least its something. But still, WHY NO ZELDA RELATED GIFT?!?!?
I wanted an ocarina, instead tehy give us pins. Prizes are getting more boring each year. Sigh, at least its free.........................................................................
LOL I'm not all that upset that I didn't earn those rewards.
I'm kinda curious as to what they mean by puzzle boxes, but I guess I'm ok with a calendar.
@Koto They gave away a Zelda soundtrack for registering Ocarina 3D and will give out a different soundtrack for Skyward Sword
I really like this pin set. Nice packaging, cool designs. 3rd year of platinum for me.
ugh decisions decisons how will this get into the apartment is it the mailpersons job to bring it up to the designated apartment door?
Pin time!
...where's my Ocarina, Club.Nintendo?
Some of these things go on eBay for a nice some of cash.
Not bad, but I would have liked to have seen a Zelda 25th Anniversary prize. Still these pins will have a place in my display case, next to (or just behind as my case is getting a bit cramped) my Mario hat, Mario Statue and the cool box the statue came in.
Got gold status this year, but the pins don't seem that great either
I'm actually really excited about these pins. The Mario hat and statue were cool, but this is something that I could actually use!
I was hoping for something Zelda-related. Mario is getting all the attention while his Nintendo buddies are well... in the back seat
For the first time, I'm happy I'm getting the calendars this year. I can get pins like this on Ebay for about $2 right now.
Wow picked a good year not to hit Platinum. Jeez NOA. Just keep beating down your core fans...
I am very pleased with the pins. They look quite classy.
@19. I took a gander at the bootleg crap currently on Ebay. What is available is not even in the same league. Get real!
But you can sell these pins for a lot more on Ebay.
@Corbs I hope you actually used all that money to buy your games and not for Platinum status.
....I thought we were supposed to get this...figurine, thing...but, pins?...sighs
Whatever, not like I got Platinum/Elite/whatever they call it now anyways. >_>
...........................pins?
Pins? Really? It's like Nintendo wants me to drop them like a bad habit or something.... 12 retail titles worth of Wii games registered.....and I get tiny pins. At least the calendar has some utility....what the hell Nintendo? This is definitely the last year I take club Nintendo at all seriously...
It's last year's Japanese club rewards I believe... guess they made quite a lot of them...
The same. stupid. calendar. with a 2012 on it. whoo...
Platinum Done!
Pins? Is this what the kids are into these days? I remember pins were cool in 1987 when I was 6, didn't know they are cool now.
For those complaining: Nintendo is the only gaming company giving anything away at all that I know of (could be wrong) and honestly, flipping out over something someone gives you makes you look like a child.
Don't forget there's also all the other rewards you still get to spend your coins on.
I just started collecting pins and badges
These are just great, thanks Nintendo!
Keep on Trolling Us NOA apparently your just loving it.
Oh my god, YES! I reached Platinum and Elite this year!
Heck yeah!
I just ordered the pins
I'm really happy.
Seriously why are some of you complaining? It really isn't that bad. I think they look cool and there are a lot of them. I understand they could have given us something bigger and better but all club nintendo prizes are free. Plus they have no shipping or tax. I mean maybe not the greatest prizes but it is a little something extra for filling out the surveys. Plus you already pay for the game it's not like they charge extra because this club nintendo thing. All of this is free so be happy they even do this.
These look pretty great, actually. I approve.
I liked what I got the first year. That punchout bonus game. But this and last years things are crap. I wish they gave us more virtual things like I don't know, a free VC game or two. That would be awesome. Screw that thing to get games that aren't coming here. Lets have "Operation better end of the year gifts like VC games." Now that is something I would support.
I love how people are complaining about people complaining and now I'm complaining about people complaining it's a never ending cycle...
I ENTERED IN THE WRONG ADDRESS.
AND I CAN'T CHANGE IT IT SAYS MY GIFT HAS ALREADY BEEN REDEEMED.
WHAT.
THE
HECK
DO I DO
Wow, that is really lame.
In My 1st year... All I get is a calender... Dangnabbit.
Mehhh....I think it's been a year since I last went on Club Nintendo.
So I forgot to register my games this year. I was kicking myself until I saw that all I was missing was small pins that I would never actually use.
@ryanthehedgehog: first you quit yelling on the internet, then you contact Nintendo, of course. they'll fix it for you; it's not like the gifts have been shipped yet anyway. :3
I like the pins, but I was really wanting something Zelda related instead. :/ Oh well, it's free. Can't really complain!
I only made Gold this year, so I get the disappointing calendar. The pins would have at least been something more usable, but can't compare to last year's amazing statuette.
Just hit platinum status today so I didn't qualify for this years prize. I would rather take the gamble of something better next year.
Hopefully Zelda related like everyone else is saying?
@ryanthehedgehog
I hope it was my address you entered. I'd love to have 2 sets.
Wow... each year has gotten less and less spectacular. I... really have no interest in pins, but I've never cared for the calender either, but eh... I'll add this to the collection of Nintendo platinum rewards I got the last 2 years.
Am I the only one just settling with the calendar? I dont feel like looking like a boy scout.
Holy cow! I don't want pins! where is my Wii/SNES controller? why can't they bring that to the USA? this is the worst platinum gift ever, wasn't worth the trouble.
so after all the cash i spend getting platinum status all i get is a pen lame i wonder what awesome prize japan will get this year they always get the very best from nintendo
Those pins are cool, and the puzzle boxes are especially cool. Definitely not complaining.
Considering the fact that I actually PLAY the games I buy, I consider this to be a nice bonus. I feel sorry for all of the people that bought 13 copies of Wii Fit plus in the hope of getting a Super NES classic controller.
I got the calendar last year, I think I might actually go for the pin collection this year. It's free, I suppose. I still wish they would just give out a coupon for either 500 nintendo points for $5 worth of Eshop cash to premium members. They made around $600 off of them, $5 to each can't be that bad. Seems easy to me, but maybe I'm missing something.
Square Enix gave out iPod touches last year....
Sometimes I think I should just stick with gold. At least the calendar is useful.
It's a free prize, so I can't really complain, but CN has been declining. From the SNES classic controller/Gold Wii Wheel in Japan, to Mario Hat or Doc Louis's Punch Out our first year, to a large mario statue to...pins...not really even pins, buttons. I could make these with an inkjet printer and a button making kit from any craft store. At least the packaging is creative.
NOA is making too much money, I think. Why put any effort into nice prizes to reward multiple game buying fans and printing small disk runs of Xenoblade, when you can just have the factories keep turning out copies of Wii Sports Resort, Mario Kart, and NSMB Wii nonstop and sell millions even years after release?
ಠ︵ಠ
Yeah, you all seem unhappy about the pins, so: burns everyone's pins and now they get nothing Happy now?
Haha, I've been sitting on so many surveys and codes over the last 8 months or so that I've already hit Platinum status for the 2011-2012 year. Woohoo \o/
Also, I was a little bummed about the pin set, since I was expecting some Zelda thing, but they're actually not too bad, upon closer inspection. It's the same thing Japan got last year, pretty much. Maybe they'll get a Zelda reward this year, and if we're lucky NoA will give us that next year in the same fashion.
Pins are wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better then the little statue you got last year. >.>
The pins suck, but they're free anyway, so I don't complain.
Kinda glad I spent all those coins on the Game & Watch replica, at least that way I'm not entirely disappointed!
Still, that statue last year was so rad, I thought something at least as rad as that would be this year, so I didn't want to miss it. And.... pins.
I'm glad that I reached Platinum Status this year. The pins look awesome (but of course I'm not going to use them, since I want them to stay in mint condition.).
And for people that say that these pins suck and that they're worth $2 bucks on ebay, there going from $40-$60 bucks right now.
Just ordered mine. I just got the DS reversible bag in the mail and it is sweet, so I can't wait for the pins.
Am I the only one who thinks these Pins are awesome...
Y'know, I think people do have a right to be mad/sad about them giving such crappy gift items. Because, no matter which way you turn it, these gift items are a way for Nintendo to lure people into buying their games, and people do shell out a good amount of money for their products (especially Nintendo's own, mostly Mario, which hardly ever drop in price), and then to find out the gift item they've been buying so many Nintendo products to be able to get Platinum status, well I'd be pretty pissed off too.
@Yosher certainly people have the right to feel disappointed if they bought a lot of videogames just for a platinum reward, but only with themselves. As many people have said you should not be buying games you don't like just to get a free trinket. Just like you shouldn't go buy Hanna Montana's Cooking Frenzy for the PS3 just to get more trophies. But that's besides the point because this reward is actually pretty cool, and they're sending it to me for free for doing absolutely nothing that I wouldn't have done anyway.
I have always only went for gold and missed out on some cool stuff, so this year I went for platinum.
The one year I decide to go platinum, they give out pins. Oh well, I was sick of getting calendars every year, so its a nice change.
Alright guys, let me offer you this: you just amassed 600 coins to get this platinum reward. You know what from the catalogue you can afford now, with those 600 coins? It costs 550.
Yeah-- it's the MESSENGER BAG. What you can stick on a messenger bag? BUTTON PINS. Did I just blow your mind? Because just think about sticking 25 pins on that messenger bag and it instantly becomes amazing.
Cool pins!
I got platinum, but I still ordered the calendar because those pins didn't interest me.
Thats good I only reached 300 coins and stopped at gold status because the pins dont interest me. I really like my platium reward last year tho its chillin on my shelf right now.
These pins look pretty awesome. Glad I managed to make it to Platinum before the deadline; that's the hat trick...
Ya'lls haters! Ya'll jus' be hatin' on ma Ninteendo! These buttons are stupendous and glorious. I am so excited for my pins that it more than makes up for all the flaming flamers. I will pour my Nintendo love onto this website thereby melting all flamers and haters...go pins!
Got Platinum status, I find the pins to be very cool.
Was a little upset when I saw the word "PINS" listed under platinum status in my email... but the more I look at these pics the cooler they look...
Wow, you complain that you get something extra for having a high level of games registered? In Australia you get nothing no matter what. We don't even get bonus stars for games off VC/WiiWare/DSiWare and there's no post play surveys to get extra stars. We're run by Europe but we have next to nothing they do and because of that, it's hard for them to put new items up. The most amazing thing that happened recently was that we are actually getting the Ocarina Soundtrack CD. So I wouldn't be complaining when there are worse Club's out there.
That just makes me want to write a STRONGLY worded letter to NOE. Shame on them.
No Link hat. I was really looking forward to a Link hat to go with Mario's. 50th anniversary hat, is that what Nintendo's waiting for?
Well, sadly, I forgot to enter in my street address and the order process didn't go through (as Nintendo on the phone said) and it says I already redeemed. They said expect a call back today but no call. Trying to contact companys by phone and fix a simple problem is a big pain.
I find the pins really cool and look like a nice little collectible for me. They look awesome, and there's quite a few of them.
@SpoonyBard Europe is more lucky then us, check their rewards:
http://www.nintendo.co.uk/NOE/en_GB/club_nintendo/stars_catalogue_5823.html
For extra jealousy, check the first prize of page 4
Meh the pins aren't bad... but seriously who'd really use 'em?
NoA is just laughing their @$$es off trolling us.
A calendar this year and last for me! That kewls
Lame gift was lame :1
C'mon NoA, SNES Classic Controller already!
I love the pins! Can't wait to get them!
Not as cool as last years gift, but I don't think the pins are bad. Mainly because I LOVE retro Mario and this could look cool on my shelf. Just ordered mine, but I guess we won't see them for awhile, took a long time for the statue to come last time.
I've got 2 of those pin sets coming my way!
Pins are cool, but I think the calendar would be more useful to me. But those are still pretty sweet rewards
The pins are nice collectables and will be worth more than your average stack of cash in the future.
Gotta love being able to buy codes on eBay and other sources. Got Platinum Status on both of my accounts for the second year in a row for less than the cost of one game
Will be doing the same this Club Nintendo year too
Eh, the pins are kinda cool. Remember though, that doesn't mean we don't want 3 specific games coming to the US, Nintendo....
I got Gold Last Year, but this time i didn't got ehiter gold or platinium, im kinda sad cuz those pins look really cool! good for those that will get them
Wow, I can't believe people still have high expectations? lol
Really, no one to blame but yourselves.
In other news, nice pins! Can't wait to get them. The only disappointing thing is the wait, now!
Damnit. I am sick of mario crap! This is the best they came up with? It's sad to think i've been anticipating the announcement of the rewards for so many months to see pins. It's better than nothing I guess.
I think it wouldn't be so bad if e3 2011 didn't suck for Nintendo, they weren't screwing us over with localizing Japan-only games and the fact that we KNOW they can afford to give better rewards for our loyalty but they refuse because our country is "too big and hard to manage."
WOW! I'm seriously surprised at how many posts this story has!
@Ryno write on . me too. - I just ordered the pins - here comes eBay!
Just ordered my pins.
I rather would have gotten that Super Fiacom controller that the UK got. That would have been better than pins.
Unfortunately, this was my first year in Club Nintendo, and I kinda tapped out my entire Wii, DS and Gamecube collection to get where I am now...I probably won't be able to get Platinum OR Gold for next year. Sigh...
if u guys accidently put in the wrong address when u ordered call NoA imediatly with your order number and they MIGHT be able to change it
hope this helped
In future, please send out a warning. I forgot to register my gear and thus missed out on the badges.
@37 go to the address you sent it to, and steal their mail!
I believe the pins are very nice, a lot of people do collect pins, and they will definitely fetch higher prices on ebay than the other past prizes. I do not plan on selling mine; I will display them proudly because I think they are über cool!
