Everyone said RE5 was awful and I loved it, so when everyone said RE6 was awful I was like "Yeah, yeah, sure"...then I played it.
RE6 is poorly made. The QTEs give you 0.0012 seconds to react, the camera is awkwardly positioned, if you choose the supporting character, you are constantly forced into southpaw, the characters have no depth and rarely have human reactions, and the story is a mess, and that's just off the top of my head!
Good for the people that want it, but I'm giving this a hard pass. I played the first one for a few hours and it was difficult for difficulty's sake; not rewarding in the slightest.
Platinum Games are very hit or miss for me. I love Vanquish, MadWorld, and Rising, but I really can't stand Bayonetta. (That's way more hits than misses, now that I look at it). My point is people seem to be over the moon because this game is "like Bayonetta", which puts me very much under the moon, but there are also Rising mechanics in here too.
It's safer just to save my money for The Ninja Warriors coming in a week's time. I'm happy you guys are happy, but I'm afraid this isn't for me.
I envy someone who's life is so perfect and carefree that this is what sends them over the edge.
Granted, it's a different country, but if you look at everything happening in the news and choose this as your protest...you have a serious priority problem.
Knowing Nintendo, I was half expecting the SNES version of Doom (Serious downgrade from the PC version). I'm working my way through Youngblood right now, but I'll think about buying these...if they ever come back to the eshop.
I think every single developer should have this rule. Whenever, I'm stuck on a tough boss in any game, I ask myself "The Dev and QA team legit didn't see a problem with this??" If I were to find out what happened here happens everywhere, I would feel better about pushing through it and less like an unpaid tester.
I'm on the fence. I'm one of the few people that did not enjoy Bayonetta and the graphics are basically identical to Daemon X Machina; a demo that was very disappointing. I'd need to get my hands on a demo to sway me.
1) Outside of the obvious concerns for his health, I'm worried about what happens when he does eventually retire or die. He says he prefers doing things himself because it's more efficient than telling everyone else what to do. But that also suggests that the team will be lost without him because he never bothered passing down skills/knowledge/experience to the rest of his team. I'm worried about a repeat of that QuadrigaCX story where the company can't access the funds it needs because the CEO died without telling anyone the password (look it up).
2) I love this guy's dedication, but SSBU is far from perfect. I feel like I should be allowed to criticize a product without being automatically labeled a Sakurai hater.
It's cool that this game is still being supported, but I (and I'm going to project here and say most people) will never make it through a single C-Side, let alone, all of them. This is an update very few people will even know about.
If Waluigi becomes playable in this game, it will send the message that creating childish memes, acting like a baby on Social Media, and harassing someone relentlessly is the way to get things done. Everything we hate about the internet will increase tenfold.
Any so-called Smash Bros. Fan that watched the E3 direct and this most recent one, but can still only focus on what little this game doesn't have obviously can't be pleased. Trying to do so, would hurt us, the game, Sakurai, and would have absolutely no bearing on them; a complete waste of time.
So is Squad Strike one long match until the team is eliminated...or is it just Team Battle Mode; a staple of Fighting Game since, at least, Virtua Fighter 2 on the Sega Saturn?
At this point, putting in that character (who is definitely not worth it) would mean delaying the game or putting Sakurai in the hospital. Let's be honest, does anyone that wants Waluigi have the emotional fortitude to not buy this game? No. No they do not. People will complain until every single assist trophy is playable, so why even try?
If they get Waluigi, they will whine for Bomberman. If they get Bomberman, they will whine for Rodin. The harassment won't stop until every character that only appears from an Assist Trophy, Poke Ball, or part of a Final Smash is playable. And after that, they will demand Batman and Deadpool -_-. I hope Sakurai never, ever gives in to these people, if for no other reason, the game would get pushed into mid-2019.
I get why people might be a little disappointed, but I can't stress enough how much I disagree with the notion of teasing a title that's years away. Nintendo sticking to games coming out in the next 12 months is why I prefer their press conferences over others. If Yoshi and Metroid Prime 4 won't be out in that timeframe, it just means they were announced way too early. If Animal Crossing isn't ready, what's the point of hearing about it? Teases that don't have dates and/or in-engine graphics are just expensive ways of saying "We got ideas and we making games"...which is a given considering the business Nintendo is in.
@aaronsullivan I suppose Sonic Adventure did it first, but this game has more in common with Shinobi than Sonic (dark tone, Ninja, focus on precision, etc)
The "Ninja attacking enemies to dash through the level" thing is straight out of Shinobi for the PS2, so it's use here is not wholly original. I wouldn't be surprised if that's where the got the idea. Unless this game gets glowing reviews across the board, I'll skip it and stick with the inspiration.
Fine by me. The controls in Skyward Sword worked fine. No offense, but if you're having problems...you must be doing something wrong. My only concern is that the Wii U's big draw is its controller. You mean to say that the new Zelda won't use it at all?? Does the Wii U come with a Wii Motion Plus remote? Not a problem for people that have Skyward Sword, but for people starting with the Wii U, it might be an issue.
Link has a voice. "Hmm" "Ha" "oOooOh" "HiYaaaAAAHHH"
So, yeah, the "disconnect" has been there since Ocarina of Time. Just hire the same guy to speak in sentences instead of grunts. Only those with the nostalgia goggles gouged into their skulls will object. Acceptable Losses.
Frog Suit seems unnecessary. Mario swims now (in 3D) like he did with the Suit on back then. Add a Turtle Shell and the Frog Suit is useless. I would have preferred the Shoe over the spring, though.
Poor pacing would be releasing the games at the same time. What would have been the harm in letting people know about the Spring release all along? Why wait until everybody hates them and assumes they know nothing of good business?
I'll be getting Punch-Out!! I already have Super Mario Galaxy. I had very little fun with Super Paper Mario and even less fun with Mario Strikers Charged when I borrowed them.
LOL. This would be the third Street Fighter game to hit a Nintendo handheld (or console, for that matter) in about ten years, and you consider that milking? This coming from the fanbase that's okay with Ocarina of Time being re-released three times since it debuted on the N64?
WWE All-Stars is amazing (on the Xbox360, never tried the Wii version), but this game just looks silly. It's too early to fully judge obviously, but based on the Video, they took the perfect balance between Arcade and Sim that they hit with All-Stars and tipped it waaaaaay too far in the Arcade direction. Let's hope they know what they are doing.
I got Super Scribblenauts, Picross 3D, and GTA: Chinatown Wars to worry about. This is a good deal, but I have to pass. Sorry, Nintendo. lrn2pricedrop.
This game is going to be awesome. I feel bad for the people that think Online play is the end-all and be-all of Video Gaming. They'll be missing out on some great stuff.
