Re: Nicalis Teases SNES-Style JRPG Title For 3DS

Rief

@WinterWarm Which i don't really like, and it is NOT Retro. Something can only be Retro if it has a specific age.
I can't call my WiiU Retro, because it isn't. Retro-styled is a whole other thing, though. But when it comes to games, retro-styled doesn't mean it has retrographics or sound, but retro-like Gameplay.

Re: Nicalis Teases SNES-Style JRPG Title For 3DS

Rief

Nope, i'm not excited.
What does SNES-Style music mean?
Less instruments, channels and with that, less quality?
Sorry, i'm no graphic or sound whore, but why not use what can be used and instead using out of date-things?

Re: Liege Channels Fire Emblem And Final Fantasy Tactics, And It Could Be Marching To Wii U

Rief

It's okay that they take inspiration from other games, but mentioning it in the description is just making money out of popular things.
Also, the Video is unbelievable boring, no matter how good the game may be (i am NOT saying it will be bad), it won't get much interest.
After 10 seconds i thought "will something happen finally or will it stay like this?".
I mean, even that guy who talked about the game looked like he was bored to death by it.

Re: First Impressions: Skylanders Swap Force

@SkywardLink98 True, but that is the flaw with that entire concept. While the concept is great, the execution has a big flaw. Now, if i could get a pack of five Figures for 10€, i would buy it.
I know, the price includes way more than just Material-costs, and that the price i named is way too low to make money with it, every sold pack would mean a loss.

But thats just the thing about it, a concept, no matter how great it is, is worthless if it has such problems with the execution.

Re: First Impressions: Skylanders Swap Force

I am highly interested in the Skylanders Games, but i have to pay the full price for them, and then have to buy these expansive figures?
Not that i don't like the System with the Figures and all, i really find it very interesting, but they are just too expensive.
And as a collector, i would want them all.
But seriously, 50€ for the Game and about 10€ per figure, with about 30 Figures in existence, that would make 350€ to have the full game.

Re: Time: Nintendo Is "Stumped" By The Wii U GamePad And Should Ditch It

Rief

The possibilities the Gamepad gives are much greater than with a normal Gamepad.
Also, i think the Developers mostly make good use of it. Even if it is "only" the Map on the Gamepad, thats really helpful, because it doesn't have to be on the screen, which leaves more space to see what actually happens around you.

Re: LEGO Friends Coming to 3DS and DS

Rief

Why do they look like Disney Princesses?
Oh well, i think the game could actually be good, if i had a daughter in the age between 8 and 12, i would definitly buy that for her.

Re: Just Cause Dev Thinks Wii U Is "Cool" But Has No Immediate Plans To Support It

I, on my way to become an Indie Developer, had some Questions about the WiiU DevKit.
I wrote them a Mail.
Two days later i got an answer that not only answered my questions. It was pretty detailed, more i asked for, but valuable informations to me.
God, it was so horribly hard to reach them, i mean, i had to make the first step and all, why couldn't they just send everyone a mail and ask if we have questions?

Re: Feature: Celebrating Ten Years of The Wind Waker

Rief

I bought this on release, months before i even got my GameCube, just to get the Limited Edition with the Ocarina of Time Bonus Disc.
Well, Wind Waker is my Number 3 in case of Zelda, the only ones i liked more were Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, the last one kicking the other ones one place down to stay at the top, so i'm really looking forward to the remake, it is a sure buy, even though my GameCube is still hooked to the TV (well, the one in our sleeping room, like all the other old consoles)
