Re: Review: Mario Kart 8 (Wii U)

@DarkKirby @aronatvw Usually for reasons pertaining around how a lot of children also own the system, and how parents often ignore the parental controls.

There's going to be at least one instance when a child is going to be really offended or start swearing due to things he/she/it heard over the games voice chat, and parents are going to blame the company rather than their ignorance, as if there wasn't already enough cases of similar events already (I miss having Kinder Eggs in America...).

If anything, I'd rather have no voice chat, as I just want to focus on the game.

Re: Satoru Iwata Believes Nintendo Can Establish a "New Core Business" to Join Video Games

Nintendo has to at least TRY to invest in other things.

Microsoft's big seller isn't Xbox, it's their Operating Systems and other software.

Sony's biggest seller isn't the Playstation, it's their other electronics, like their Television sets, sound systems, and DVD/Blu-Ray players.

Nintendo gets their money from home Video Games, and they have been since the 1970's. They should at least TRY to make other things... Hmm.

Re: Satoru Iwata Announces 'Nintendo Figurine Platform' to Utilise NFC for Wii U and 3DS

RickyWill

Since they will be working across multiple games, I think these figures will end up just being extra-fancy DLC, and NOT an essential part to the game. Kind of like how Ubisoft originally had an idea to sell NFC figures along with Rayman Legends, to add characters like the infamous Rabbids from some of the past games or Ezio from the popular Assassin's Creed series.

I, for one, don't really see how this is a bad business decision. If it's going to suck money out of parent's wallets for their kids (which I expect these to be marketed to) Nintendo's going to be happy, and we as gamers are going to wind up loving them,

On another note: Am I the only one who remembers U.B. Funkeys, where this phenomenon first started?
