Re: Cross-Buy is Now a Thing on Nintendo Platforms

Remisio

Yacht Club Games has stated that they're interested in cross buy for Shovel Knight on WiiU and 3DS. I was really unlucky, I woke up today to go to classes and checked my mail in my phone to find the Mighty No.9 special Shovel Knight giveaway... I was so sad... I didn't get the game!! I had a 6 in 9000+ chance to get it!

Re: Video: Début Anima: Gate of Memories Gameplay Trailer is Released

Remisio

Looks pretty good. Though some of the dialog's grammar is cringe worthy. Unless that's supposed to be how they talk. It's still in progress though so hopefully it'll go through some editors and translators before it's released, considering how the story seems to be rather important, which I guess isn't an issue if the last game was praise worthy in that regard... So yeah, looks good.

Re: Nintendo Japan Announces Plans for YouTube Affiliate Program

Remisio

@JusticeColde I'm using an amount presented by the person's comment I replied to. I also have friends who gain revenue from YouTube, it's hardly anything and they make their own content. They're not Lets Players, though I understand that to make a lot of money like PewdiePie you'd need a lot of videos (which he certainly has) lots of viewers, (again... He has this) the combination of which thanks to playlists makes it so that all these viewers watch almost all his videos. The 200,000 and "millionaire" ranges were presented by the person I replied to. Though I can see that with partnerships and popularity it's in the range of possibility to be a millionaire through YouTube. Though it'd hopefully take some saving up. I wouldn't like to even imagine that someone could make millions a year from posting stuff made by others with a little commentary on the internet. Long ago I remember some of my friends saying it was $0.01 per view... Which in a vid with millions of views would be approx $10,000 per vid and take away from that what you will: taxes, google, YouTube, partners. Though I doubt that's true anymore. That was ages ago when I had that conversation. At the beginnings of YouTube monetizing or whatever. I've never been that interested myself even though some of my friends have been.

Re: Nintendo Japan Announces Plans for YouTube Affiliate Program

Remisio

@Kodeen $200,000?! Wow, I find the fact that people playing a game on the internet have a higher yearly income than the estimated yearly income of a game developer, (or at least one working at Ubisoft from what I've researched) and a "moderately" popular makes more than twice as much. It is an estimate and it is also subject to change depending on game sales but: the yearly salary is between 65,000 - 85,000 for someone at Ubisoft, most of the money from games usually goes into the development of future games, and other things such as advertisement, distribution, etc. the fact that a popular you tuber can be a millionaire from playing games, while the people making the game can't is rather depressing. The research may be outdated or incorrect, but from the people I know who work at Ubisoft, none are millionaires, and none have all that much money unless they are higher ups. And they spend gruelling months-years working in games. Eh, whatever.

Re: Ike Joins the Battle in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS

Remisio

@Senario I asked my friend to tell me about it... They insist that Micaiah is Solid, and that she has access to all the spells... I'm not sure either way, thankfully a copy is on its way to me and I'll soon play RD to settle it myself, though considering that there are people out there who think she isn't all that good it'll be subjective. Thanks for the eye opener. I have attained emblightement. What the hell did I just say.

Re: Ike Joins the Battle in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS

Remisio

@Senario interesting, that's good to know. I shouldn't talk like I know everything because, shamefully, even though I've played and beaten almost every fire emblem game... That Almost excludes Radiant dawn, my friends have talked to me about it but always neglected to talk about how bad Micaiah is. I'm going to be playing it soon, but sadly by the time I sought it out it costed $114 I didn't have. Good thing I got Xenoblade chronicles before it ran out.

Re: Hyrule Warriors Screenshots and Gameplay Details Emerge

Remisio

@noctowl soooo... Wait what? How am I advocating hate? I represent mature themes over mature ratings, I wanted to say that the events are often poetic or touching representations of death rather than the violent and brusque ones that are usually considered mature by the current gaming world... How exactly have I advocated hate or anything of the sort...? If I have said anything that offends you or depicts me as a hateful person I apologize, but I will stick to my views, not everyone is going to accept them but please specify how I am advocating hate so that I can avoid further misunderstandings in the future.

Re: Ike Joins the Battle in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS

Remisio

@CaviarMeths I'd live Ephraim to be in smash, but it's pretty clear that other than Marth, they aren't planning on using any of the older characters in smash. Even Marth is technically recent because if FE11 and FE12. They use the more recent and popular characters, Ike is pretty franking popular, Sigurd almost made it to brawl apparently, but yeah. That's why I presented Chrom as a Quasi spear wielder: he's more recent, from a really successful game, and there are already stages from his game.

Re: Ike Joins the Battle in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS

Remisio

Also in terms of actual Fire Emblem games, any gamer would know that stat wise amongst all the Lords Ike is the best, and Roy the worst. Ike > Marth > Roy. And the other Lords rest somewhere between that, Eliwood is quite good, which makes me feel sad for him knowing that he is Roy's father... Sigurd and Seliph are awesome, Hector is Godly, Lyn is good, Ephraim and Erika are broken and amazing in 8 and Chrom isn't too bad himself. Leif was better when he wasn't a lord and Alm is good too. But despite their differing skill levels they all have something in common... They're all better than Roy.

Re: Ike Joins the Battle in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS

Remisio

A friend and I were having a conversation, I also posted some of these ideas on miiverse under the name Tylos, that a way Chrom or Lucina could be different from Ike and Marth and be way more unique would be to draw inspiration from their promoted Great Lord classes. When promoted, as many would recall, Chrom and Lucina gained the ability to utilize spears in addition to their swords, so that could be inter grated, making Chrom or Lucina the first ever lance/spear wielders in smash and making them more unique.

Re: Hyrule Warriors Screenshots and Gameplay Details Emerge

Remisio

@sketchturner when I think mature I think themes and events that depict death or sometimes more advanced ways of thought. The ESRB definition of mature you imply as the only apparent definition is blood, profanity and sex. Which are actually quite juvenile. There hasn't been an "M-for Mature" Fire Emblem, Last Story or Xenoblade game. But the themes of Death are present, just as they are in Zelda, Sin and Punishment and even Pikmin to a lesser degree.

Re: Hyrule Warriors Screenshots and Gameplay Details Emerge

Remisio

@sketchturner quite a few Nintendo games actually have pretty dark and Mature themes and events. Some that come to mind right from memory are: Fire Emblem, Earthbound, Golden Sun, Zelda (sometimes), The Wars franchise, Sin and Punishment, F-Zero and now cop out mode: Geist and Eternal Darkness. There are a few more if I remember right but the names don't come to me and I probably haven't played them. But I guess themes and visuals are different things. Also technically Xenoblade Chronicles and I suppose Pandora's Tower.

Re: Hyrule Warriors Screenshots and Gameplay Details Emerge

Remisio

@C-Olimar no, I wasn't saying you said that specifically, I was just presenting a view I've noticed many have around the web, mainly because of Other M. In Japan firstly, Samus was portrayed as stoic and strict but also respectful to those with more experience and wisdom, Adam was also a surrogate father to her and his influence on her can be seen in Fusion when he (sort of) shows up. The PTSD that Samus displayed, while I admit was kind of badly conveyed, is meant to be a representation of her character's growth, Samus had killed this monster, the very one that had killed her parents, but here it was back from the dead, hunting/haunting her. In super Metroid it wasn't easy to convey feeling, so Samus appeared to be a silent strong type, however silent people are usually the most perturbed in real life and so Other M attempts to humanize this Goddess image we had developed of Samus so as to help her be more relatable, the attempt was mostly a failure, but it was there. Rather than this unimaginable character that no one can hope to be, she was now a human and showed that anyone can be strong too if they truly try. But this is just my (extensive) opinion and yours is as valid as anyone else's. I just think that if I made a character but then my fans thought I shouldn't go near said character anymore because I tried to convey something they didn't like/understand, I wouldn't be too happy myself.

Re: Hyrule Warriors Screenshots and Gameplay Details Emerge

Remisio

@gamerphil07 there are difficulty settings, there's a warriors game on wiiU, warriors orochi. There's a replay ability value in that some of the warriors games have side missions, relationships between characters, different difficulties (easy, normal, hard and chaos in W:O case, not so much SW from what I played, but still alternate missions) depending on what they decide to do it could have branching stories, extra characters like Takamaru, side quests, side missions, etc. It always depends of the gamer though, whether they'll come back to it or not. I did some missions 20 times in WO 3 Hyper on wiiu.

Re: Hyrule Warriors Screenshots and Gameplay Details Emerge

Remisio

@Retro_on_theGo it's mainly nintendo of America that finds the need to sensor this stuff. In Japan they're fine with all the violence and sexual images, but once they bring it to America NOA finds it necessary to censor for teh children's sake... Whether it be FE:A or BD.

Re: Hyrule Warriors Screenshots and Gameplay Details Emerge

Remisio

@C-Olimar you know, that's just what happens when a character's creator attempts to develop his character better and get a message across that he couldn't originally due to the limits of past tech. Also the transition from Japan to the west. But yeah that's a valid enough reason to hate on the guy who wrote Super Metroid, Merroid Fusion and others, one mistake. (I suppose two because he also Worked on Tomodachi Life and not allowing homosexual relationships is clearly another reason to hate him, rather than look at Japan's lack of openness as a whole.) reason enough to declare that metroid is better off away from its creator and with Retro Studios instead.

Re: Poll: Have Your Say on Nintendo Direct Bonanzas and Single Game Demonstrations

Remisio

July 27th... Mother's 25th anniversary... Mother/Earthbound direct... World ends because of too much hype. Ness for Smash, with Ninten and Lucas alt costumes, Giygas as a stage and Porky as a boss. Too much hype happens. Sakurai states that he wants to make a new game in series, Itoi agrees that Sakurai should carry on the torch... Fan base explodes... Giygas invades our nightmares... It takes 25 years for the next Mother game to come out. It is localized because the music has become open property by then. I don't know... I die of happiness or something...?

Re: Feature: Bandai Namco Characters We'd Love to See in Super Smash Bros. on Wii U and 3DS

Remisio

Lloyd for me. Am I the only one who utterly despises PAC-MAN's new designs? Sigh... Honestly I liked him better as a cheese pizza with a missing slice. Sure he's iconic but his new design really weirdos me out. Just imagine that thing staring at you over your shoulder and you turn around and... Ugh shudder most of the third party characters I'd like are unlikely because their developers have skipped out on Nintendo lately. No one wants Rayman but I would honestly prefer him over PAC-Man, Simon Belmont is iconic just like mega man, but with how the reboot lords of shadows has been going I'm meh on him, seeing an HD version of his classic model would be better but why advertise a game that isn't on wiiu anymore other than VC? And same for Lloyd sadly, minus the VC part. (Come on Nintendo, GCVC do it, renew your rights on eternal darkness by releasing it on VC, Gheist I liked and all those hidden GC gems)

Re: Artwork: When Nintendo Finally Gets Around To Rebooting Star Fox, We Hope The Characters Look Like This

Remisio

Did I miss something? I didn't know Fox McCloud had a prosthetic arm... I mean, he does have prosthetic legs... As far as I can remember... Or was that his dad? Well... Either way... The art style kind if puts me off... I doubt Nintendo would do something like this. Maybe if Star Fox was handed over to an American developer it'd look similar to this, but if it remains worked on by Nintendo or Platinum or any Japanese developer... I highly doubt it'd look like this.

Re: Weirdness: You Can Now Play Zelda Really Badly on Twitch

Remisio

@Monkeh haha, yeah... Even one of my teachers referenced flappy bird when he said what we should try in making a game should be original and fun rather than monetizing. He said NOT to make a flappy bird though so it's fine, because that's just running with a trend and not being original for the sake of money.
