The first and last

BioWare's MDK2 was ported to WiiWare by independent studio Beamdog, but you won't be seeing that name on any other Nintendo formats in the future, according to studio president Trent Oster.

Asked on Twitter if Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition could come to Wii U, Oster's response was... less than positive:

We don't do Nintendo development. Our previous experience with Nintendo was enough to ensure there will not be another.

Oster later expanded on his issues with developing for Nintendo download formats:

My problems with Nintendo are: requiring 6000 unit sales before payment, a certification process that took us 9 months and a 40mb limit.

These complaints are nothing new — last year Icon Games claimed "Nintendo's policies put jobs at risk" — but we all expect Nintendo to overhaul its download service for Wii U, so it's disappointing to hear Oster rule out a return to Nintendo formats.
