Re: Review: Wrestling Empire - A Love Letter To Pro Wrestling That Falls Foul Of Hilarious Bugs

@Muddy_4_Ever

Two years late but The You Testament isn't supposed to be a fighting game but an RPG. The hilarity ensures from the fact it uses the same engine as all his games so you get a Biblical game where everyone is throwing fists at each other when Jesus is preaching.

Certainly the strangest of his games as MDickie himself has actually written books on religion and spirituality and considers each of the major religions as holding truths, that Christ, Buddha etc were all enlightened teachers. He has also criticised both religious fanaticism and atheism.

However certainly none of his spiritual philosophy is in the game itself and if it was, it'll be easily be missed in a game that like all his games is just chaotic and janky lol.

Re: Chris Pratt Defends "The Voices" In The Mario Movie

Phornix

@TheBigBlue You realise Charles has an entire vocal range and could have voiced Mario in a more natural way too?

It's too late to change anything now, true. Chris is the voice actor here but I never understood this criticism you guys made about Charles. At least Rogen admitted Donkey Kong is just his normal voice. Chris should have done the same because he's just using his regular voice too lol.

Re: Feature: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Gameplay Trailer - Every New Detail Revealed

Phornix

@theModestMouse Still that narrative? $70 for some DLC?

Are we going to get an apology from you guys when the game releases and it's amazing? I'm tired of reading the same comment. At least Tears is showing new stuff. You guys on the otherhand...

@TYRANACLES Huh? I guess you never played The Legend of Zelda 1 and its many sequels if you think this is the first to be the extension of a prior.

@JH1022 They're not going to show everything off in one gameplay trailer.

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Trailer Gets Creative With Vehicle Building, Fused Weapons

Phornix

@JeanPaul Indeed people are crying but we all know this game is still going to gets 10/10 reviews and sell loads.

After all it happened to Elden Ring and that game looked and looked and played identical to Dark Souls 3.

If something isn't broke, it doesn't need fixing. Just expand upon it. Where were all the complaints from people about returning to the same Hyrule from A Link to the Past in A Link Between Worlds, arguably the smallest and worst Hyrule in the franchise? Lol

@Mauzuri "Super Mario Galaxy is a 10/10, Donkey Kong Country 2 is a 10/10."

Nope not a chance lol. Mario Odsessy is better than both of those BTW. You're probably the guy who also thinks A Link to the Past is the best Zelda still even though Link's Awakening did everything better lol.

Speaking of which, all those Zeldas right down to the first ever Zelda game were carbon copies of each other with reused assets too. It's nothing but blinded nostalgia that makes people think all these all retro games are more amazing than their modern sequels.

I've had enough of those Zeldas to last me a lifetime.

@Dezzy70 "But if I can swim across or beat an enemy with a normal weapon, why bother to construct or fuse items. It’s doing it just because you can.
A bit slow and boring really with no big purpose overall."

Not really. Fused weapons lead to more damage and weapons with higher durability.

Your reasoning is why switch to a higher damage weapon in any game when you can beat enemies with the weapon you start with. Because at that point you're just limiting yourself and making the game artificially longer by refusing to use the mechanics.

It's like saying why learn the combos in a game in any action game when you can just spam one attack and dodge. Sure that's viable but in the end, somebody who learns the combos is going to defeat a boss in a few minutes vs your 1 hour.

At this point, I understand why so many people had a problem playing Dark Souls and Elden Ring. Probably too many people with your logic who went into the games refusing to upgrade weapons. If you even lasted long enough, mid game bosses must have been taking you ages to defeat. No wonder some people think those games are ultra hard. Yeah they would be when you're doing 50 points of damage on a boss vs the 1000 you could be doing...lol.

Re: Best Zelda Games Of All Time

Phornix

@JH1022 Link to the Past is nowhere near the best Zelda and it hasn't aged well. Its own sequel does everything better. Link's Awakening is just better in every capacity right down to dungeon design, the overworld, gameplay, characters, story and exploration.

Re: Feature: Which Zelda Game Has The Best Link? - Every Link Ranked From Worst To Best

Phornix

@Anachronism In what open world game can't you see and experience everything in 20 hours? What makes Breath of the Wild work is that its sandbox world works perfectly with the mechanics in the game that have allowed people to keep discovering and doing new things.

Meanwhile you go back to a game like A Link to the Past or Link's Awakening and it's just the same thing.

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom amiibo Goes Live On Amazon UK, Pre-Order Now

Phornix

@ChromeSQD How is it an abomination because of an optional amiibo? Also, this game like Breath of the Wild was a Zelda game whether you like that or not.

It's funny you invoke the GTA series as an example of "great videogames" when that hasn't changed since GTA 3 and Rockstar has spent the last 10 years monetising the hell out of its failing GTA Online instead of developing a new game.

Zelda has had many top down games and the most recent was the remake of Link's Awakening on Switch. All of these played the same. Apparently Nintendo is bad because they changed the formula for once in what became the most successful iteration of Zelda ever?

Well I'll be happy to be playing Tears of the Kingdom rather than a 5th iteration of A Link to the Past.
