I would love to see these lists expanded to top 100, at least for the bigger library consoles. They could become a really great discovery tool for deeper cuts/hidden gems and big games alike.
I know the search functionality lets you filter things to kind of accomplishment that, but these articles give the games more visibility!
Calling this a win for consumer rights makes no sense? The right to pre-order a game the moment it was announced was taken away from the consumer. Something that was always optional, you could have just waited until it had a release date announced.
OoT/MM > SM64
Sunshine > WindWaker (barely)
Twilight Princess/Skyward Sword > Galaxy series
Zelda Wii U era > Mario Wii U era (but really, the Mario bar was set low to be beat by HD remakes... of great games nevertheless)
BotW > Odyssey (barely)
The review is well written, but doesn't match its score. A game should NOT lose points based on how large of an audience it appeals to. It should be rated based on how well it delivers to the audience it's actually targeting. Most games ARE targeting a large audience, but things like super technical simulations clearly aren't.
As someone who will probably never buy this game (love sims, don't care for the subject matter), sounds like it should have been given a 9 or at least an 8. When reviewers punish games for being niche in mass, they're lowering exposure by way of acclaim and playing a role in keeping those games niche.
It has some really clever gameplay concepts that provide a brief of fresh air to its genre, and is one of the few games that truly made wonderful use of the GamePad. It wasn't a complete failure, but if only it had done a little better, we might have a Wii U sequel that takes care of the handful of flaws this game has. In spite of those flaws, highly recommend it, especially being readily available at $25 or less USD.
I'm actually doing the same thing, replaying FE:A. I'm attempting to do a Classic/Hard zero-death run (I'm taking my time and doing more grinding than I do even in Pokemon... and that's saying something). I'm on Chapter 18, but completing most of the Paralogues first (which are inconsistent in terms of difficulty.)
Mega Alakazam and Barbaracle have quite aesthetically appealing designs, I think. The rest of the list is take it or leave it for me, although nobody likes Jynx.
I don't understand why this is such a big deal to people. Animal Crossing basically had a limited (and novel) Virtual Console simulation before the VC ever existed. Now it does, so don't expect it back. There is so much more than there ever was in the GameCube version to do in Animal Crossing: New Leaf that NES games don't even cross my mind. Besides, the Nintendo fortune cookie items are infinitely better.
In a nutshell, here's all that ND inevitably meant for us non-Japanese-speaking gamers: -Zelda: Oracle games will be on the eShop sooner rather than later. -Professor Layton 6 will be coming. Eventually. -Shin Megami Tensei IV and Monster Hunter 4 both look incredible and will also eventually make their way West. Eventually. -Almost everything else will not be localized. Which is a shame, because Youkai Watch and Super Robot Wars UX looked interesting.
This will probably begin with announcements about 3DS updates coming over the course of Spring. My prediction, since this is a Japanese conference, there's going to be details on Monster Hunter 4, something else from Capcom, maybe a new Shin Megami Tensei, something from Konami other than Castlevania (I'm hoping for another MGS port), probably two Square Enix games, Ace Attorney 5 stuff, one of which is a sequel or remake to something big (TWEWY? Bravely Default? a FFVII remake?), and finally, a few eShop reveals. Finally, they'll end by announcing a Wii U third party Direct coming soon.
This is definitely a Day 1 purchase for me. The PS4 version may be slightly graphically enhanced (but probably not enough for Wii U owners to complain about since it's coming to PS360 as well), but I think the GamePad has sooo much potential with this gem-in-the-making. I haven't been so hyped about a new IP in a couple of years (except perhaps count ZombiU).
I already have ZombiU and AC III, so... no money saved for me. but this is a step in the right direction, even if they can't fully apologize to every single person. Some people are just going to remain frustrated, and I still feel that it was a poor business decision. They could have made a LOT of money releasing Rayman Legends now, when Wii U gamers desperately need a new game, instead of later, when there will be many more options (plus Grand Theft Auto V). I will personally fully forgive them though if Watch Dogs, Blacklist, South Park, and Assassin's Creed IV are all on the Wii U.
Quality $1/$2 iPhone/iPad/Android ports are rare on the eShop. They shouldn't be, they have all the potential to be success stories. Where is Angry Birds? Why is Cut the Rope so pricey? (Still worth it... I guess that's why... people will buy it... just not as many).

Re: Review: Farming Simulator: Nintendo Switch Edition (Switch)
@yeayeanaynay No cows here, all that ranting left me a little horse though.

Re: Review: Splatoon 2 (Switch)
The one thing holding me back is the disappointing lack of 1v1 couch co-op multiplayer for most of the modes. I'm not a big online multiplayer gamer.
Re: Feature: Have You Played... ZombiU?
ZombiU is destined to be a cult classic.
It has some really clever gameplay concepts that provide a brief of fresh air to its genre, and is one of the few games that truly made wonderful use of the GamePad. Re: Review: Donkey Kong 64 (Wii U eShop / Nintendo 64)
The world needs more collectathons.
DK64 is an 11/10, minute one purchase for me, even though I already own two physical copies.

Re: Nintendo Download: 22nd January (North America)
I've been waiting on Citizens of Earth for over a year, so that's what I'm getting.

This sold me. Downloading now.

Re: Rumour: GTA V Has Been Tested On Wii U Dev Kits For Some Time
Grand Theft Auto is my favorite non-Nintendo series, hands-down, so I would pre-order this the moment it was confirmed.

Re: Feature: Obscure Series That Should Return on Wii U
Ice Climber. The ICs are two characters that have great potential for a Kirby-graphics vertical platformer, with much better physics.
