Re: Mini Review: Ayo The Clown - A Breezy Platformer That Yoshi Fans Will Enjoy

Orangeonyx

Well, I purchased this game and let me tell you. It is a FRIGGIN BLAST from the start and constantly throwing new things at you almost every level. The controls are spot on. Everything is fluid, hit boxes are just right, platforming is tight enough to be able to do some tricks.

The balloon use as an additional boost really gives it the depth to reach new areas. One thing to note is one level is called the town and after world 2 I went back to it and found I could purchase a bigger balloon. I did and it basically inflates faster, rises faster, for additional height.

Taking a break from all the metroidvanias, many of which all tell a similar dreadful story, this was super suprising and fun.

For me 9/10

Re: Guide: Best Nintendo Switch Micro SD Cards

@Trikeboy thanks. It was a blessing it shot back up for me personally. I have a 400gb card and a huge back log with. I internet issues so I decided I could certainly make room for whatever I wanted to get with all the great deals on eshop games this year by deleting some games I haven’t played in a while to make room. Will use that 200 I was considering spending on a huge micro sd card on the same games. I have some decisions to make before December 4 when most of the deals go away!

I’ve got to say, in doing so my anxiety kicked in with the though of Nintendo making the one very terrible call I’m worried it might. In the future when the next Nintendo console comes out, I am really hoping all the digital games I’ve purchased will be able to be played on the switch V 2 or whatever. I decided to take a chance and have gone all digital except for BOTW which has stayed in my cartridge spot since purchase. I even have purchased more games than I normally would on this Hope. Even the ones I could get on my iPhone which I know I’ll be able to play on future iPhones. If Nintendo screws this up and I can’t simply redownload purchased games on the next console eshop, I’ll never buy another game from them unless it’s a Nintendo exclusive. Love the switch but I super worried they will make that mistake and try and make me repurchase games I’ve already purchased from them for the new system.

Tried looking into purchasing the 1t and it is not 200 but over 400 dollars. Today is in fact Black Friday and the updated article with the info about the 1tb came out less than 24 hours ago. Already a price increase on Black Friday? Seems unlikely. Is link correct from article?

Re: Talking Point: Could Nintendo's Game Design Prowess Solve Discoverability Problems On Switch eShop?

I wouldn’t mind a screen that had more titles listed but with less information (like less pictures and more just text) that way I could see on one screen a few columns that could all fit width wise on one screen and then list them out to 100-200 which I would have to scroll down to see more. However, since it would just be basically a list with a link to the eshop page for that game you could fit about 20 items in each column. Within that list it would also be nice to be able to have the option to check one of two boxes for each game. One would add to wish list. The other would add to an interested list. I am sure this is not in line with the solutions everyone else had but for me I would like to be able to see the new, best selling, featured, and discounted game columns all on one page 20 at a time for each and then scroll down by page to see the rest.

Re: Feature: Best Nintendo Switch Metroidvania Games

Orangeonyx

Glad to see this list continues to be updated. I even ended up saving this as a link on iPhones homepage now to periodically check. The only think that would make this article better would be to have every metroidvania game on the switch listed even if only the top ones were discussed in any depth. That way I could really know if I had a chance to view all of them. Everyone has those few games they love but haven’t reviewed well and others don’t like as much. Mine is Unepic and it is the game that got me into metroidvanias. Still love that game and probably give it another play through about once a year. I wish the developer would expand the castle or allow an editor so others could. I’ve played his other game, ghost 1.0 and while I enjoyed it, something about it didn’t click as much with me as unepic. Plus I’ve never found another game like it.

Re: This Tiny Nintendo Switch Dock Has Just Obliterated Its Kickstarter Goal

I forgot to say that it may be worth the price just to use as a cell phone and laptop charger / streaming device. Then if no one has any issues with there switch being used with it then I could implement using the switch with it when I want. Probably as a secondary dock in my own house though or when I go on vacation. Most of my friends are not gamers really but when we have couples night they do enjoy the jack box party games that we can all play using our phones so a smaller portable dock would be nice when we go to someone’s house for that purpose too.

Re: Review: Monster Boy And The Cursed Kingdom - The Best Wonder Boy Game Yet, Even If It Lacks The Name

If I could play this all over again I would! I played it last year after it somehow escaping me for many many months. I enjoy metroidvanias (at least some aspects of them which this one has even though Many don’t consider it to be a true metroidvania by definition) so I consistently look out for them on the eshop and here at Nintendo life.

This is one of those games where it is longer than you anticipated (in a very good way), the difficulty keeps you invested too. When you find a game that can somehow get artwork, music, playability, length, and difficulty just right this magical thing happens and you know when your playing it that your playing a game you will consider to be one of the best you personally have ever enjoyed.

Re: This Fully-Functioning Calculator Course In Super Mario Maker 2 Is Utter Genius

Orangeonyx

Pretty awesome if you ask me. For those that don’t get the appeal of SMM because you can’t design levels you feel are worthy of playing, I feel you. However, other people have made some fantastic levels you can play! Over 4 million so far. I typically spend a day playing levels (I like puzzle levels the most) then I take a few days off and come back to the game. It’s like a brand new game every few days with the new levels that are out. A number of them are Nintendo worthy with the design and polish. In fact, one player made a whole 32 level course with very good levels that you could complete each other normally and it also had replay ability with red coins to complete a totally different way. I think from an entertainment for dollars perspective, it is the most bang for your buck.

Re: Guide: Switch Pro And Switch Mini: Everything We Know So Far

Orangeonyx

Whatever is released, if I decide to get one I better be able to redownload all of my purchased games on it. Due to the portability of the switch i have invested hundreds if not at least a thousand in digital games. In fact all of my games are digital (besides BOTW which I purchased when I got the switch and has never left the switch). I’ve been worried about this since day one and I hope Nintendo doesn’t let us down and try and get me to repay for a game I have on my switch if I decide to get the switch pro (if it is real and is released). I mean at some point No to do is going to come out with a new version so I wish I knew this answer already.

Re: Review: Shift Quantum (Switch eShop)

I am very happy I decided to get this. I played previous versions on the iphone, but this is way better and more polished! I am about 50% of the way through and it is getting pretty difficult which makes me happy. Very polished game. The user created levels are pretty good too!

Re: Review: Unepic (Switch eShop)

Orangeonyx

This is a truly fantastic game! I originally purchased this on the Wii U and it sat unplayed for a number of months. When I finally got around to playing it, i quickly could not put it down. When I got my switch, I kept wishing it would make its way to the Eshop and it finally did. I think it translates very well to the switch in both handheld and docked. I do wish it had the online multiplayer that the PC version had.

It is very replayable in my opinion. My first run through I focused on swords and bows. My second I really put most of my skill in casting fire and ice. I am now giving some of the other magic attention. The castle is considerable size especially the first few times you play it, but now wish it was even bigger or a sequel was made for it.

I know people have varying opinions on it, but trust me. Get it, but some time into it and you will not be let down.

It is currently on sale for the switch eshop too!

I wish the switch had other games like this one available. Not many (if any) Metroidvanoa roguish sidescrollong platformers for the switch to my knowledge. If I am wrong, please let me know.

Re: Review: Tennis (Switch eShop)

Orangeonyx

A shame that the first tennis game for the switch is a dud. It has been so long since the original Wii tennis that I now miss it and was hoping to have some sort of good motion control tennis game I can play with anyone (gamer or not). From the review it seems like Nintendo shouldn’t have even allowed the dev to put on the system in current form.
