I have also obtained a free redemption code for the US region, but I'm trying to pass it along to a reviewer at WiiWareWave. I will make sure I supply Cinemax Games with a link, if and when a review for Decathlon is posted.
I already knew this was going to be complete garbage, after I viewed the eShop video. I didn't even need to acknowledge the review score on NLife, to validate how horrible this shovelware is. I would be very surprised, if this game even obtains a single rating on the eShop. I'll also feel sorry for whomever does actually rate this on the eShop. Although, anyone who decides to download this kind of deserves whatever they receive...
Not you @Phillip_J_Reed. You took one for the team... Again.
I should really be trying to finish more of Xenoblade Chronicles, but I just received a new copy of Kid Icarus: Uprising today. I'll most likely be checking that out this weekend. I may also try and play some more of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX, since I just downloaded that yesterday. I also downloaded Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land yesterday, but I'm going to wait and finish Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins first before playing. Which I'll be purchasing next month for a dollar cheaper. So... Yeah, that's it.
Digital resale would only be beneficial to retailers and the consumer, but not for Nintendo or other publishers. Nintendo has already been posting losses lately, why would they authorize something like this?
Here's my top 5 list of essential eShop titles: 1) VVVVVV (3DSWare) 2) The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX (Gameboy Color VC) 3) Donkey Kong 94 (Gameboy VC) 4) Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land (Gameboy VC) 5) Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (Gameboy VC)
My top ten list would've included more 3DSWare titles.
@Flowerlark, I can't believe Planet Crashers has already earned itself a 1 star rating. That's not very ensuring. I was very interested in Planet Crashers, but now I'm not as confident that Renegade Kid has lived up to it's name this time. Wario Land is a must, and Mole Mania seems like a quality Gameboy classic. I was really hoping Link's Awakening DX was going to be the Game of the Week.
@Happy_Mask, I was just about to reply in about the same manner. Europeans have no reason at all to feel jealous about what NA receives on the 3DS VC. On the other hand, North Americans have no reason to feel jealous about what 3DSWare EU receives.
I'm definitely downloading SML3: WL tomorrow, but I'll need to do some research on Mole Mania first.
I'm a little disappointed about the loss of DLC. We waited this long just to receive a lesser game. If I didn't own a 3DS, I wouldn't care as much. I'd except whatever we received, if I had no other options. With that said, I believe it should be released on the eShop with access to the DLC. I'm sure the ability to expand the overall playtime was factored into the final price, so I'm not going to purchase La-Mulana without the DLC. Which would probably only cost a few hundred more Wii points, at the most.
If it's inaccessible to NA, why does this article state, "This update is now available around the world"?
@Alienfish, I wish Nintendo would change the style of the ink distribution in an update as well. I pride myself upon neat handwriting, so my messages always end up being much shorter than anyone else I know on Swapnote. The ink should only be applied as the stylus is moving, and not when it's idle. The current style of ink distribution causes writing neatly in cursive to be inadequate, because the stylus almost never leaves the touchscreen. It's almost as if Nintendo is encouraging sloppy handwriting. lol
I'm not trying to say Nintendo should transform the Super Smash Bros. series into a Mario Party type of game, but maybe they could add in some type of minigames inbetween matches like there are in Super Street Fighter titles. With Miiverse nearing upon us, I believe there's a good chance we might just see some cross-platform Nintendo Network connection between the 3DS and WiiU version.
$2 is definitely a great price for a DSiWare title that was awarded a 7/10, but it's not my type of game. It's just nice to see more above average gaming experiences available for only $2.
I already pre-ordered a copy at Amazon for only $29.99. The only problem is the, "Free Super Saver Shipping" option, requires 5-8 days for delivery, so I'll probably miss out on 5-8 Daily Challenges and possibly the first Weekly Challenge. I can always cancel my pre-order, if I really don't enjoy the demo next week.
I'll only be interested in this if it provides a smooth online multiplayer with voice chat and a good amount of unlockables, achievements and play mode options.
Yeah @stipey, I watched the eShop trailer for, "99 Bullets," and it looks amazing. I definitely added it to my wishlist. I believe, "99 Seconds," had only been downloaded 16 times after I did, or is that just how many times it's been rated? Either way, show some more support NA!
@warnerdan, maybe Nintendo and Namco should bring a hault to the production of the 3DS version, because you just don't care about it. Vain much?
I'd love to see some cross-platform WiFi connection happen here, with Miiverse coming into the big picture soon. Maybe some AR card and near field technology features as well, but I'm not sure if that would end up being a bad or a good thing.
@SteveW, and Gameboy, Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance titles were definitely never supposed to be played on an almost 5 inch screen either. Which are the platforms the 3DS VC should be much more focused on, anyways. Talk about an unnatural and unauthentic handheld experience that would feel like. I'd rather not, and nobody else should either. The 3DSXL screens will display the same exact resolution as the original model. I hope you enjoy playing your Gameboy, Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance VC titles as a blurry mess.
I just purchased my Flame Red 3DS about a week ago, but I'm not really that disappointed by this. I'm with the crowd, when I say I don't care for the matte finish. I love the appearance of the red metallic candy paint on my 3DS. The extended battery life is really the only aspect I find very attractive, but I could always just purchase a NyKo battery extension pack. The overall 90% larger screens will definitely display DSiWare, 3DSWare and retail 3DS titles much better, but VC titles wouldn't provide the same natural handheld experience on such a large screen. I don't know... Is it just me, or don't you think playing Gameboy, Gameboy Color or Gameboy Advance titles on a 3DSXL would just feel unnatural? There's also the issue of comfortable and practical portability. I don't think I can see myself carrying this thing around with me like the original model. Yes, Netflix will be displayed much larger and easier to view. But if you really need to watch Netflix on a much larger screen, that's what your Wii console is for. I'm really not into the idea of the lighter colors around upper screen either, because the lighter color will definitely distract from the brilliance of the upper display. That's why I had opted to purchase an all black DS lite.
Ha! I just decided to purchase, "99 Seconds," the other day, with the last $2.00 I had in my eShop account. I'll also recently purchased, "Soccer Up!" as well. I'm glad to support this publisher in anyway I can, if they decide to localize La-Mulana in NA.
Meh... I had already downloaded Kirby's Adventure awhile ago, and then I technically downloaded Kirby Super Star for free this month. I'll just download Kirby's Dreamland 3 on my Wii, and download Kirby's Dreamland 1 & 2 on my 3DS. I'd rather play them the way they were supposed to be played and in the same format as well. Otherwise, these Kirby games wouldn't offer the same nostalgia or an authentic retro experience.
Nintendo should've already begun offering officially licensed SD cards as a Club Nintendo reward. With the lack of retail titles early on and so much access to downloadable content, I believe it should've been in their interests to do so... And also our's.
@Miss_Birdo, I like your sense of humour. When my 3DS finally arrives, would you be willing to exchange 3DS friend codes? I swear I won't send any sexy time pics to your 3DS. Oops... Did I just text that out loud!?
@Mickeymac, that's not really a remarkable prediction my friend, because almost everything arrives on the X-box 360 first.
I'll still be downloading this on the Wii for sure, because I don't own a PS3, X-box 360 or a PC of my own. Plus, WiiWare definitely needs the support more than any other service. Now we just need a definite confirmation for La-Mulana.
@Gamesake, because maybe everybody doesn't have the funds available to afford the compilation. Also, who knows if you'll actually want to play every game that will be on the compilation. Where has it been guaranteed that Kirby Super Star will definitely be on the compilation disc? In just about every case, compilations and anthologys end up containing poorly emulated representations.
@Chariblaze, the coins added to your account are only counted towards reaching gold or platinum status from June 30th to June 30th of the following year, so any coins you received before June 30th of this year will only count towards reaching this years status. Also, whatever total amount of coins you gain counts towards reaching gold or platinum status, so spending every coin you've gained makes no difference. Don't pass up a downloadable reward, if you really want it.
@Mickeymac, that's why I still haven't purchased any anthology or compilation discs of any kind. Virtual Console emulations are the closest you can get to experiencing the real thing. Actually, it is the real thing.
I was going to pre-order a copy, but I decided to start saving up for a 3DS or WiiU instead. I did pre-order Xenoblade Chronicles, though. So I still supported the localization of future JRPGs in the United States. I think I'd become a little burnt out if I decided to play through another RPG, after I finish Xenoblade Chronicles. Oh well, I definitely received my money's worth from Xenoblade Chronicles. I've been playing for 92 hours already, and I don't believe I've even reached the halfway point.
@Tethers, "But it would be better for the developers to buy it ^^."
Ummm... So would purchasing any game available on the WiiShop. I think that would defeat the purpose of offering downloadable Club Nintendo rewards @Tethers, now wouldn't it? Also, maybe @Miss_Rarity isn't able to afford any Wii points, at the moment.
I'd really like to know how to access that list of the devalued Club Nintendo games.
Thanks @MasterGraveheart. I downloaded Kirby's Adventure awhile ago. I've only reached the 5th level, so far. I'll probably dive into Super Star, whenever I've finished Adventure.
I finally decided to give this game a chance, since it was just made available as a Club Nintendo reward. It was only 150 coins, so it can't possibly be too much of a mistake.
