I just spent 150 coins on Kirby Super Star. I hope it's as good as people claim it is. I still have 370 more coins I'll be saving for any other worthwhile VC rewards offered in the future.
Wow! This game even brought @Sneaker13 outside the saloon! I haven't seen him post anything on NLife, for what seems like ages. What brings you to these here parts?
I never had the chance to play this game before, but I did have a ton of fun with another old-school FMV PC title. Do any of you guys remember a game from the early 90's titled, "Crime Patrol"?
Megaman X2 better arrive in the United States sometime soon, and I'm totally serious this time. If it doesn't, I will be forced to commence "Operation Game Vault"!
Now Capcom just needs to give us Megaman 6 & 7, and then I will be one happy Megaman fan.
I love the opening statement. "Back in the old days." Like it was really that long ago. Hahaha! Back in the olden days. If we wanted to play a videogame we had to blow into the cartridge for an hour, and then do the same thing to the NES loader. You kids today, with your motion gaming and your dual layered disc thingys. You just don't know what it was like for us growing up. Hahaha!
@mushroomer, did anybody ask you for your opinion? I think not. Furthermore, nobody is twisting your arm to read these articles. Go troll on another gaming forum my friend. That kind of crap is seriously not needed around here. Instead of being appreciative that someone took out time from their day to write up this article, you complain like an ungrateful little brat. I outta bend you over my knee, and teach you some manners.
Anyways, I had no idea Kirby's Adventure wasn't released, until two years after the SNES was already on the scene. I guess that's why it's so long for an NES title. I mean, who would choose to pay $50 for an NES title, when you could purchase a SNES title for the same amount. Kirby's Adventure is one of the best NES titles I had never had the honor of experiencing, back when I actually owned an NES. On the other hand, there are hundreds upon hundreds of NES titles I never had a chance to experience.
@Tsuchinoko, we still haven't recieved Prince of Persia here in the United States either, and it's beginning to really piss me off. Damn you Ubisoft or Nintendo, who ever is responsible for this. Give us Prince of Persia on the SNES VC already! Why the hell would anyone desire to own any other port!? Forgotten Sands was purely false advertisement. I'm so glad I read into it, before I ordered a copy from Amazon. My anger would've doubled.
Pfft! Still no Retro City Rampage, just as I suspected. OK, I'm not waiting for it any longer. If it just happens to arrive someday, I'll be pleasantly surprised. I'm not going to worry about finding some way to afford Wii points, though. Sorry RCR, you shouldn't have played with my emotions like Moto Heroz did. With the level of technology we have nowadays, I have no idea what could take so long to develop an 8-bit videogame. I don't think those developers should quit their day jobs, because this is just a joke. What a great marketing approach guys! Hey! Let's hype up the game, and then cancel it's release date. Then do it over again, until nobody is paying any attention anymore. And these indie developers wonder why they barely profit from their WiiWare games. Umm... Duh! Just duh!
@Henmii, I believe there will be a 3-D enhancement update included with the DLC, for those who have already downloaded Mighty Switch Force. At least that's how this article seems to read, anyways. To tell you the truth though, I would still erase the game and download it over again. After the update and DLC is already included. I have OCD, so you shouldn't just do that on account of me. I have some strange tendencies.
Exactly @MrPanic! Also @kkslider5552000, I guess you think Xenoblade Chronicles should also be a 20-30 hour long title for casual gamers as well. Hmm...
@kkslider5552000, first of all, how the hell is Assassin's Creed or Mass Effect in anyway relative to TLoZ? Second of all, casual gamers are the target audience for short 20-30 hour games. When has a Zelda title ever been a casual videogame, I ask you? Well, except for maybe Link's Crossbow Training, but I highly doubt that counts.
Zelda= Epic Adventure Zelda doesn't= Casual Kiddy Game
@Nintendo, please keep on producing epic TLoZ adventures on a grandiose scale, and let the casual gamers play their Wii Sports Resort. Period.
In these trying times of economical instability, I highly doubt gamers would rather pay more or the same for less. You know, there's nothing forcing you to play through the entire game in three or four days. You can space out your playtime as much as you wish to. Why would anyone opt to pay two or three times as much money to receive the same experience? Can anybody please tell me why? TLoZ: Skyward Sword hasn't sold as well as Nintendo wished, because it was released way too late in the Wii console's lifespan. If Nintendo decides to release future TLoZ titles in episodes, I truly believe sales figures will decline even more so. There will be two or three installments Nintendo will have to market, instead of just concentrating on one epic adventure. Which will also cause more of a hassle for the consumer. Instead of trying to locate funds to pre-order or track down one Zelda title, gamers would have twice the fun trying to pre-order or track down two or three releases. I seriously don't believe episodic Zelda titles would grant the same grandiose experience either, and what if a loyal fan can't afford to purchase the second episode at the time of it's release. Then they'll most likely be left behind, by the time the third episode becomes available. It would cause a never ending backlog of episodes to purchase. I would either loose interest or just give up on the franchise, at that point. Are there any other negative aspects I've forgotten to touch on here? I Nintendo knows better than to do this. Well, at least I hope they do.
@Chicken_Brutus, well the enhanced 3-D effect and the five extra levels will give more reason to eventually revisit Mighty Switch Force in the future.
I would just wait until your second playthrough to complete the additional levels. It'll feel like your experiencing a totally revamped game. Actually, you would be experiencing a totally revamped game.
I'd rather this was released on the WiiWare service, because I know I won't be able to purchase a WiiU at launch. Unless I pass on the 3DS, but I don't really want to do that. I just might, though.
@Bass_X0, what a coincidence you would mention Megaman 5 today. I told a Wii console friend of mine that I wished I had enough points to download Megaman 5, and he gifted it to me just last night. I owned Megaman 4 as child, but me and my brother sold our NES before Megaman 5 was released. I always wished I had the chance to experience it. I've been planning to download it, but somehow other WiiWare and VC titles always got in the way. I tried it out last night, and the level designs are even more unique than Megaman 4. Although, the level designs in Megaman 4 did have more puzzle elements. Which is what I loved about it. I really don't see why people state that Megaman 5 is easier than previous entries in the series, because of having the ability to charge your shots. I haven't been able to reach a single robot master yet, and I could reach the robot masters in Megaman 3 without the Mega Buster. lol
By the way, the letter plate collecting isn't very difficult. It's a welcomed addition, though.
Oh yeah! Of course, I'm going to go purchase an SNES console just so I can play Prince of Persia. Hey! If you want to purchase me an SNES and the PoP cart @Fabian, be my guest. Otherwise, I'm going to keep on complaining. There's no excuse for why NOA hasn't already released PoP here. Pit Fall can go fall in a pit, because I could give two shakes about that game.
NOoooo, @DrDaisy! Characters of oriental descent with european accents is one of the worst ideas I've ever heard of. I'm sorry, but that's not a good idea at all. I wouldn't give this game a second thought if that were the case.
Don't let Ubisoft get over on you guys. Just purchase the Wii version, and save yourselfs $10. You'll just be paying extra for the 3-D effect, and the Wii version seems a lot better. You could use that extra $10 you'll save to download the GBC version of Rayman from the eShop, and then you'll still have an easily accessible Rayman experience ready to go on your 3DS.
@StrawHatChopper, I'd rather not be forced to play through a medicore 3-D Prince of Persia title, just to unlock the ability to play the retro SNES entry. Plus, having the game available on VC is bit more convenient and accessible as well. Also, it's not actually the SNES version that's unlockable in Forgotten Sands. Which is definitely the version I desire to play.
Can somebody, anybody tell me why we still haven't received Prince of Persia on the SNES VC yet? Should I just give up, and forget about it ever being released here? I'd really like to know. The nearest title to PoP we've received is Pit Fall, and I have no plan of ever downloading that. Also, only one more week until Retro City Rampage is once again considered vaporware.
I don't know what it is, but I just don't see the appeal of sidescrolling RPG titles. I've watched some gameplay videos of Wonder Boy titles, but I still don't see what's so great about the series. Can somebody please explain why/how this series has accumulated such gathering of followers? Is it just because of it's certain 8-bit retro charm, or is there more than meets the eye? Also, are there any puzzle aspects incorporated into the gameplay?
The slowdown and responsiveness issues could easily be repaired with a patch file update. Make it happen, Fishing Cactus. As for the rest of the downfalls, maybe next time.
I guess Lego isn't profiting enough lately from the other franchises. I wholeheartedly refuse to support this endeavor, because it's goes fully against my desires and expectations of the TLoZ universe. Lego needs to know when they're overstepping there boundaries, and they definitely are here. Please Nintendo, don't grant Lego the licensing they need to proceed with this project. Please don't Nintendo, because I really don't believe die-hard fans will ever be able to look at the series in the same light again. TLoZ is, has and should always be a Nintendo exclusive franchise.
Anyways, I really hope Nigoro finds a developer soon. Otherwise I don't see this happening with a desired outcome. I think Nigoro should program the possibility for DLC back into the game. After waiting this long, I believe followers deserve as much playtime as they can receive. Plus, Nigoro will most likely increase profits by doing so. These guys deserve as much for their endeavor as any other developers on the WiiWare service. You can tell they're very humble easterners, and they care about us gamers more than potential profits. Nowadays, people like that are few and far inbetween. I wish Nigoro the best of luck in any and all of their future projects.
@6ch6ris6, did you have a lot of VC & WiiWare titles downloaded onto it? That's why I'm never selling my Wii, because I have some really good WiiWare titles and some very nostalgic VC titles that I downloaded. There's still a lot of VC titles I would love to download sometime in the future. I would only sell my Wii if it's possible to transfer all my games onto the WiiU. Plus, they would still have to be linked to my account somehow. In case I needed to download them again, for some reason. I might even still keep my Wii, anyways. I have the Limited Red 25th Anniversary Edition Wii console, and I love it too much.
I've owned Xenoblade Chronicles, since it's April 6th release date here in the United States. In the short while it has been available, It has become one of my favorite RPGs I've ever had the honor of experiencing. I have no doubt if it had been released at least a year ago, it would've had much greater sales figures by now. It should definitely be considered one of the Wii console's all-time greats like: Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, TLoZ: Skyward Sword and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. It may have never had the chance of receiving sales in the ballpark of Mario Kart Wii or Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but it should have. I'm contemplating on purchasing an additional copy, just to keep as a collectible. I'm absolutely sure Xenoblade Chronicles will obtain a cult following, sometime in the future. Especially since the WiiU will be backwards compatible. Unless there's a reprint which has added WiiU capabilities of some type, unopened copies of Xenoblade Chronicles will dramatically increase in value. Mark my words...
@Katernity, that's hilarious to me, because my cats are the same way. They always have to be right under your feet, because it's not like they don't already receive enough attention.
"few gamers potentially knew the lore or even the gameplay style of the NES original. That was probably for the best, as the 3DS title pays little respect to the original format"
This statement is just like telling someone it's probably for the better if they never experienced the original Super Mario Bros., before they've experienced Super Mario Galaxy 1 or 2. In my opinion, that's a very ignorant remark to be made.
@MakeMyBiscuit, I was highly anticipating La-Mulana myself, and I think it was extremely unprofessional of Nicalis to allow us to be strung along for such a longtime. @SandMan may have offered to give away his Wii points, but that doesn't mean you guys should be so quick to accept them. Retro City Rampage is supposedly being released sometime next month. Don't you think @SandMan might feel the slightest bit regretful, if he happens to decide he would actually like to experience it for himself? What I'm trying to say is he'll most likely get over this just like you, and return to his senses. I hope you understand where I'm coming from.
Wow! @MakeMyBiscuit, @Sherlock and @Knuckles, somebody sure is desperate. I love how you guys are so quick to freeload Wii points from someone who is at a low point in his/her life. What character you have.
@drumsandperc92, I really have no idea what videogames you were playing my friend, but in no way at all did OoT or WW have a better constructed storyline. Hell, OoT barely even had a storyline at all.
@benandarchie, if you purchase every retail release digitally, you won't have the choice or ability to trade-in or sell games you don't find enjoyable. I know digital content can be a lot more convenient, accessible and affordable, but it can also easily become a mistake that can't be resolved.
@Chrono_Cross, I thought you had fairly decent taste in videogames, but I guess I was completely wrong. TLoZ: Skyward Sword is a videogaming masterpiece, and should be nothing but praised for it's gaming mechanics and it's gorgeous impressionist water color art style visuals. The art direction was a breath of fresh air, and it enveloped the TloZ series with perfection. NPCs and Enemies were full of detail and character. The storyline was the most emotional, endearing and entertaining than in any other entry before it. For all of those complaining about purchasing a WiiMotion Plus controller or the add-on just for one title, TLoZ: Skyward Sword makes that purchase totally worth it on it's own. You're all missing out on one of the very best videogames, if not the very best videogame of all-time.
Awesome choice Thomas Whitehead. TLoZ: Skyward Sword is a gaming masterpiece that completely deserves 100% completion. I actually wish the main game was a longer experience myself. Who knows if Nintendo will take the same artistic direction with their next entry in the series. But by God, I hope so.
Xenoblade Chronicles is my main gaming priority as of right now. There are so many sidequests! I never should've challenged myself to complete them all. It's a really good thing Xenoblade Chronicles is as an enjoyable experience as it is, or I would've given up already.
@IntoxicatedDuck, in case I'm unable to view the event on my Wii browser, could you guys upload like the last half hour or so on YouTube? I would love to see what type of affect 24 hours of non-stop gaming would have on a person. lol
First of all, will this event be visibly accessible for North Americans? Also, do you think the live coverage could be viewed on the Wii browser, or would I be forced to watch this on a computer?
@Mickeymac, apparently NintendoLife doesn't believe so. Just check out the score they awarded to, "Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love". Maybe the score for Sakura Wars should be revised, because I highly doubt it should be considered as being in the same caliber as Xenoblade Chronicles.

I downloaded Metal Slug 2 by accident, while checking the required block space. I barely ever play it, so I'm not very excited about Metal Slug 3.
No La-Mulana, no Retro City Rampage, no Prince of Persia and no Megaman X2= Not going to purchase any Wii points
Re: Heroes of Ruin Pushed to 17th July in North America
I've been following this game from the very beginning, and it's slightly humorous to notice how so many opinions have changed.
Re: Mad Dog McCree Takes Aim at eShop on 14th June
Maybe so @dark-insanity, but @Shotgunryugan was referring to Wiiware and not retail. Must somebody always try to contradict everything I mention?
Re: Mad Dog McCree Takes Aim at eShop on 14th June
@Shotgunryugan, you're thinking of the WiiWare title, "Fast Draw Showdown". Which I don't believe is the same game.
Re: Mad Dog McCree Takes Aim at eShop on 14th June

"few gamers potentially knew the lore or even the gameplay style of the NES original. That was probably for the best, as the 3DS title pays little respect to the original format"
This statement is just like telling someone it's probably for the better if they never experienced the original Super Mario Bros., before they've experienced Super Mario Galaxy 1 or 2. In my opinion, that's a very ignorant remark to be made.
Re: Enclave Finally Steps Out of the Shadows on 22nd May
Yeah, how would, "Enclave," rate after we've all been playing through, "Xenoblade Chronicles," and, "The Last Story"?
Re: La-Mulana Canned for North America, Europe
Re: La-Mulana Canned for North America, Europe
Wow! @MakeMyBiscuit, @Sherlock and @Knuckles, somebody sure is desperate. I love how you guys are so quick to freeload Wii points from someone who is at a low point in his/her life. What character you have.
Re: Talking Point: Why Skyward Sword Sales Failed to Soar
@drumsandperc92, I really have no idea what videogames you were playing my friend, but in no way at all did OoT or WW have a better constructed storyline. Hell, OoT barely even had a storyline at all.
Re: 'Majority' of Nintendo Games to be Released Digitally
@benandarchie, if you purchase every retail release digitally, you won't have the choice or ability to trade-in or sell games you don't find enjoyable. I know digital content can be a lot more convenient, accessible and affordable, but it can also easily become a mistake that can't be resolved.
Re: Talking Point: Why Skyward Sword Sales Failed to Soar
Re: Heroes of Ruin To Include Free Daily Challenges for a Year
This and Super Mario 3D Land were the two games that made me really wish I could afford a 3DS. Oh well, maybe someday I will be able to.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend?
Awesome choice Thomas Whitehead. TLoZ: Skyward Sword is a gaming masterpiece that completely deserves 100% completion. I actually wish the main game was a longer experience myself. Who knows if Nintendo will take the same artistic direction with their next entry in the series. But by God, I hope so.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend?
Xenoblade Chronicles is my main gaming priority as of right now. There are so many sidequests! I never should've challenged myself to complete them all. It's a really good thing Xenoblade Chronicles is as an enjoyable experience as it is, or I would've given up already.
Re: Charity Game-A-Thon Starts Today
@IntoxicatedDuck, in case I'm unable to view the event on my Wii browser, could you guys upload like the last half hour or so on YouTube? I would love to see what type of affect 24 hours of non-stop gaming would have on a person. lol
Re: Charity Game-A-Thon Starts Today
First of all, will this event be visibly accessible for North Americans? Also, do you think the live coverage could be viewed on the Wii browser, or would I be forced to watch this on a computer?
Re: Interview: Senile Team - Rush Rush Rally Racing
@TooManyToasters, this is on the WiiWare service my friend. I guess the developers aren't the only ones who are senile.
Re: Namco Bandai Shouts "Thundercats, Ho!"
Is that Lion-O or Carrot Top?
Re: Kid Icarus: Uprising Development Landed on Wii, Briefly
Yeah, I've known about this for awhile now. I find it most disappointing that KI:U wasn't also developed for the Wii.
Re: Review: Pandora's Tower (Wii)
@Mickeymac, apparently NintendoLife doesn't believe so. Just check out the score they awarded to, "Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love". Maybe the score for Sakura Wars should be revised, because I highly doubt it should be considered as being in the same caliber as Xenoblade Chronicles.
