@Goombaslayer I agree with what you're saying. They're sticking with titles that have proven successful and it's definitely not a bad thing. I personally need variety, which is where ZombiU, MH3U, Injustice, ACIII and upcoming non-Nintendo titles fit in. They're sprinkling in games like Bayo 2, W101, and X (W101 is releasing in a couple months). I honestly hope they keep securing games that break the Nintendo mold.
I love a lot of their games and have no hangups about the ratings or the art style, but they really impress me when they throw in the Red Steel 2's, No More Heroes, Madworlds, Conduits, etc. Just keep em comin Ninty and please be more aggressive in the RPG genre (like the OPrainfall games, just be more consistent throughout the lifespan). You have the technology, you can rebuild it.
@mikeyman64 ikr. I did some research. There are roughly 20 titles releasing between now and the end of the year. 30+ titles if you count indie. If you count VC the number is probably more like 40-60.
Big deal. We're not getting an FPS/gritty title. Who buys Nintendo for those anyway?
This game looks amazing! Day 1 for me. Enjoyed the heck out of the 1st DMC and enjoyed the heck out of every Platinum game that I've played. Keep sprinkling in variety like this Ninty. It suits the system well.
Metroid Prime Hunters sequel that allows online play for Wii U. That's what I'd like to see...I'm sure there are purists that wouldn't touch an online Metroid game, but I'm definitely NOT one of them.
Had a lot of fun w/ Other M and had no issues with the story or direction they took with Samus as a character.
Wii U tech is above PS3/360 tech, but def below PS4/Xbox 1. The gap between Wii U and the other next gen is much less than Wii and current gen though.
A lot of their games are hitting 1080p 60fps. It streams to the pad (in most cases) while pulling this off.
I'm honestly not worried about what I'll miss though. Nintendo just needs more unique games through exclusive support (like they've done w/ Platinum on Wii U and like they did w/ Suda on Wii). I can play almost everything else on PC, but normally pass because I think the FPS genre is tired...and that's like 30%-50% of the ''AAA'' titles that pass Nintendo over..
I agree with Tom Whitehead, but to take it further NIntendo just plain needs more studios. Western talent can only help them, more Japanese talent can only help them. I wish that Silicon Knights didn't degrade the way they did, could've been an excellent team for Nintendo. 1 exclusive per month from Nintendo, great. At least 2 exclusives per month, now you're talking. Nintendo just needs to start throwing money at Independent studios and saying "You're mine now"
@GearsOfWarU Welcome back to the world of Nintendo sir! Glad to have you back. When 360's go further down in price, I'll pick one up for RPGs that I've missed (Lost Odyssey before any other). Right now though, I'm satisfied and I'm happy with the Wii U titles I have (some ports, others exclusive) and my Wii and GC titles. I just feel like there's more diversity in the land of the Big N and the western market is definitely getting too saturated with shooters, grit, blood, and violence. Don't get me wrong though. I enjoy those games too, but they definitely don't take precedence for me.
They need a price cut. If they really want to sell during the holidays, they need a bundle. $299 w/ Mario 3D World, $249 w/ nothing. Sorry Nintendo, Nintendoland isn't the seller that Wii Sports was (maybe you should revive that too).
They'll definitely lose too many on the fence customers to PS4 if the price is $50 difference (even if their bundle is $50 difference). They need $100 dollar difference on a bundle to grab as many customers as possible. The 3DS was sparked because of a SIGNIFICANT difference in price vs Vita along with key 1st party titles. 3rd party support came after.
@citizenerased Honestly, I'm happy with map/inventory and off tv implementation. People will complain if the Pad isn't used enough and people will complain if it is. shrugs
Then they need to work on refreshing old franchises! More Kid Icarus! Excite (I loved Excitetrucks)! Earthbound! Advance Wars (how have they overlooked this for the gamepad)! Fire Emblem U! F-Zero! Eternal Darkness! Sin and Punishment! Starfox! Punch-out!
Edit: I left out Metroid (we got one not too long ago, but FPA metroid's are where it's at).
I'd love to see another game from Last Story's creator. Honestly, maybe if they delayed the oprainfall games to optimize them for the Wii U, the launch would've gone LOADS better.
@Peach64 Seems ignorant to dismiss all possibilities, "conspiracy" or otherwise. I agree that these decisions are driven by money, but I don't think it's a stretch that this situation is probably more dynamic than that
I don't get how people are disappointed...Have you played demos for any of these 4 games yet? No? Ok then, quit acting like entitled children. But...But....I wanted frosted flakes ! (Super Mario U). I'm sure that game has a long way to go and a demo this early doesn't really make sense.
I won't say I'm uber excited, but eager nonetheless. My Best Buy is about 20 min away and it's definitely going to be worth the trip. Looking forward to getting my hands on 101 and Wind Waker
@KaiserGX Um, I was agreeing with you, not arguing, but whatever.
@Zombie_Barioth I don't think there's anything wrong with his actions (your opinion won't change mine), but if you read my whole post, the last thing I said was that I think Hideki should just ignore it (having notifications ON for a high traffic account would be ridiculous). No need to drag this out further.
"Listen ladies and gentleman, I must apologize to you for my stating this, but these constant 'smash bros' questions are starting to wear thin. Would all of my followers kindly refrain from any further inquiries related to this? Thank you and have a nice day."
Nope. F-off gets the point across much better and if these people aren't reading previous responses to the SAME questions, why would the above have any impact?
I don't fall over ga ga for 'celebrities' and pester them. If I did, I would expect a curt, colorful response. Would I be offended or hurt, maybe, but someone needs to wake you up to actions that grate on the nerves.
This guy has GOT to be busy with projects right now. Maybe his 'fans' could show a little more consideration and leave him the **** alone. Like I said earlier though, he needs to just ignore all of those questions.
@KaiserGX Exactly. Just because you have a lil spotlight on you doesn't mean that everything that you're connected to SHOULD automatically take heat over your actions.
It's a horrible train of thought, popular, but horrible. Pretty sad to think that the public won't let you be a person after you're a part of something great/popular. I love that so many people associate his actions with professionalism. Sorry...this guy can't be professional/politically correct 24/7 and you shouldn't expect him to. #Deal with it
Besides, teams that work together within a corporation large or small normally have an office intranet that can be linked to their phone...or Outlook...I really doubt that he uses THAT twitter for anything 'important'. IF he has phone notifications on, he's only stressing himself out because of the traffic that he'd receive. I like that you want to consider the other side of it, but that view just doesn't make sense, imo.
Just shutup about Rayman already. Go play the challenge app, it's a FREE diversion that, imo, is an excellent consolation. I was angry about it initially too, but looking at the bigger picture, they supported the Wii with exclusives and multiplat and ARE supporting the Wii U in the same way. This is FAR more than what can be said about the majority of 3rd parties.
I say just leave all these people on Twitter alone. If I was him, I'd only post to the Twitter page and ignore all the stupid questions. Just reading them as an outside party irritated me.
This game can go right next to Mass Effect 3 (In the trash). Both are good, but way too expensive considering the alternative offerings. Thanks for showing 3rd parties how it's done Rebellion sarcasm.
Duh, I'm buying EVERYTHING that Platinum releases for Nintendo. I want them to maintain a healthy relationship. I've enjoyed every game they've developed for Wii and the fact that they're doing awesome Exclusives should be reason enough for fan support.
Step 1: Wii U audience buys many Ubisoft games Step 2: Ubisoft decides to continue support (AC4, Watchdogs, Splintercell) Step 3: Repeat Step 1 with other deserving companies and their games.
I've had the Wii U since launch and haven't once griped about there being too few games. Go check the store shelves, load up eShop, or look at their current library, there is plenty to play.
That said I can't freaking wait for the new X (enoblade?) game! Oh, and Monster Hunter 4 for 3DS (hurry up and come stateside).
When the time comes, Nintendo HAS to spend money on a Wii U ad campaign. Not just for 1st party, but 3rd party exclusives as well. Anyone remember the MHTRI ads a couple years ago? I do and that's what sucked me in. MHTRI sold very well in the US because of that. Sales for that series were garbage prior.
I would definitely pick up a copy of Red Steel 3 crosses fingers. The only Ubi title that I might not pick up right away is the next AC. I hope Splinter Cell Online turns out great though!
The money just has to be there, so don't hold out for just Mario/Zelda! Platinum has my money, Ubi has my money (mostly), and Capcom has my money. Grasshopper: do you want my money? I have some to give and want to give to you.
3rd party exclusives do well. Multiplat (for the most part), not so much. Uber violence (for the most part), not so much. As long as Nintendo coordinates release schedules, we'll continue to see 3rd party support from great partners.
Yup. The market is changing, but it's not the same market. I don't think the people interested in handhelds are missing handheld titles because of their phone. Tablet, maybe just a litlle. This is a new cash pool, not an existing one. Take iOS market away, the handheld gaming profits wouldn't be drastically different imo.
I love Nintendo and my Wii U, but I never see commercials. Sorry, but most folks do still watch TV. Gotta spend money to make money. I always see a flood of Xbox/PS commercials. Get with the program Nintendo of America!

Re: Hideki Kamiya Still Wants to Work on Star Fox
It would be an amazing fit. Someone else mentioned Treasure being a great fit for Starfox somewhere as well.
Either way, I'd buy it and I know it'd be great. Platinum could definitely make that series fresh and challenging. Get on it Nintendo.
Re: Iwata: More Unannounced Third Party Titles Will Come
@Doma Awesome reference. Definitely a great movie and how the Nintendo/3rd party discussion feels.

Re: Miyamoto Focuses on New Gameplay Experiences Before New IPs
Nintendo fans know that the gameplay changes within the well known franchises, many other people just look and say "Oh, they're doing THAT again?"
Re: Miyamoto: Zelda Wii U Was Considered For Display At This Year's E3
@theadrock13 That's definitely subjective. I though SS was great.
I think Nintendo's wise for doing this. Release WW and then reveal the new Zelda a month later.
Re: Call of Duty: Ghosts Confirmed For Wii U
This is good news however you spin it. COD is a HUGE franchise. I may or may not get it. I'm content w/ BLOPS II.
