I have to say I like his list of music sources, particularly Fire Emblem and the Mother series. But this sort of project sounds like the type Nintendo would shoot down in a heartbeat, unfortunately. But I wish him the best of luck reaching his goal. It's definitely something I'll keep an eye on.
Yeah, it'd be nice to legally purchase soundtracks for Nintendo games and not have to import it or pay some outrageous sum for it. There have been a lot of soundtracks they've composed over the years that are just amazing, something I'd be willing to buy, but sadly can't. The fact that they're releasing Pokemon OSTs gives me a little hope that we'll see Fire Emblem Awakening, Super Mario 3D World and DK Tropical Freeze's soundtracks one day. Not to mention all the wonderful osts from their hundreds of other titles...
Yeah, I don't understand all the negativity. Was it a knock your socks off reveal? Far from it. But seriously, I don't see this as bad. They're marketing for a game that's coming out sooner than say...A new Metroid or Zelda. Which in my opinion, isn't a bad thing at all. It's not like they ever said, "Yep. We're gonna reveal Zelda U." Never assume things, friends. That aside, I'm really looking forward to Tropical Freeze!
Anyways, pertaining to the article here, any new IPs from Nintendo are totally welcome. It'll definitely be nice to see something entirely new from them, considering the last new IP (to my memory anyways) was Pikmin.
I'm not sure I understand all the negativity around this commercial. It's a good move to focus on the younger audience, with Christmas coming and all. Commercials like these will definitely sway parents looking for a kid-friendly experience towards the Wii U. Xbox One and PS4 are definitely missing that audience from the ads I've seen from the two. Though I really do hope Nintendo will dish out some ads targeting older audiences soon. The Wii U definitely isn't just for little kids, they should make that more clear.
Ah perfection, a goal that will always be out of reach...Really, I just find the concept of perfection to be something that can never be achieved. There'll always be someone who will dislike one thing, and another who'll really love that aspect. Really, it's all up to the opinion of the player if it's perfect or not. But I do appreciate that he's giving his A-game with every new installment of the series. It's a nice ambition and it really tells a lot about his standards as the series' producer.
While I'm glad to see that Marth has finally made his inevitable return and we have an FE rep, I'm still worried about Ike. I really hope he isn't benched because of Chrom or heaven forbid Lucina... Don't get me wrong, I liked Chrom just fine, but as far as FE lords go, he felt bland. I think Ike still deserves the place as the secondary Fire Emblem character. For one, he starred in two games already, not to mention he actually has a descendant that practically acts as a homage to him in Awakening. Plus there's the fact that to this day, he's the only FE protagonist not to be of noble-birth. Ranting aside, I'm just gonna keep my fingers crossed. :U
This actually holds some truth to it. When I went out to get my own Wii U at Target, I overheard another customer coincidentally asking one of the tech-employees about the Wii U. The employee basically said that there was no difference between it and a Wii. This wasn't when it first came out either, this was literally only three days ago. While I realize Nintendo could have done a better job with marketing and making it clear that the Wii U is it's own console, it's still a little sad when people don't even know the difference between the products they're selling.
I'm gonna cross my fingers Olimar, Toon Link, Lucas and Ike make the cut. Though I have a feeling they'll all be dropped due to lack of fame or in favor of a newer character...
@Ernest_The_Crab No, the difficulty didn't have much to do with being in control of completely different units every couple of chapters, it was actually a lack of balance in the difficulty levels. The game's normal mode is practically the equivalent of the other series entry's hard mode. I to this day still haven't been able to get past Part 1 on normal mode.
@Shiryu Haha, I already do actually! I've loved all the work the composers have done in the series so far, but the music in Awakening is by far my favorite soundtrack done by them. I'm just glad someone appreciates the music in the series enough to make such beautiful arrangements of them!
@Haywired Actually, Radiant Dawn is considered one of the hardest games in the series. Shadow Dragon is pretty balanced, but the character balance kind of felt a little off. So I wouldn't say they're the series norm. If you liked Sacred Stones, then I'm sure you'll enjoy Awakening.
Looking at it artistically, it looks great. Not bad at all. Would I want to see it in a Zelda game though? No way. It just doesn't convey that Zelda-y feeling, if that makes any sense... myself prefer the WW style art style.
Yeah, gotta say, tablet games aren't really games in my opinion...They're more like time killers if anything. Not that the games are what people buy iPads/tablets for anyways, they're just a nice addition to it.
Anyways, after reading the comments on this story here, I only got one question...Why're there Nintendo haters on a Nintendo based website? I honestly don't understand it. Do people actually sign up to a website just to throw out hate comments? Sounds like a waste of time...Just what I'm thinkin' though.
Okay, this seriously has got to come to America now...I'm loving everything about it, Especially how they're reusing a lot of elements from Sacred Stones. I also like the little PoR remix they put in the video...very nice touch.
Wow this makes me feel old. GC is still my favorite gaming system despite these "flaws" it had. It had some of Nintendo's best games on it in my opinion, like Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine, PM:TTYD, Melee, Wind Waker, and Fire Emblem:PoR....Yep, those were the good old days.
@ Syd-Lalak agreed I dont want it to be rushed I mean sure if they rush it would be here faster but then they wouldnt be able to take the time to put detail into the gameplay and improve on the formula we've seen in the series.

Really looking forward to this game, If it isn't released to NA...Well I'll be upset.
Re: Miyamoto: "Retro Could Work with Nintendo on Zelda"
Seeing how well they did with DKCR, I think they could work with Zelda without making it lose it's touch.

Can't say I'm too excited for the 3ds Sonic Generations, Since the Ps3 and Xbox360 versions look a lot better. But this looks promising.
