It's all in Japanese, but that won't stop you enjoying this video of Fire Emblem: Kakusei (aka Fire Emblem: Awakening), will it?
From dialogue and cut scenes to battles and maps, it's got all the daily Fire Emblem nutrition you need.
The game's out in Japan next month. Nintendo of Europe has confirmed it'll release the RPG in 2012 but Nintendo of America is keeping quiet so far.

Sooooo EXCITED!!!! Gosh I really can't wait to play this game lol I think I may just replay the DS version in preparation =D
NOA keeping quiet on things has become a sort of habit recently (a most unfortunate one too). They suck at communication these days. America is still waiting on Last Story >...
On the topic of Fire Emblem, it's nice to see some little changes, like the coliseum now being a proper map apparently, allowing you to take several units with you in there to train them. I hope all dialogues are voiced too ! That would be superb.
Don't like the new arena format. Then again, with free map offering much safer forms of (fairly unnecessary) free EXP the risky old format wouldn't get used at all.
The problem with voice acting is this adds yet another delay to completing the localisation (fan demands for 200,000 words of support conversations which largely go unread do not help either) which given Fire Emblem games generally take ages as it is makes me wonder how late in 2012 (if at all) this will come out.
I wouldn't mind if I had a realistic choice in the matter (i.e. could play the game without having to buy an expensive and largely useless Japanese 3DS) as has been the case with past games in the franchise.
@Kafei2006. At least NOA have said Xseed are bringing The Last Story. Better than no news for what was it, 4 or 5 months ala Xenoblade (and that was 4 or 5 months after EU release, let alone the EU announcement).
NOA is always last. Well usually. Or they dont geet it. (sighs) special edition 3DS, i want you...
Normally, I'm not a big fan of the reclass system. Only used it a little in FE11 since most of the character are extremely lacking, especially in their base classes. But by George, gimme my dragon on dragon (well...Manakete on Wyvern) shown in that trailer and I'll think better about it.
@Starwolf_UK
Fans don't read the supports? I don't know about you, but I tend to read every support I get. And the ones I don't get after many playthroughs, I go to Serenes Forest to read.
Dang, they sure do know how to please fans on this one. I'm not sure how much I like the synthesizer they're using this time around, but it was great to hear the nostalgia enducing song "Like Father Like Son" from FE9 start around 3:20.
@starwolf_uk
I can't tell you how many times I replay a Fire Emblem game to read the support conversations I missed.
I'm gonna be pissed if this game doesn't come to North America. I love the Fire Emblem series, especially the ones on Gamecube and Wii.
NOA would be idiots not to localize this in the US. After Xenoblade, and then the Last Story. I think they've learned their lesson: just localize it. Let alone one of their bigger franchises. I think we'll get Fire Emblem.
@VincentV
Still waiting on FE12. Thank goodness DS games are still region free on 3DS. If NoA for some ridiculous reason localizes FE13 and not FE12, I'll have to import.
I can't wait to hear this in English. While in my hands. NOA please come though for me. I refuse to believe I'm not getting this.
@Kafei2006
So now the arena is basically like the Tower of Valni...except you can get money, too? Sweet. A bit weird since this should make the arena easier compared to the GBA games. Would've been nice to see FE4's arena make a comeback.
Ugh... the graphics look awesome, but for some reason it's making me nervous.
It's reminding me of Radiant Dawn, which I didn't like.
I really hope they develop the characters well. I haven't seen much of that in Shadow Dragon or Radiant Dawn. Hell, something seemed off in Sacred Stones. The original GBA one was my favorite.
@spidey1010
Just wanted to make sure. Most likely, you mean that you like the second GBA one right? The first GBA Fire Emblem was only released in Japan (Roy's game).
Okay, this seriously has got to come to America now...I'm loving everything about it, Especially how they're reusing a lot of elements from Sacred Stones. I also like the little PoR remix they put in the video...very nice touch.
so apparently we can customize different skills to your comrades... thats kinda crazy, unless someone here is a Japanese translator im going to continue thinking this, because it showed around 4.30 a list of skills being equipped to a character.
The release of Sacred Stones has made American's more informed about the franchise. I had never played it till I got that game, now I love the series!
Want, want, want and want.
@Koto: Wait, by not localized do you mean DS or 3DS games? Also, are you a member on Serenes Forest since you mentioned it?
@koto It really depends on player (I find it to be a chore so do a no support run until I recruit everyone then copy the save there; doesn't hep in Path of Radiance though) but I think the base conversations are a better way of providing accessible dialogue/backstories. Also having characters not fade into the background the map after they are introduced helps.
@Zephren. You earn skills as you level up based on class (so reclassing has some importance) and can have up to 5 equipped at any time. I can't remember if its possible to trade skills or not. Also expect skills that can't be removed.
The game looks epic n' beautiful, I'm most definitely gonna' enjoy this.
@Zephren Yeah, he said you can customize skills. That will make things pretty interestin'.
@Koto
Yup, the first GBA outside of Japan is what I meant. I wasn't aware of the real first GBA one.
