Re: Soapbox: The SNES Classic Edition Pre-Order Farce Proves Nintendo Hasn't Learned A Thing

Miigato

I had every alert set up, email notifications from amazon, etc. Got alerts from BB the night before, but sold out fast. Missed the 3 am launch on Amazon, no email from them. The next day, tried to order when they went live from Target, removed from cart, GameStop, removed from cart, site crash, Walmart, no stock, sold out. Rolled to my local game stop after calling them, and I was able to pre order one of 10 they have in store to sell. There were three nerds behind me to get theirs. Nintendo failed...again.

Re: Review: Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures (Wii U eShop)

I downloaded this on our wii that uses my son's NNID. I modified parental controls so that he cannot play the game without putting in a pin. I played it for about 30 minutes. It was ok. It was very very difficult, almost everything insta kills you, similar to games in the 80s. So you need mad skillz if you are going to tackle this game. The adult content was pretty entertaining.

Re: Mega Man amiibo Pre-Orders Reportedly Delayed Into March By Amazon in North America

Miigato

Bowser and Toon link were showing March 2nd last week. I preordered these from amazon. I just got notification that they are being shipped and should be here Friday. I preordered the same two amiibos from Walmart. I checked walmart's status, they said these Amiibos were scheduled to release Feb 1, but they were delayed to Feb 6, and will be shipping out on the 6th. The local TRU has similar signs. It's a distributor and supply issue, it's not retailers problem. I preordered all the Super Smash Bros Amiibos (game with Mario as well), and the release date, on Amazon, for those amiibos, is next year... LOL! Basically Amazon is like "we really don't know when they will be in stock and ready to ship".

Re: Club Nintendo Goes Rewards Crazy With Final Update in North America

Miigato

To all the people complaining about me taking pictures of club codes on open box games at gamestop...Please control yourself. These are games that are never going to be sold and the reward program is ending in MARCH so chill the EFF out with your condemnation of me and what I am doing to get some extra coins. Not to mention most people dont even use these codes. I have bought used Nintendo games in the past, that had the NC code in the damn box, entered it, and got credit.

Re: Target Won't Be Restocking Rosalina amiibo, Selected Wave 3 Figures Won't Be Available In-StoreĀ

Miigato

I was able to preorder one, and its coming this week. What amazes me, is that I went to Target yesterday, after picking up my preorder of Lucario, and Bowser was on the display, probably about 6. TRU had some kind of sign up about the new wave of Amiibos, that the date was pushed. I had pre-ordered Bowser and Toon link from Walmart and Amazon. Amazon is saying March 2nd or before, while Walmart is saying they are releasing Feb 6, and I should get them after that. This Amiibo roll out has been a disaster. I paid 30 bux (15 for villager and 15 for shipping) to get villager from amazon Germany for my son. All of these unique amiibos appear to be available in other countries, so I think if you really want it you can get it, but you are looking to pay at least twice the amount.

Re: Talking Point: Club Nintendo's Closure Is An Exciting Opportunity To Modernise Fan Rewards

Miigato

@IceClimbers But you get the idea right. Don't you think this is where Nintendo is heading? From all that I have been seeing, it seems that they are trying to get to this stage, and perfect it before any of their competitors can. Sony has the PSP, but I am not really sure just how well that is selling or how well it's integrated into the playstation. Xbox isn't even trying to touch hand held gaming.

I was telling my son I think Nintendo, with what they have done with the Wii U and the 3DS are working on developing some kind of home system that is also portable. I suspect it will be some kind of 3DS XL that can doc into a home game pad station. Since the WII U we see how they are trying to bring both platforms to similar GUI's and user experience, as well as launching similar titles. The only down side to a system like this would mean that the portable system would have to be limited in the games it could play while detached, and you would have to have substantial storage space if a disc based game was to be played on the hand held (also means Nintendo would have to allow you to rip your disks to your system.

I really think this is where they are headed towards, but maybe it's too complicated to engineer.

Re: Poll: As amiibo Expands and Evolves, Which Features Are You Most Excited About?

Miigato

I watched the nintendo direct. At one point, talking about a new game for the 3ds, Steam something, you could use Marth, Ike, and Robin amiibos each round. Then the guy said, for those of you who didn't get Marth in the first wave, don't worry, we are going to be working to ensure plenty are in stock in time for this release (or something to that effect). Basically, as I told my son, when the Wii launched here in the US, and sold out, Nintendo focused on their EMEA launch for the Wii, they did not expect such a strong demand, but after they filled all of their orders in EMEA, they worked on ramping up stock back here in the US. All of these Amiibo's are going to be available again, and in years to come I suspect they will be collecting dust on shelves, as Nintendo over produces to meet demand. I see, on a daily basis, Villager available from Amazon Germany. I actually bought one from Germany for my son. With shipping, it cost a little over $30, cheaper than what most scalpers are going for and what is available on Amazon US.

Re: Rumour: Toys "R" Us Cancelling amiibo Orders, Including Exclusive Lucario Figure

I got an email as well. Sonic, Megaman, and Lucario orders canceled. Earlier this week (this past Sunday actually) I got an email from Amazon telling me that Little Mac, Captian Falcon, and Pit were now available on their site, when I went, they were not to be found.. Some kind of glitch. And of course, as someone stated, Amazon posted a comment about those three Amiibos. This is irritating, as my son absolutely wants these, and I'm not the kind of dude who's going to check store inventories, I want to order it and have it shipped.
