Re: A Totally Complete Version Of Star Fox 2 Really Does Exist

MarioFan1985

I've seen actual gameplay of this game on Youtube. Yes, I wish I had payed this game, it looked cool as I really like how the Arwings change into walking machines. I also like how there's a lot to do especially that you have to protect Corneria from missile attacks and Armadas. I would prefer this game over Starfox 64 which is over-rated in my opinion.

Re: Video: Prepare To Pour One Out For Sega's Fallen Child Stars

MarioFan1985

@outburst I've always been with Nintendo because it seems that they're the only video game company that makes video games and not interactive movies or put all of their emphasis with online co-op play, not to mention that Nintendo's games are hours of fun (unlike the dime a dozen cell phone games).

Re: The Legend of Zelda (Tentative Title)

MarioFan1985

@Gressil I thought Twilight Princess was quite good. But Skyward Sword was quite disappointing. It had a lot of dull colors and the graphics were a bit grainy as well, plus Link was a Righty (unfortunately it looks like he'll be a Righty again in this one, despite in Super Smash Bros and Hyrule Warriors where he's back being a Lefty).

Re: Review: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (Wii U)

MarioFan1985

Well, I may rent this on Gamefly, but that's about it. The next Wii U games I would like to buy are Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. Hopefully, the Wii U will have an improved library of games, a lot of hope was put into it and It's just as good if not better than the PS4 and the X-Box 1.

Re: TIME Lists Its Reasons For Picking Wii U Over PS4 And Xbox One

MarioFan1985

My personal reason to choose the Wii U over the PS4 and the X-Box One is because when it comes to video games, Nintendo is the master at it. The reason for that is Nintendo don't just put their emphasis on graphics, they try to make games that look and play good instead of just looking good. Still, I think that people play other consoles because they have some kind of a hatred for Nintendo because it's "for kids" or "the games are too easy" or "the graphics aren't good enough", that's all hogwash. Nintendo is still going strong, and it outlasted Sega, it can outlast Sony and Microsoft.

Re: Famitsu Reveals Japan's Best Selling Games Of The 21st Century

MarioFan1985

I want to pretend that I didn't see this coming. But, I'm quite happy that Everybody's Favorite Plumber (that's my own nickname for Mario ) is still the champion of Nintendo and he won't let some prissy little monsters take it from him. Plus, Japan really knows the real concept of video games, focusing more on general gameplay instead of on graphics and sound like a lot of American games do.

Re: Review: Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games (Wii U)

MarioFan1985

I just play games because I want to. One of the main weaknesses of the Mario & Sonic Olympic events games is that the controls are something to get used to, but if you can make it work for you, they're good games. For me, it's also the concept of the game itself. The 2010 Winter events is by far my favorite Mario & Sonic Olympic game because of the Fesitval Mode that plays just like the actual events themselves, and you can buy clothes and equipment for your Miis as well as secrets. Those modes and features weren't in the 2012 summer events (which was a serious letdown for me). The 2012 Mario & Sonic events was more or less like those Mario Party games. I'm just hoping that this upcoming Mario & Sonic Olympic events is much like in 2010 not just in controls, but game modes as well.

Re: Soapbox: Why Grand Theft Auto V Isn't For Me

MarioFan1985

I also want to say that Grand Teft Auto is one of the most dispicable video games ever created, but yet it's popular. I've been around video games all of my life and yes I've heard and even played games with high depictions of violence. But, what I really hate about GTA is the fact that it glorifies criminal activities (something that this country is trying feverishly to quell since it was it's own country in the 1700's). I really have to say about to the gamers today is "where is your conscience?" GTA has been in the news before wen several gamers played it and decided to do the game for real, and got into a lot of trouble because of it. Plus, this is in the wake of recent gun-related violence that this country experienced, I believe this country has had enough violence and criminal activities, I don't know about you modern gamers, but I personally have had enough. What's next, are we going to see a game where you play as Adolf Hitler and conquer the world, or as Arabic terrorists and get to shoot and kill US Soldiers? I think there's something very, very wrong in the modern video game industry.

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto: People Need To Be Patient With Wii U

MarioFan1985

I agree with Miyamoto-San 100%. I know that the Wii U didn't have an impressive game library from the outset, but it could be something good for the Wii U as it could have (and will in the near future) some very good titles for it.

Plus, I think that this is the problem I have with modern gamers. They're looking for "instant gratification" when it comes to consoles. It has to have these kind of graphics, those kind of features, these kind of games and so on in order for it to sell good or it's garbage.

I have news for those anti-nintendo people. The launch news of both the Playstation 4 and the X-Box one isn't looking good either.

Re: Soapbox: Mobile And Tablet Gaming Is Creating A Generation Of Talentless Players

MarioFan1985

By growing up in the NES/SNES era, I have to say that gaming is like an art. It does take skill to know how to beat it. Nowadays, I'm quite disappointed in the video game industry as a whole (not just the cell phone games), because you can play the game on the easiest difficulty and you can still see the game's ending, or there's a lot more interactive cutscenes than there's real gameplay. Seriously back in my day you had to play the game on the normal or hard difficulty in order to see the game's ending and there's only several seconds of cutscenes. Those cell phone games are just like...I would like to say slot machines for children. There really is no great skill involved in them and that's why there so popular.

Re: Talking Point: Wii U vs Xbox One - Online Requirements and On-Disc DRM

MarioFan1985

Well, I like on how gamers right now are saying negative stuff about this new X-Box (as I am anti-XBox because it's made by an evil corporation). But upon release it's going to be the talk of the town because it's "new". Seriously, the reason a lot of people (Americans in particular) because X-Box is "American" and not Japanese like Nintendo's consoles and the Playstations, or because you can play Online in tournaments. Of course, as being a lifetime gamer, I find Online play problematic, and with good reason. You don't know who you're playing online with, and that person may be using an emulator (which makes the gamer invincible in online play) or use another computer program that can mess up your game console, or steal your personal information.

As for buying used games, it is like a double-edged sword. Yes, they're cheaper, but you really don't know if that game is going to work or not. That happened to me when I bought Tekken Tag Tournament 2 for both the Wii U and the PS3, both discs didn't work and I had to download it from the PS Store. Plus, my Wii U can play Wii games, but my PS3 can't play PS2 games.

Hopefully, this new X-Box will fail. Sorry X-Box fans.

Re: SNES Classic SimCity Removed From Wii Virtual Console

MarioFan1985

Well they said now that EA owns the rights to those "Sim" games. The article also said that the 3 Donkey Kong Country games have been removed as well, that's because Microsoft still owns the rights to Rare, that's why we don't see Killer Instinct or Perfect Dark for Virtual Console. Of course, I would still like to see some of my other favorite video games that aren't on Virtual Console. I don't know if that'll happen though.

Re: Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper

MarioFan1985

I have this game for the Playstation 3. Of course it's just your ordinary, run-of-the-mill hack & slash game and the graphics are really good as well. Though the voice over in the PS3 version is all in Japanese. I'm just hoping that the Wii U version will feature an English talent. What I like about it is that it also features Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden.

Re: Talking Point: A Big Year for Nintendo

MarioFan1985

I think that the reason why Nintendo had a huge loss in revenue is because the competition with Sony and Microsoft is much more intense, and the Wii didn't feature any of the more popular games that feature online gaming (something I find technically problematic) and it's not just the consoles either, the handheld competition is also more intense as the 3-DS now has to face the PS Vita, Microsoft might even get itself into the handheld competition someday. Now isn't the time for Nintendo to press the panic button, they just have to hope that the Wii U can feature some of the features (if not all of them) that Sony and Microsfot's new generation conoles are going to feature as well as have the popular games to be available for the Wii U, have it be for hardcore gamers as well as be family friendly.

Re: Talking Point: Why Wii U's Image Must Grab Attention

MarioFan1985

Well, I think that the Wii U should also do along with selling multi color consoles is to also have some of the more popular games to be available to it. PS3 and X-BOX 360 for the most part slapped the regular Wii in the face for the games that they had, and to allow online play for the games as well (though I'm not a fan of that feature), also to allow add-ons for games to keep them fresh longer. So far, the Wii U looks promising to at least release some of the more popular games (like Batman: Arkham City). I don't know about DLC and online play yet.

Re: Miyamoto: "Eventually Nintendo Must Survive Without Me"

MarioFan1985

I have heard this before. Of course, a lot people were in both an uproar and happiness with this. But then, I heard that he really wasn't planning on retirement just yet. Well, I knew that Miyamoto-san wouldn't do what Keiji Inafune did, just leave without a successor (which puts Megaman's future in Jeopardy), so that way, we'll still see Mario and Zelda games be made even after Miyamoto-San's eventual retirement.

Re: This Zelda GameCube Controller is Awesome in an Ugly Way

MarioFan1985

I did not have this controller in particular. But I did have the Megaman X themed Controller (to promote Megaman X Collection). Though, It was supposed to have lights on it and light up when X Charges his X-Buster, but this feature must have been dropped. But it was still a good controller.

Re: Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Blocked Marvel vs Capcom 3's Wii Attack

MarioFan1985

Well, when Tatsunoko VS. Capcom came out. I was anticipating that it would be one of the best Tournament fighting games for the Wii, then it turned out to be a humongous pancake (flop) of 2010 (alongside Super Mario Galaxy). This is probably because of limited roster of familiar characters. Well, the Roster for Marvel VS. Capcom 3 doesn't look very promising either. Of course, it will have characters such as,

Marvel side: Spider-Man, Wolverine, The Hulk, Cyclops, Iron-Man and War Machine

Capcom Side: Ryu, Chun-Li, Zangief, Morrigan, Megaman, Strider Hiryu and Jin

But, both sides have new characters as well, which I ersonally never heard of. So, this might be worth to rent on Gamefly, but I don't think I should consider buying this game.

Re: Miyamoto Humbly Accepts BAFTA Fellowship Award

MarioFan1985

Well, this does not surpirse me that Miyamoto would receive such a high praise award likw that from the west. Personally, I call him the "Walt Disney" of video games, he made video games a profitable business. I am hoping that he would soon receive an American VG award of some kind, becuase he deserves it.

Re: Zombies Ate My Neighbors

MarioFan1985

I have recently bought this game in VC. Though, it was not a complete waste of my Wii points, but it is quite confusing to play as it has a difficult continue feature, and this game is suoppseoed to be humorous because it is a comedic take on bad horror movies from the 50's, I did not find anything humorous in this game. Though I liked the idea of using ordinary items (such as dinner plates and a squirt gun) as weapons.

Re: Review: Final Fight 3 (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)

MarioFan1985

I downloaded this game a while back, and while it does not have the same calibur as the previous 2, and it is a lot like Streets of Rage (with the added special moves) it is still afun brawler and is well worth my time. I also like how Guy was in this game, and because he was the omission in the first game for the SNES.

Re: New Super Mario Bros. Wii

MarioFan1985

I have just received this game, though very good, but very similar to its DS counterpart, and it also has some Super Mario Bros. 3 elements in there as well, like battling some enemies that appear on the screen and toad house minigames that you play for items and 1-ups, plus the Kooplings from SMB 3 are also in this game, which they really need a major comeback (and I am not talking about M&L). But overall good, I recommend this to anybody.

Re: Final Fight 2

MarioFan1985

I have this for virtual console, and I also remeber this for the Super NES, this game was better than the first (for the Super NES, not the Game Boy Advance remake) because of the difficulty level and it is done better and had whatever what was left out of the first game for the Super NES. I like this game a lot.

Re: Fighting Street

MarioFan1985

I have this game, and it is nostalgic. However, the game's engine and gameplay were horrendous, and it is virtually impossible to perform the special moves, and because of this some of the game's fighters are quite difficult to defeat and because you can continue so many times, you must be an expert to face the game's final fighter, Sagat.

Re: Review: Street Fighter Alpha 2 (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)

MarioFan1985

I do remember this game as I have played it on both the Super NES and the Playstation, however I would have to say that the Playstation version is better as it has better sound and better gameplay, but the Super NES version is till quite good, though the Super Combos are a buit difficult to execute (especially when you want to execute the stronger levels), and of course Shin Akuma is insanely difficult (though I did defeat him one time with Guy), but overall, good.
