@Serpenterror The 7th Saga is a different game series. What is missing for the SaGa series is Unlimited SaGa, and the remakes of SaGa 2 & 3 that are on the DS. Plus SaGa 1 really deserves a Remake at some point
I know it's niche but, what about Super Robot Wars Y? It's the first time we're getting an english release for the franchise on consoles without having to get one of the asia versions.
Having played through the Remaster, I feel that the new story content feels like they were supposed to be there all along(I've heard that some of this was cut content from the ps1 version). I didn't notice any issues with the frame rate/pacing(OLED handheld mode) but, I haven't done a side by side comparison.
As for the review's issue about durability, after a point you start getting several items with infinite durability. The game not explaining it's systems to you beyond the bare minimum is very typical of the SaGa series but, there are many guides online that have explanations if you need help
I think the style is fine as long as they try to do more than the bare minimum with it. Octopath 1 and Triangle Strategy worked but, compared to something like DQ3 where it felt like they put extra effort to make the areas feel new and unique instead of "X with a new coat of paint". I feel something would've been lost if DQ3 had been remade entirely in 3D.
DQ3's battle system is first person but, you get to see the backs of your characters when choosing commands. Once a turn actually starts, it zooms in to a first person point of view
@Dpullam New DQ3 players like yourself are the reason why SE is asking people to not spoil the ending/postgame in the first month(and that's understandable). It's a great game but, it was a early NES rpg originally(it came out the same year as Final Fantasy 1) so keep that in mind.
More than likely, there are new story elements during the ending/postgame that connects to DQ1 & 2(or that other game). It's not like it's a big ask when it's only for 30 days
While Nintendo tends to be overzealous with their litigation, this is a case where he had already received a warning(and possibly a cease and desist letter) and then he not only continued, he did the massively stupid decision to tell them that he will continue to do so no matter what.
With nintendo's track record of going after people, what did he expect?
I've missed out on a few games here and there but, I've mostly enjoyed the franchise. I can definitely see Romancing Saga 3 and SaGa Frontier 2 getting remakes along the lines of Revenge of the Seven. I wanted to like Unlimited but, it's way too experimental, maybe a remake/remaster will smooth out some of the issues
Romancing Saga 2 is not as straight forward as some of the other SaGa titles so I'm not surprised that some of the reviews are not as lower than expected. I didn't expect Emerald's battle system because RS2 is a very different game and I probably wouldn't have picked it up if it had the same engine.
Aside from the performance issues(no surprise), all of the changes I've seen in the demo(and news releases) show that RS2 Revenge of the Seven is a massive overhaul of an old Super Famicom RPG(not bad for a 31 year old game)
Considering the "surprise" at the end of another DQ game that linked to III, I wouldn't be surprised to find that carrying data from III to I & II will add some new content that links back to that game. There's even the possibility that it may even be an extra party member

@KimBread No, RS3 only got the same "remaster" as RS2 did years ago.
Re: Anniversary: Romancing SaGa 3 Celebrates 30 Years Of Eclipsing Death
I'm expecting a remake of 3 at some point since 1 & 2 have received solid remakes.

More than likely we'll get Prime 2 & 3 in 2025 before 4 comes out.
