Re: Review: Word Searcher 4 (DSiWare)

Lobster

I salute NL's goal of reviewing everything, even the random crap nobody cares about, because, however unlikely, there may actually be someone out there who is browsing through the eShop and says, "Hmm, Word Searcher 4... I wonder how that is?" And that person deserves an honest review. So thanks.

Re: Feature: Memorable Zelda Moments

Lobster

What about that first time way back when when you stepped out into Hyrule Field in OoT? And the music played and your jaw dropped because it was so BIG and looked so GOOD? (Remember, it did look good back then! XD) And you knew you had barely started and you had this whole massive game to explore.

And then you got a talking to by an owl. Ugh.

Re: First 3D Classics: Kid Icarus Footage Flies In

Lobster

Yet another NA gamer hoping the deal comes here. I've already qualified if it does. I was a bit young for the NES era (I was about four when SNES came out) so I have no first hand memories of Kid Icarus but this looks great to me!

Re: SupaBoy Is a Portable Super Nintendo for $80

Lobster

As much as I want this I think I'll sit this one out, at least until a newer, better version comes out. We're setting up a media room in the basement anyway, and going to connect up all our consoles at once, SNES included.

Re: Nintendo of America's Zelda Room is Awesome

Lobster

Yet another person who really wants the Rupee pillows. Ohoh, I could hide them in bushes in the back yard and then whale at the bush with a stick until they fall out!

... Ooooor I could use them as throw pillows. Either way.

Re: Feature: Keeping Mario at the Top

Lobster

I don't think we should worry about what happens when all these people working on Mario eventually die. There are a lot of people working on Mario games, after all, so it's possible that someone could start out working on SMG2 or SM3DL and learn from those guys and eventually be on top in ten years.

I don't want to think about when Shigeru Miyamoto dies, though. That's really going to be tough for gaming as a whole. He's done more for gaming than any other person, possibly combined. It will be a very, very sad day.

Great article, though, despite all the talk of death in the comments!

Re: Talking Point: Why No Plans for GBA on 3DS Virtual Console?

Lobster

When they announced the whole Ambassador thing, and I saw the bit about exclusive GBA games, I took it as, "We'll be releasing GBA games at some point, but the only people who will get THESE GBA games are Ambassadors." Basically saying, tough luck, late adopters, no Mario Kart for you. I think Nintendo does love and appreciate early adopters, and this is their way of showing it, but they aren't going to shoot themselves in the foot by not releasing titles from an entire generation of handheld.

Re: Pokemon Blasting to Europe on 2nd December

Lobster

Personally I am also one of the apparently four people excited for this. There is not going to be a new gen for a while, guys, the timing is off. And the WiiWare Rumble game was ridiculously fun, if you haven't tried it yet it's absolutely worth the $15.

Re: Review: Star Fox 64 3D (3DS)

Lobster

The review looks great and so does the game! However, I will not be picking this up, due to my irrational hatred of StarFox games spanning back to the SNES. (WHY DID I SUCK SO BAD? WHY DID MY FRIEND RUB MY FACE IN IT?)

Seriously, guys, glad you're all happy.

Re: Feature: BIT.TRIP SAGA vs. BIT.TRIP COMPLETE

Lobster

I preordered SAGA a while ago. That said I only have a demo on the Wii that I haven't even gotten around to playing yet (I know, I know!) so there's a good chance I'll pick up COMPLETE at some point down the line. I just bought four new Wii games, though, including Okami, so it probably won't be soon.

Re: Flame Red 3DS Heats Up Australia from 22nd September

Lobster

I'm not really sure why someone would buy one color, then just buy another a few months down the road. I adore my Aqua Blue 3DS though. Also I'm the person that never even upgraded my DS phat to a DS Lite or DSi, so I have to say I'm not the sort of person that understands replacing perfectly good (gaming) hardware anyway.

Re: Review: Build-a-lot (DSiWare)

Lobster

This doesn't sound TOO awful bad... of course I'm a fan of the genre.

@2 Thanks. I was thinking I'd probably get it anyway, but your comment essentially confirmed it.

Re: Nintendo Brings Big Name Games to PAX This Week

Lobster

Haha, at least people remember Florida is a state. I'm from West Virginia. Not only does nothing ever happen here, and not only is it far from literally everything interesting, but most people seem to think it's actually western Virginia.

Re: Review: Mario's Picross (3DS Virtual Console / Game Boy)

Lobster

@NintendoFanatic98 Yes.

So glad I picked this up, it's so addicting I didn't even notice two and a half hours had gone by the first time I played it. The music is currently stuck in my head and that makes me want to play even more. This was my first Picross game, but absolutely not my last.

Re: Fils-Aime: "3DS Didn't Launch Prematurely"

Lobster

@7 I reserved Luigi's Mansion 2 at Gamestop yesterday when I picked up Zelda, and the sheet I got says 3 January for launch (at least two other games I reserved have the same date, including Animal Crossing). The date could easily change before then and of course that's the NA date anyway. But it's a date and you guys usually get games a day or two before us.

Re: Review: Alleyway (Game Boy)

Lobster

@21 Considering there's nobody else doing 3D right now really, and 3DSWare, I'm guessing Nintendo will still be able to say "we made the first 3D block breaker game." Haha! Though not entirely sure why anyone would brag/care about that.

Read this review earlier and I still have to say I'm sort of on the fence. It's slim picking right now on 3DS VC. Of course, I have Link's Awakening... And since I didn't have a DSi, I'm getting a lot of interesting DSiWare as well.

Re: Star Fox 64 3D Lands in North America on 11th September

Lobster

I'm another who thought that this is a bad NA launch date for a flight game... Especially considering it's the tenth anniversary, I mean if it were not a round number I would probably not be so surprised. But yeah, really should have thought this one through better, imo. Release it a week before or after, or hell, in the middle of the week even, not that game releases are ever in the middle of the week. But still. Duh, Nintendo.

EDIT: Anyway I'm not going to get this one, I've never liked Star Fox. Goes back to when I was a kid and I was just absolutely terrible at it I think. I actually was given the SNES version free a few years ago and still had so much bad feeling that I almost turned it down. For free! So yeah. I'm glad for everybody who is excited, though, I certainly feel the same way about OoT and last night's release of Link's Awakening. Which I need to get back to, 'scuse me.

Re: Iwata Expresses Regrets About the Way the Wii was Marketed

Lobster

Yeah, chiming in with another, "I loved the 'Wii would like to play' series." Something about those commercials just made me want to get a Wii, or find someone who had one and hang out. It just really captured something and struck a chord. I can't really explain why I loved them so much, I just did. Every time I saw one, it brought a smile to my face.

That said, while I don't think Nintendo's marketing is doing anything wrong, I'm still excited to see how they revamp it.

Re: Review: Nintendogs + Cats (3DS)

Lobster

My real cat is getting annoyed at all of my "Woook at da puppy-eeeeee" feelings toward this game, but right now I'm in love with it. It warms the cockles of my heart when Starburst the Golden Retriever hops up to lick me through the screen. <3 I don't even like dogs. But this game is tons of fun, and can be played for either a long-ish time or a short time. I love turning on the Pedometer and collecting presents. Just wish I had enough money in game to get a cat, and friends with 3DSes irl to... walk by, I guess!
