@Richnj I see how achievements can extend the life of a game for some people, but they have to actually be achievements, half the time you get a trophy for completing chapter 1, chapter 2 etc. Which is just the game...
Shadow of the Colossus is a prime example. Okay give a trophy or something for beating them all but this 'ding' you won and a pointless pop up is a waste of time after each colossi.
Or they go the other extreme and make them related to random events, I remember a FIFA one from a few years ago which was along the lines of clear the ball off the line after it had come off the keeper or some such nonsense, no skill involved, you'd just have to play 200 games until that situation arose.
It's the same game, in the same engine, just a different bit of presentation and some updated kits.
Good of EA to give this away as a free update but shows how easily they could just patch FIFA annually to update it for the new season but can't blame them for milking that cash cow.
I really want this to be good but I think it will be;
Overpriced
Have a poor quality screen
Include a cheap joystick and buttons, plus the joystick itself will be too small for extended play
Unfortunately I think it looks like a cash-grab, Neo-Geo was this mythical imported console with insane game prices growing up but it featured in mags like Mean Machines a lot so was something I always wanted but was unattainable for me at age 12.
BotW beats Odyssey by a long way in my book, it's a good game but not even in the same league as Breath of the Wild.
Zelda 2 was my first entry and I've been constantly disappointed by the Zelda series despite the hype time and again but BotW managed to take open world RPGs to the next level.
@Menchi187 so true, doesn't matter where you go all you see is him moaning over and over, very boring. I think he enjoys it though, obviously doesn't have anything better to do in life.
@cra1g0s you make some good points, and although the jump technically speaking from Wii U isn't huge the difference for me is the portability.
Being able to play proper games on the go or even around the house makes a massive difference for me personally.
Think I've said this before but there is no question the next version of Fifa I buy will be on Switch rather than my PS4 or Xbox One. The flexibility of where you play really is a game changer, I think this is true for many other people too.
@Ralizah I too love the Switch OS, clean, smart and fast. I'm just concerned Nintendo will listen to the people moaning and end up ruining it by making it like the Wii U or 3DS OS, both of which are utter crap.
@Alshain01 for someone not buying this system and doesn't like it you seem to have a lot to say on the subject. Could you not spend your time more productively discussing something you do like? Hopefully on another site.
This is very positive, is just a shame battery technology for consumer devices hasn't improved at the same rate as the devices themselves. Most of the improvements seem to be around better power saving functions and reducing background apps from sucking power constantly.
I'll be interested to see if that 2% drain increases when the online functionality is enabled with apps phoning home and updates being pulled down.
SE version adds bloom and fog which aren't exactly game changing. The main improvement is the jump to 1080p which won't make much odds on the 720 screen of the Switch.
If it can't do full HD docked then will probably get a lot of bad press unfortunately despite the fact you'll have Skyrim in the palm of your hand!

Re: NES Games On Switch Playable For Up To Seven Days Without Internet Connection
@Razer if you make it to the Galapagos then I'd suggest putting the Switch away for a while.
Checking once a week seems entirely reasonable to me, it's an online service after all.

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend?
More Zelda for me, still need to finish the Champions DLC and am trying to upgrade all my armour sets.

Re: Review: FIFA 18 (Switch)
@SLIGEACH_EIRE you do know you don't have to poison every article and review on Nintendo Life right?
Re: Review: FIFA 18 (Switch)
Pocket Gamer UK also have a review up, solid 7 out of 10.

Re: It Seems Argos Is Cancelling Some SNES Classic Mini Pre-Orders In The UK
@nooobbasher looks like mine is gone then, thankfully I have a collection with Smyth's still.
Re: It Seems Argos Is Cancelling Some SNES Classic Mini Pre-Orders In The UK
Thanks for the heads up, mine seems to have been cancelled too, no email just no order info online besides the price.
Thankfully I have another pre-order elsewhere.

@Meaty-cheeky thanks matey, just like good old spot the ball.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE
If you want bargains, discounts and generally lower prices then Nintendo probably ain't the brand for you.
Re: Deals: Nintendo Switch Upcoming Goodies For March And April
@erv personally think NL have way too many of these "articles", on the run up to the Switch launch it felt like there was at least 1 per day.

Re: Poll: Nintendo Switch Countdown - Less Than a Week to Go, Is the Hype Building?
@Talkshowhost am so stoked for the Switch, I'm in my mid 30s and my first ever console was a NES and I've had many Nintendo systems since.
Missed out on Fast on the Wii U but keen to pick it up on Switch in a few weeks.
Re: Feature: FAST RMX - The Price, Modes and Performance of Switch's Futuristic Racer
I meant to pick up on Wii U but never got round to it, really need a Wipeout fix and this should fit the bill.

Re: Review: Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers (New 3DS / SNES)
Not sure a game like this with no multiplayer can warrant a 7/10.
