Achievements are fine, but they're not necessary, unlockables however are a welcome addition. Either way, a good game is a good game with or without achievements.
I've played through more then half of the campaign of COD4. The level design was terrible, bland & created many extremely linear 1 dimensional moments except for a few levels(Very FEW Levels).
The 3 games I mentioned were extremely original FPS more so in that they brought allot of fresh game play ideas to the genre for their time. Devs are still using some ideas from those games to this day. And honestly...I have failed to see most modern FPS game in this modern era to come even close toward the quality standard of those 3 games besides graphics & frame rate obviously.
A.I. was straight forward in every COD, with a few programmed reactions in comparison to PD/T2/HL2. A.I. lacked depth from every COD experience I've had so far. Nothing special.
Half Life 2 was linear but had many ways to fight through a level by using your environment in various ways, branching path ways that reconnected to main pathways, Many different enemies/A.I behavior along with each one using specific different types of weapons, & revolutionary physics engine that created new gameplay possibilities.
Look, I'm not saying COD is a terrible game here, It's certainly not bad either, but it's definitely nothing amazing or unique except for the perk system. That I have to admit was the only thing keeping me playing COD online for awhile, but not for long.
I was talking mostly about actual innovation related to gameplay mechanics, customizable options, originality, immensely creative A.I. design, weapon functions, level design, and just about everything else from the 3 games I used to compare what COD lacks.
As far as 'perfecting online' goes COD was hardly the first at attempting this. Online gaming has been going on for almost 2 decades if not more(not sure how long exactly). Especially the FPS genre.
Eh.....It's not like the COD franchise is innovative enough for most gamers to care about it. Took over 7+ COD games just to barely do what Perfect Dark/Turok 2/ Half Life 2 already did over 8-14 years ago.....
100% agree with you. This was to get the Masses involved with Wii U, not so much for gamers who know what the Wii U will do already. This add Makes perfect sense for this purpose! I'm sure they'll have an add for the rest of us as they always do every generation.
I would totally shop here. Most M rated games these days are boring anyways imo because they focus to much on realism and shoot shoot shoot, kill kill kill, run run run, take cover formula waaay to much. I'll take fantasy, creative, fun games any day. Man I'm still a big kid!
I wouldn't have made an account here unless I believed Nintendo Life to be non objectionable in their reviews. Out of all the video game review/news out there I can only stand Nintendo Life and maybe Gamespy as well as 1 other. To many critics and so called 'gamer experts' exaggerate their own personal feelings of preference instead of being completely objectionable in seeing the pros/cons of a video game's design.
From the reviews and articles I've read so far on this website I have to say this is the most objectionable well rounded written staff I've seen thus far in all my life reading/viewing video game coverage. Although I don't always agree with some reviews 100% I would agree with how they're handled almost always. Have to give you all credit at Nintendo Life for an overall excellent website.
1.)Skyward Sword 2.)Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn 3.)Metroid Prime Trilogy 4.)Xenoblade Chronicles 5.)La-Mulana 6.)Super Mario Galaxy 2 7.)Twilight Princess 8.) Mario Kart Wii 9.) Donkey Kong Country Returns 10.)Super Smash Bros. Brawl
No Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn?? That is one of the best games on the wii and better then allot of the games on this list. Not a bad list btw, I'm just surprised Radiant Dawn wasn't even mentioned.....
This news is no real biggie for a racing game like this. But for games like Monster Hunter Ultimate and team oriented games they totally should implement voice chat! I think an interesting use for voice chat in a racing game would be to have players within so many meters of you in game only listen to what you're saying as if you were right beside them on the road in real life. Everyone else somewhat near by would hear it distorted or at a distance barely.
From my personal experience I found every year with a wii a good year with numerous hidden gems along side the AAA Titles. Trauma Team/2nd opinion, Mercury Meltdown Revolution, Epic Mickey, Rayman Origins, Sin & Punishment 2, Wario Land Shake it, Little King Story, Lost in Shadows, Wario Smooth Moves, NBA Jam, and the list goes on.
Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn was another amazing AAA title that wasn't mention here... I also found Conduit 2 much better then the first and overall a excellent game. Mainly for it's creative unique weapons, fluid spot on customizable controls of course, and for it's competitive online modes. There are a number of more great wii titles that I haven't even touched for me to count... I'll still be playing allot of wii games for a very good while into the Wii U's life span.
For many the wii was and still is at the moment, the most innovative console of the past generation in terms of quality games over quantity sequels and unique immersion gaming experience. Wii kept the gaming industry very fresh.

Looks very simple yet very fun!
Re: Take A Look At The Gatorade-Infused Exclusive Features Of Wii U NBA 2K13
Really creative concept for sports games. These features look like they can be very useful if one forgets their strategies and stats.

Looks fine so far, I'm sure they'll keep updating, and as usual a clean look.
Re: Fallblox Crashes Into Europe on 15th November
This one and Fluidity spin cycle are on the top of my list for upcoming eshop titles.
