"Guys, calm down, how do you know it's going to be Sticker Star 3? Have you even played it?" Oh, look at that, it came out, and it's Sticker Star 3. Color Splash me surprised. "Nintendo fans just want the same thing over and over, try something new!" And yet, they've made three of these papercraft abominations now. They officially outnumber the good Paper Mario games. I really just don't understand how they keep doing this. Is the new style just that much more popular? Are the people clamoring for a true sequel to 64/TTYD just a vocal minority? Do they just sell better, so Nintendo keeps making them like this? I just don't know anymore. I urge any original Paper Mario fans disillusioned by this review to check out Bug Fables instead.
Grass Chimchar and Discount Mudkip are neat, but Scorbunny is probably the most unique of the three. I personally love all of them, though. Gonna be making picking a starter difficult this time around...assuming I even get the game, SM/USUM had some neat ideas/characters but were terribly bland IMO, though Pokémon has been samey to me since after Emerald, so I'm not the best person to ask.
I can definitely vouch for the first two Syberia games, having played them on PC ages ago. Heard 3 wasn't that good, but I haven't played it myself, so... yeah.
What I'm confused about is why they're deciding to axe the Wii U version instead of the Vita version. I mean, I love my Vita, but barely anyone else does. Not that I'm complaining about the Switch version, but damn, IGA, you might've goofed hard on this one.
I'm honestly kind of disappointed in this. Which is a shame, because I've wanted something like this from Nintendo for a while.
First off, it's 60 dollars. The others, notably the Genesis one, only retailed at 50 (I believe. It's been a while since I've seen one in stores.), and you can get them even cheaper at places like Dollar General when bigger chains don't sell them quickly enough. It only comes with one controller. This isn't a huge issue, as a second is sold pretty cheaply and you don't really need it, but the others did come with two. You can not use actual Nintendo carts with it. This is a huge issue for me, as most of the NES's good games were third party. Now, granted, it does come with a few third party games built in, but if you want to play any of the other Mega Mans, Castlevania 3, or the Dragon Warrior series on this thing, you're out of luck. There's no actual power supply shipped with the console. It is 2016. What? Though the article claims that's only for the European version, but it's still incredibly stupid. Finally, there's only 30 games. Going back to the SEGA retro console, it came with a whopping EIGHTY. Nintendo is once again showing that they have no idea how to price anything, and/or only care about profit from half-assing something. It's the Virtual Console, but not Virtual. Also, this is more subjective, but it's based on the ugly VCR box, not the original Famicom or the toploading NES model 2. But that's just me... probably.
I'll still probably end up getting it at some point, since I'm a complete Nintendrone and can't control myself, but I will definitely be waiting for a sale or a price drop. If there's one positive to this, there's a decent chance that it'll be running on much better official software/hardware, not an emulator, like the others. But I'm not holding my breath.
Pop culture references can be done well, and NoA has an audience to think about, but... really? Couldn't have picked a breed of cancer that isn't 5 years old at this point? Do kids even know what doge is anymore? I mean, it isn't a huge deal, the rest of the localization isn't nearly as obnoxious and can be funny sometimes, and hell, this much butthurt over one dumb line borders on the insane, but I also just feel this is mindless pandering for no one. At least this game's rated lower than, say, Fire Emblem and Fatal Frame, games that didn't need to be censored, but that's a whole other can of worms.
Yeah, I don't think 7 bucks trade-in is a good reason to get rid of my physical copy of Pandora's Tower. That's cool for people who haven't played it before, though. I know I did the same thing for the first three Wii games that were released on the US eShop.
I am curious about Wind-Up Knight and Brave Tank Hero, though. The former reminds me about an old Sega Saturn game I've wanted to play for a while, and I'm always a fan of tank games... too bad I have SO MUCH TO PLAY on 3DS. I keep buying games for it even though I know the only thing I'm gonna play is Monster Hunter.
That's a real shame. I was hoping for something goofy and over-the-top on Wii U like Devil May Cry or God Hand, but it ended up falling into mediocrity. Oh well, I might still pick this up under the Monkey Island rule.

Re: Unofficial Metroid Prequel Uses The Original NES Hardware To Impressive Effect
A hack of Super Metroid that triples its size, a remake of Metroid 2 that adds loads of new features and uses Zero Mission's assets, and now THIS?
Guys, please, you'll kill me.
