Re: Transformers: War for Cybertron Deemed Too Aggressive for Wii

JakobG

@Shadx: The Wii is the most casual and popular console there is, and a big fragment of the mass are families with toddlers.
If you make a game you can expect to fail, you should produce it on a platform with A) a lot of owners and B) unexperienced owners.
That's why recent Sonic games are so successful yet bad.
For a kid: Popular videogame character + Any popular topic = Instant wish.

Re: Nintendo Insists That Apple's iPad Isn't a Threat

JakobG

Of course Reggie says he doesn't see the iPad as a threat, it's advertising.
Yet I find it ignorant to call the iPad a weak gaming device; it may does not feature cartridges or such, but there are some large games available at the App Store, such as Street Fighter 4.
Also, the DSi is also supposed to handle utilities, an area which clearly rules the iPad.
At last, the iPad's hardware is superior to the DSi in every aspect.

Oh, and the iPad wins at Virtual Console as well.

Re: Fishie Fishie

If it's on-button, couldn't they make it up to 8 player?
I mean, plugging in a nunchuck to not use the wiimote makes hardly sense to me.

Re: New Metroid: Other M Gameplay Trailer

JakobG

@5: Hey, that was in the 90.
Don't blame her.

The gameplay looks epic, but why the safety jacket?
Are you to throw away the controller in frustration or waggling like crazy again?
They didn't even wear one in Megaman or Dr. Mario.

Re: Review: Red Steel 2 (Wii)

JakobG

I was awaiting this for a long time, and sadly, missed the cool pre-order because I couldn't find it anywhere.
I was too hoping for a 9/10, but I still will definitely get this.

Re: Sony: 3D Handheld Gaming Might Not Work

JakobG

Says Mr. Horrible Portable Successor.

Sure, all this 3D relates to the Virtual Boy, but making yet another pair of giant goggles that cause headaches wouldn't make any sense.
Personally, I don't really need 3D effects, but if it works properly, it'll surely be nice with headtracking and motion capturing.

Re: Robox

JakobG

Eh, I am a bit suspicious.
I can't see anything special on the screenshots.

Re: And Yet It Moves

JakobG

@11: They're the developers.
I've met them yesterday, and they're certainly not homeless.
Rather indie.

Also, the gameplay has changed.
You have now 360°-control of the gravity.

Re: Upcoming Media Summit Promises Surprises, Hype

JakobG

It definitely won't be a game.
You have to think about marketing strategy; it contradicts too much.
If you hype something too much up, people will start making up a fictional product and compare the actual one to the one that's made up.
Also, we already get 3 Nintendo games, so that could decrease the sales.
Like I said, I can't think of anything that would fit.

Re: Upcoming Media Summit Promises Surprises, Hype

JakobG

Let's see...
New game? No, we already get 3 new Nintendo-games this year.
Wii 2? No, too early, and HD isn't for the casual market.
New DS? Too early either, plus it would confront with the DSi XXL.
I have no idea what they could release.

Re: Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars

JakobG

Bought the game 2 days ago, and it's awesome.
The only problem is that I hate Manga and Anime to death, and it looks like Capcom tried to bash in as much Anime as possible too.
I mean, Megaman Vollnut?
What were they thinking?
