Nitro on Wii was fun, so I was actually thinking about buying the DS version of it. But if this comes along and is an updated version of that game, that would both save me some money and give me a better game. Sounds good. Also, hope it will have Single-Cart multiplayer.
Want! Playing Samurai Warriors 3 has made me want this game even more. It's similar, but seems better in all ways. And SW3 was a good game to begin with.
@Prosody: Thanks for the extra info! I guessed there wasn't that much more to know, or you would have mentioned it. But asking never hurts. Good to hear the graphics are smooth though. Then whatever problem the first trailer had is gone now.
@Prosody: There were two things mainly that I was wondering about.
First, how long did the game seem to be? Two missions are mentioned, but do you know how many there are in total? And is there any extras included? (House of the Dead: Overkill had a "Director's Cut" mode, for example.)
And second, I was interested in hearing something about the graphics. They look very nice on the pictures, but I remember one of the trailers (probably the first one) feeling a bit choppy. That has probably been fixed by now, but how did the graphics seem to work? Does it look and play as nice as it seems to do?
Sorry, but I'm very sceptical. I really doubt it would be true to the original since western rpg's pretty much always have other priorities and focus. For some reason I love J-RPG's but have never managed to really like the more free and open western counterparts. The open-ness pretty much always come at the sacrifice of story, personality, variation and design. That is not always the case of course, but I still prefer the more japanese style of rpg's and I think Chrono Trigger should stay like that.
Slightly off-topic, but there was a really nice looking 3D-remake of the original Chrono Trigger in development by some fans, but sadly Square-Enix shut it down. The trailer might still be on the net though. If you've seen it, THAT is how I would like a Chrono Trigger sequel/remake to look and feel.
Some more info would have been nice, but I'll guess I just have to wait for the review. Good to hear it will be released soon. Hopefully that includes Europe as well.
This came out of nowhere and looks quite nice! I usually don't like non-racing sports games (Wii Sports/Resorts excluded), but with some added action and fighting, like Mario Strikers, it can certainly be great fun to play with friends. So I'll keep my eyes on this.
Yeah, finally I can get Pearl Harbor Trilogy - 1941: Red Sun Rising, all the info and nice screens/videos has convinced me since long. Might get Soul of Darkness as well, the review convinced me there.
OMG! This game seems like it was made just for me! Looks like it has everything I like in RPG's and it looks extremely well made too. With this, Xenoblade, Arc Rise, DQX, MH3, etc I'll almost have more Wii RPG's than I have time to play. And then there is all the DS and 3DS ones. So happy!
B.t.w. does anyone know if there is a higher quality trailer somewhere? I downloaded it from gametrailers.com, but one with better quality would be nice.
I finally played this, and I am really enjoying it! It's both fun and impressive in so many ways a small comment won't cover it all. I haven't noticed any bugs or camera problems at all, so this far everything seems perfect except for that it might be a bit too easy. We'll see about that once I have finished all though. Seems it gets harder later on.
I think it should have gotten 9/10. (Or perhaps even 10/10 considering Bit Trip Runner got that, and that game also had a few minor faults, like unevenly balanced difficulty.)
Anyway, I can't wait to see more from Shin'en. I really hope this sells well.
Finally saw the video. It looks like it could be really fun, but the graphics does certainly need some work. Like textures for the characters, which seems like a basic requirement. It's probably from an early version however, so it will most likely be fixed.
Interesting! I played this game on my phone, but this type of action-based gameplay really didn't work very well there, not to mention the graphics were sluggish and the loading times way too long. But it seems the DSi version turned out rather excellent. If it has more levels and variation that the mobile version, I'll get this for sure. Can't get enough of Castlevania, clone or not.
Really hyped about this one! I think I might have played the original GoldenEye a bit too much... but I'll gladly return in an upgraded and enhanced Wii version. And more epic scenes can't be bad, right?
I wasn't sure what to think about this for a long time. I would rather have seen the Gladiator A.D. game they showed at last years E3 but this does look quite nice. I did actually order it, not thinking I would get a new Soul Calibur but instead seeing it as a fun game to play with friends where the cheesy characters and dialogue might actually make it all more fun. As long as there is a working core mechanic that is decently fun to play, I doubt I'll be dissapointed, and according to this review that seems to be the case.
Oh, this will be nice! I used to play it on my Dreamcast and it was really fun, although very frustrating at times. Hopefully they will fix a few things like adjust and balance the difficulty.
The game sounds quite fun, but for some reason I would have liked to have multiplayer included. It sounds like a game where that would have worked well; each player having a few jewels and can throw units towards enemies jewels, and so on.
E3 overload! So much awesome has happened this E3 I want to write a comment praising every one of the things. But that would take quite some time, so I'll let it be. Still, the amazing 3DS with it's almost legendary game lineup is certainly the best part. We did know about it, but I don't think I had actually reflected on how cool the 3D effect and it's other features are. Now I can't wait to try it out. Seriously, I will be counting the days until it's release...
I ordered this game, but haven't received it yet. Few retailers seem to have it around here, which is strange. I liked the sound of it: beat-em-up with some tactics, loads of enemies on the screen at once and two player co-op in the whole game. And this review assured me the game is what I think it is, so I'm really looking forward to it now.
Screenshots like really nice! Perhaps they have finally put together the good parts from the previous games (Secret Rings, Black Knight) and removed all the bad to create something excellent. As a long time Sonic fan, I won't give up hope yet.
Everythings on facebook these days it seems... Guess I can't vote then. I would have voted for Bunker, Infirmary or Complex. A bit to much streets indeed, though it is a good map.
Want this soo much... It's like FFXII but seemingly better in all ways. And with Monolith Soft behind it, it really can't be bad in my book. The Xenosaga and Baten Kaitos-series are still on my top ten list of the best RPG's ever.
Really great game this one! Certainly deserves the score. For some reason I enjoyed it much more than the previous games in the series. Makes me wonder what fantastic games will be next from Gaijin.
Nice! Looks like this will be a good release optimized for DS instead of a mobile phone java port. Still not sure about the necessity of these photo-features though. But as long as they don't impair gameplay I have nothing against it. Wish Gameloft would port/make some more games for Wiiware however. NOVA with Wii Remote aiming could be great!
This should be great! I like arcade-like racers and I have played various versions of Destruction Derby a bit too much so more on that theme should be nice. Seems this studio also developed Glacier 2 / 3. I wanted to try them, but it seems Glacier 2 has only been released in the US yet and Glacier 3 is still in development.
I had a program that did this on my Symbian-phone a few years ago. Used my Wii remote to play a racing game among other things. Fun stuff. I also tried using a Wii remote to control one of my own games on my computer. That program simply rerouted input from the Wii remote to keys on the keyboard however, so it was not a fancy library/sdk like this seems to be.
Just realised WiFi wouldn't really be necessary. You could simply plug all your DS'es into the same mixer or simply attach speakers to each of them. A download mode so those who don't have a DSi could use the program temporary would be neat however.
I guess "chord recognition" means you can play entire chords by simply holding down one button, which means it should work decently even without multitouch. At least for simpler accompaniment. If it's cheap I might get this. If it works together with the other planned instruments via WiFi I will get it for sure. Imagine an entire band of DS players.
Insta-buy on this one. Really liked Punch Out and the addition of WM+ support and tech-tree upgrades make this sound really enjoyable. Can't enter the competition though, Twitter is really not my thing.
This sounds very interesting. If they add WM+ controls (simply for the fun of controlling your ship by tilting) and upgrade the graphics a bit I will indeed be interested in getting it. I liked the original, even though it was rather confusing at times. (Hence the need of upgraded graphics.)
I really liked The Conduit, a good game. But Conduit 2 sounds like a dream come true, far above the first one. If it becomes as good as it sounds, this will be the new Perfect Dark! (That is, the number one FPS-game to play with friends).
Just remembered that Ghost Squad had four player co-op. A bit crazy, but still fun. That would be nice to have in this game as well. Though I am still happy with only two players.
Looks impressive! While I had prefered a game where I could walk around myself, I don't have anything against rail-shooters. Co-Op support is good to have too, and the textures indeed do look nice. I have my hopes up!
@Manfred: I guessed so. But no need to be sorry, it really is no problem. Better do multiplayer for some future game where it is better suited. Perhaps in that racing-style game mentioned in an interview somewhere?
Oh yeah! So much good news today! Really liked the original and the sequel seems to have all the things the original was missing. This will be fantastic! Especially multiplayer spltscreen co-op! More Wii-games need that.
Indeed, 2 players make this sound even more interesting. Perhaps you can race a friend in the snowboard and jetski-parts? My dream would be a 2 player, splitscreen, co-op mode. But I guess that would be really hard to pull of considering how the game pushes the tech already. I won't complain if it is single-player only however. It does enough cool stuff already.
I am still just as amazed by how good this game looks. Truly fantastic code and art. The first screenshot in the gallery not only has loads of nice texture effects and details; the small island in the far-back is just as detailed!
@Manfred: Crazy stuff, those numbers. Extremely impressive! I guess you create some textures "on the fly" using different algorithms and put them together directly with some fancy render tricks? Either way, I can't wait to see this game in motion. Really looking forward to that trailer!
I also wonder about the multiplayer part. Would be cool if it was like in the GameCube version, where each player had their own screen. (Which I guess could work since the DS games are quite small screen-wise).
I have a feeling many were cautious buying/pre-ordering this game before seeing the reviews because of how the first one did. After a week or so, when people have read the positive reviews and realized this is not another Red Steel 1, I think the sales will increase.
I have played this game all day and have really enjoyed it. I'd probably give it 9/10. It could have had a bit more variation and multiplayer would have been awesome. But it certainly delivers on what it set out to do; a great sword-based battle system mixed with guns. Also, the art style is nice. I love the slightly cell-shaded look. Very smooth and neat, even on huge TV's.
