It's pretty obvious that Nintendo learned from their mistakes with the Wii U. They had so poorly marketed the Wii U to the point where many thought it was an add-on to the Wii and not it's own console.
Compare that to the marketing of the Switch which has been excellent at communicating what the Switch is. The moment I saw the reveal trailer, I had a feeling Nintendo learned from their past mistakes and it would be more successful than it's predecessor.
Well I don't mind ports, in fact I think it's neat that you can take Doom and Bayonetta 1&2 on the go. That novelty of taking any console game anywhere is a real nice selling point.
For example I felt the same way about the PS Vita. The fact that I could play PS2 collections like Sly Cooper, Jak & Daxter and God ofWar as well as almost all PS1 classics anywhere really sold me on it.
Sure I already own most of these games but having them on the go makes it worth rebuying them.
I don't think I've seen Square this interested in a Nintendo system since the GBA. It goes to show that Nintendo did a damn good job of attracting 3rd parties to the Switch.

Re: Indie Smash Undertale Is Coming To Switch "Eventually"
Ugh no, just no. I hate the Steam version, so no way in hell am I getting it for Switch.
Re: Super Smash Bros. For Switch Is Coming This Year, And It's Got Inklings
At first I thought this was a trailer for the original Splatoon on Switch, then it got dark I had a feeling it was Smash.
Re: This Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Linkle Mod Isn't Official, But It Really Should Be
I'd pass on this. I like Linkle but only as a side character.
Re: Sounds Like Blizzard Really Is Porting Diablo 3 To Switch (Even Though It Said It Wasn't)
Until it's officially confirmed, take this with a grain of salt.
Re: Soapbox: Nintendo Switch Learned A Lot From Wii U’s Struggles During Its Own First Year
@electrolite77 " The Wii U is hands down their worst home System."
Two words: Virtual Boy

Re: Video: Gekido Kintaro's Revenge Will Roundhouse Kick Switch This March
Never heard of the game but it looks good. So I'll keep an eye out for this one.
Re: And Just Like That, Customer Reviews On The Nintendo Site Are No More
My guess is that it was a testfire. I expect it will come back within the year.
Re: The Internet Is Pouring Some Serious Salt On That PC Port Of Chrono Trigger
Not surprised, Square pulled the same crap with the PC ports of FF IV, V & VI.
Re: You Can Now Leave User Reviews On Nintendo's Official Website
@Galenmereth Not according to their site. Steam doesn't require you to purchase a game in order to review it.
http://store.steampowered.com/reviews/
Re: You Can Now Leave User Reviews On Nintendo's Official Website
Glad they require you to have played the game to write a review. Not even Steam does that.
Re: Hackers Are On A Mission To Port More Doom To Switch
You can never have too many Doom ports.
I only have one request for modders, they must add the SNES soundtrack.
Re: Nintendo Switch Sold The Most Consoles In the US This Past January
I'm convinced it'll keep up this pace. Last weekend when I picked up my Switch, I wasn't the only person there to buy one.

I'd love to see them working with Square on bringing FFXV to the Switch.
Re: Spanish Retailer Lists Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy for Switch, Fuels Rumours
I rented the PS4 version and loved it. So if it does come to the Switch then I'm getting it.
Re: Nintendo Changes Requirements For Its Controversial YouTube Creators Program
Well this sucks but so does YouTube's new partner requirements.

Nice! This will be a nice addition to the Zelda and Sonic reference guides.
Re: The Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 & 2 Are Headed To Switch On 22nd May
I'm happy to see this coming to the Switch however it sucks that it won't come on one cart.

Re: Rumour: Spyro Trilogy Coming To Multiple Formats Next Year After PS4 Exclusivity Ends
I'm hoping this is true. The Crash remasters were excellent, so I'm all for Spyro getting the same treatment.
Re: Lots Of Developers At Square Enix Want To Make Games For Switch, Says President And CEO
I don't think I've seen Square this interested in a Nintendo system since the GBA. It goes to show that Nintendo did a damn good job of attracting 3rd parties to the Switch.
Re: Miyamoto Explains Why Illumination Was Chosen For The Upcoming Mario Movie
Knowing Miyamoto is involved has given me some faith but I hope this doesn't end up like their other films.
The last thing we want are Toads acting like minions.
Re: Nvidia Shares Swell As Nintendo Switch Continues To Sell Like Hot Cakes
Well their jump in profits and shares could also be a mix of Switch sales and bitcoin miners.
Re: Sounds Like Bandai Namco Really Is Working on Metroid Prime 4
Sorry but this is not a confirmation. Bandai Namco hasn't said anything and it's coming from unkown sources. So until BN says so, this is all bs.
Re: Atari Has Reached the Minimum Goal for RollerCoaster Tycoon on Switch
RTC 1,2&3 would be cool on the Switch but I'd rather have Planet Coaster on there.
