@gabrigoes it’s exhausting but that’s the Nintendo life comment section for you. If it’s not complaining about rogue likes it’s game key cards. 😂 The demo of forestrike was great and I recommend it for anyone on the fence about it.
I finally started octopath traveler 2 after buying it earlier this year. Started with Throne because the rogue archetype only favorite. I’m currently trying to get everyone’s chapter 1 finished. I still have to get three of the travelers. The first game was one of my favorites. This is more of the same and a little bit better. I was skeptical of the day/night cycle but the different path actions are thematically appropriate and make for some interesting tactical choices. Love it and looking forward to many, many, many hours of it.
@blecch I haven’t tried that yet but maybe I’ll Give it a go today. I have way too many joycons so have a dedicated switch 2 pair wouldn’t be the worst idea. 🤣
Most everything I have works as well or better than the original. I kept my OLED because I still use Ring Fit on the daily and there are a couple of games that need fixes still. I haven't noticed any upscaling problems and if I do, I've got the original to fall back on. I've been pleasantly surprised how good the NSO titles look. I've played a lot of them over the last few weeks and they look great.
It's Darkest Dungeon II for me, followed closely by NES World Championships. They couldn't be more different! I played countless hours of the original Darkest Dungeon and it put Red Hook studious into my "try everything they make" group of developers.
NES World Championships is just crazy enough to work. I might not get any first place in the challenges, but I'm going to have a ton of fun trying.
@dr-gorgo What are you talking about? I've used it many times and been rescued within a day the vast majority of them. The rescue system is a staple of the series. It's not, and shouldn't be, going anywhere.
I'm going to join in the praise for the Missing. Swery65's games aren't for everyone but he's a mad genius who creates unique, unforgettable art. I'll freely admit my bias here, as Deadly Premonition remains one of my top ten of all time, but it's undeniable that no one is doing what he does. Try to go in without knowing too much about the story or the characters. The reveals are so much more powerful if you don't know they're coming.
@DudeshootMankill Complaints about price baffle me. It's incredibly polished and thoughtfully designed. The systems work together in fascinating ways, giving you many clever ways to solve the problems you face. There are over twenty unique dungeons, each having some creative twist on the basic ruleset that gives you almost an entirely new way to play the game. There are potentially hundreds of hours of play here. It's every bit as deserving of $60 as any AAA game.
Shiren games are pretty much a day one purchase for me. Rogue was the first game I ever played, rogue-likes are my favorite genre, and Shiren is almost a perfect example of what makes them great. I put a tremendous number of hours into Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate, and I expect to do the same when Serpentcoil Island arrives.
I genuinely do not understand the vitriol that comes for the NSO subscription in the comments. It's $50 a year, less than $5 a month. You get access to some of Nintendo's best games from the 20th century as well as some genuine classics from the Sega Genesis library. New titles may not come as quickly and thickly as you want, but there are dozens of quality games on the service already for less than the price of one modern AAA game. What more do people expect for the price?
This is a great story. I just got Audie as my last village resident, and had no idea that she was based on this delightful woman. It gives me extra good feelings about her.

@Antraxx777 You can store items in warehouses along the way, and there are ways to send items back to the beginning village during a run.
