Re: Super Smash Bros. Melee and Wii U Confirmed for Evo 2015

Groosenator

For everyone saying that everyone who plays Melee plays Fox, I have to issue a correction. The top eight at the last major Melee tournament went...

1. Hungrybox (Jigglypuff)
2. Mew2King (Marth)
3. Leffen (Fox)
4. Westballz (Falco)
5. Armada (Peach) and Plup (Samus)
7. Axe (Pikachu) and Shroomed (Sheik)

One Fox main in the top eight. All eight of them main a different character. That's roster diversity right there.

Personally, I'm kind of sad with how the major Smash tournaments tend to be scheduled. Apex, the big tournament near me, is right in the middle of the school year, and I can't skip classes. Evo is nowhere near me but it's in the summer when I would be able to go. I'd definitely want to enter both Smash games present.

To tell the truth, I'm not sure why everyone is losing their heads over this. I'm not exactly a fan of GameStop (I only shop through them when someone gives me a giftcard or they have an exclusive), but I don't fault them for anything here. Seemed like it was all good fun to me.

Oh, and it was KDJ all along? Cool, I'm a fan of his. He may not be considered one of the elite anymore, but he's still got it!

Re: Rumour: Shipments of Pokémon X & Y Delayed to U.S. Military Commissaries

@kamifox1 When my best friend's cousin went off with the military some time ago, he took his Gameboy with him. We all pitched in a game or two for him to play... but he spent most of his time playing Pokemon.

Just a few years back, I made trades left and right over the GTS with people in Afghanistan. I do doubt it... but I can't help but wonder if any of those I traded with were soldiers.

Did anyone actually, y'know, play the game before commenting? While I'm still against this (mostly because it's inappropriate for the target audience), I have to give them props... it was well made and the writing was excellent.

They even made a "top percentage" joke... you can tell that they actually like Pokemon, but just want to point out the potential downsides of it.

Re: Peach Finally Confirmed For Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS

@Kirk
I'm very interested in the changes that the game will bring. Most importantly, every newcomer is adding hours of content for me---I experiment with every character on the roster quite extensively. I'm especially happy about Mega Man and Villager: I wanted both of them and they seem to play exactly like I dreamed they would. It'll take me quite a while to learn their ways.

I'll admit that the game hasn't sold me a Wii U... yet. What is revealed has made me want the game, but it hasn't blown my mind enough to make me buy a console to play it. Still, I'm definitely picking up the 3DS version; Smash Bros. in portable form (hopefully with online play that lacks horrible lag) on a console I already own is a no-brainer.

Re: Atari Founder Nolan Bushnell Claims Nintendo "Could Be On The Path To Irrelevance"

You know what I think would be interesting? A Nintendo Phone. Design it primarily as a games console, but include the tech for talking and texting in it as well. It could have the standard circle pad, touch controls, four face buttons and two shoulder buttons present on a handheld Nintendo device, but it could be shaped more like a phone (and only one screen).

It would be a very interesting experiment, to say the least; I believe a good portion of iPhone and Android owners would flock to it for the improved gaming opportunities.

Granted, such a move will never happen because Nintendo is Nintendo. This may be a good thing, though; such a move would change the gaming market forever. Who can say if it would be in a good way?

Re: Eiji Aonuma Advises Adventurers to Hoard Rupees in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

Groosenator

@FiveDigitLP I wouldn't say that Rupees were too scarce in SS. Granted, I am a miser and hoarded the majority of what I got, but I don't ever remember having a shortage of Rupees.

One thing I have to mention when discussing Rupees in SS, though, is wallet upgrades. I loved how they were easy and straightforward to obtain. It may have been the first Zelda game...ever... where I didn't have a full wallet at some point.

I do agree with you: it was an excellent game. Still, I didn't see the Game-Over screen in my initial play-through... though now I seem to die whenever I challenge the final boss again.
