Unfortunately no, but for a second I thought they were dropping GameCube games onto switch online, with Metroid prime as the opener! A man must dream…😭
Well, nothing for me this time, but eh, win some lose some. The one bit that confused me was I swear I saw the Metroid/Samus logo when goldeneye was announced! Must have been a mirage of some sort…
Also, if you own Rare Replay digitally on Xbox, you’ll get Goldeneye free of charge! Thanks Rare/Microsoft! That’s practically unheard of these days to be so unnecessarily consumer friendly; I would have gladly paid for the download anyway!
Would be super hyped to see some F-Zero love, be it a remaster or a new entry. My longshot dream though would be a new Wario Land game, as a couple others have mentioned. Never understood why he was relegated to mascot of a mini game series. Bring him back just once to his 2D platforming roots you cowards!
I’m still super salty about the fact that Chrono Trigger was left out on the SNES mini. Then, as a further insult, it was passed by in favor of its inferior sequel for switch. Would be awesome if Square released a compilation of some sort, though unlikely given their recent direction…
I also don’t think Microsoft needs to defend themselves here. If Sony had the money, or Nintendo for that matter, they would do the same thing without hesitation. My personal biggest fear with gaming going forward is the preservation of older titles, and Microsoft seems to be the only company acknowledging it, and doing something about it. I can play OG Xbox games on my series X, with better performance. Compared to Switch Online N64 games, there is a huge chasm in quality. And as far as Microsoft’s greed, can we all really say that with a straight face as Nintendo fans? I’ve been a Nintendo guy for the last 35 years, and love them despite their absurdly stingy business practices, but let’s not pretend that Nintendo is the white knight of the industry here. They are all businesses. I guess I just don’t see Microsoft as the villain that many are making them out to be, and I don’t think this is the endgame scenario that many are touting. But to each their own!
Interested to hear how this plays. Really enjoyed the world tour mode, but found myself a bit frustrated by the “bumper cars” from the more narrow tracks. Looks like this expansion has a lot more road to spread out on, so I might jump on this!
I just really wished they would give us the option to buy individual N64 games. I’d pay 10 bucks a pop, and wouldn’t have a bunch of other games that I’ll never touch. I also don’t play online (gasp!) Why can’t they give us choice here? It wouldn’t hurt their bottom line, because as of right now, I’m not interested, and they could only stand to gain my money if they ever offer that option. I’ve never been interested in Animal Crossing either, so there’s no value there for me. Just bummed to see N64 relegated to games as a service. Maybe I’m just too old now lol. But there is nothing wrong with giving consumers choice, like they did back in the Wii U days with classic systems and VC options, not to mention the ability to transfer over games from the Wii era and upgrade certain games with more features for a nominal fee. Nintendo is always stingy when they’re on top of the world. I don’t say any of this out of hate either. I’m a diehard Nintendo fan since 1990, and they’ll always be my favorite game company. Just wish they gave us more choice and everything wasn’t based around online.
Yes Nintendo themselves billed Metroid Prime as a First Person Adventure, but I’m just not convinced an open world concept would work for Metroid, nor do I think it would be necessary to begin with. I’m fine if they keep the same formula as the prime games tbh.
Yep, super psyched for this now that I know there’s plenty of tracks! I’m all about the over the top feel of the cruis’n games, so take my money, graphics be damned!
Loved finally seeing a release date for Elden Ring, and it pretty much looks like Dark Souls 4 which I have absolutely zero problem with! But overall I’d say a 7 sounds fair, maybe a 6.
Not to be that guy, but everyone should be cautious with Zavvi. I bought a huge Lego set from them months ago and they delivered it to the wrong address. I had to contact their shipping partner several times and even though they admitted fault, Zavvi would not refund me. Even PayPal denied my case at first because they trusted Zavvi’s tracking which showed the lego was delivered (just not to me😂). Finally, I had the shipper send a letter to PayPal explaining the situation and their mistake but only after weeks of phone calls and emails. The shipper had been in contact with Zavvi as well, and they knew I didn’t receive my order. I only just a few days ago finally got my refund when PayPal reversed their decision. I know I’m probably the rare case here, but just some food for thought!
Huge fan of Cruis’n World on the N64, so definitely excited for this! But that had 15 tracks which makes the 5 on offer here just a bit of a downer 😔. Hoping for some unlockables or a bargain bin price!
Really hoping for some Zelda 35th news, would love Ocarina on my Switch so I can play it for the umpteenth time! Also, F-Zero. It doesn’t need to be a new game; just remake X or GX!! And maybe something out of left field, give us a new Warioland and I will lose my mind! Oh to dream....sigh
Hi everybody! First post here, I’ve lurked since 2014 😳 No idea why it’s taken me so long. I’m with the others here that see this as a worrying trend. The PAL gamers shouldn’t have to track down foreign copies of games when it could have been done without much effort. But as others have said, probably a bottom line issue. Just wish our Ninty wouldn’t be so anti-consumer sometimes. And why some would want physical media dead altogether boggles my mind. We’ll no longer own any of these games. And the companies will still charge 60+ for games they don’t even have to manufacture anymore. That makes me sad.
