@rdrunner1178 yes I agree, even if it was a plain port with future free updates like splatoon lt would sell A LOT, but you know porting games isnt an easy task if you consider system architectures, and I believe the 3ds and Wii U arent that similar, specially when u didnt consider that from the beginning of development. The NX is comming to address those issues from what we have heard...
@Peach64 I agree with you, but I also believe they knew that from the start, its just a game to fill up the space, they knew from the beginning star fox would be delayed, what they showed on E3 was an alpha of the game. They needed something to fill the gap, you can see its a budget game, if you take the animal crossing characters out and the amiibo, the plain virtual board game it would cost 15 dollars max.. in 2 month it would be on sale for like 6 plus free shipping, thats much how the game is worth in my opinion if it wasnt for the amiibo and the animal crossing franchise...
@Dr_Corndog Hahaha funny but still has nothing to do with the games theme, thats what bothers me, the spanish localisation team sucks for all nintendo games, not just this one...
Im from Uruguay, had my system in spanish but spanish names suck really bad, Callie and Marie are Mar and Tina (mar =Sea in spanish and Tina= ??) pun totally lost and the same goes for map names and gear/weapons, but this one is so epic that Im switching to English hehehe
Also, how many here really want a EA game on the Wii U? or we all really want them so more people would buy the Wii U so we could get better games on it (but not from EA)? Thats where I stand, so I would be someone who would buy their games just if they are like 10 Us dollars or somehting to display it on my shelf..would never pay full price for a multi plat on the wii U.
@IAmDeclanJay Your view is from the consumer points of view. Not from a company that only thinks in profits, thats what keeps their boat floating, as with every company regardless what product or service they sell. Even if 10 millions console sold mean 10 million potential buyers, the true rate of potential buyers for an EA game would be something like 6 or 7% considering what kind of games they make and what nintendo public wants, so if you take that in mind, plus the costs of developing and also considering that a game developer like EA has a limited amout of developers (if you have one of your teams creating a Wii U game you, its a team less to make a PS4/XBONE game) its easy to see why them nor any other 3rd party big publisher is supporting the wii U... sad but true..
People are thinking about themselves and thats fine, I also dont care about madden or fifa. But we have to think about the somewhat casual gamer, and the impact they have on buying games for the system. We want the NX to be successful as that means better support from Nintendo, bigger Nintendo franchises on the system, and even the not so big like Kid Icarus, etc. It wont be successful only with the Nintendo fan base, the Wii U proved that, thats why Nintendo is giving up on the system. WE must understand that, that 3rd parties are important for the system even If we ( people who daily read this site aka Nintendo fans) dont care about those games, as the system can only be a success with them on board.
Probably download only? Sorry I´ve had enough with fatal frame, won´t pay full price for a downloadable game then get a har drive which here is another two full retail price games, so I will probably skip it... Its probably zelda and giant robot, I´ve already zelda (not remastered of course) and giant robot didnt call my attention so...
@Spideron Thats exactly what I think, but you know, take the speed out of Sonic is like taking half of it, it stops being Sonic... thats why they have been struggling all these years with Sonic games, and thats why Sonic Racing games have worked.. they have the speed element.. funny tho, its the car speed, not Sonic's..
@zool Exactly, and thats the thing right there, look at the basics from each game they got their fame from and became mascots. Mario, is a normal person, he gets his powers from power ups, and that gives u plenty of room to make him do whatever a person can do, play tennis, golf, race karts, and if its something a normal person cant do he will probably get a power up and do it, so endless posibilities.. on the other hand Sonic is a fast hedgehog, it works on 2D because the fast movement can easily be handled, and on 3D its a mess, as they have proved over the years even on more confined spaces like in sonic lost world. but if you take the fast out of sonic its not sonic anymore, so they dont have much posibilities there.. thats why they are desperatly trying to redesign him, looking for a sonic that appeals to audiences... I think they will keep doing that, until they make something acceptable.. and that will be a starting point for sonic...
@manu0 That was exactly what I was thinking but theres a point in htis concept. In Japan, mobility is everything, what if they took this "cross platform play" concept to the max, what if you could play the game at home with both screens and then when you are off to work you could continue playing on the mobile device, of course with less functionalities, the gameplay would be different but it would be a mix of all the concepts they have. Thats what the dreamcast vmu aimed at, a couple of sony early handhelds. And I dont know If you knew, but the motion technology on the wii remotes were first used, early versions of it of course on a wario game for the gameboy advance. Nintendo is constantly rewroknig their concepts, and people forget about the use of the 3ds as a smash controller for the wii u version, thats a key.. they use games as a way of beta testing the concepts they will use next, if we want to speculate, that would be a good start, understand history to better understand the future...
What I still dont understand is for how long people will accept buying a digital version (same price than retail) for a console where u then have to pay extra for the storage, a dlc pack like this with 2 dollars of saving is like laughing in your face.. its sad, its sad that this is the direction the instrustry is taking..
I think that the character is meh.. i mean the game couldhave a great story... but if they invested more time in making the character more unique, i think they would have better chances to make it and not just get founded but being successful...
Well, not trying to throw shade or anything, but the figurine looks a lot like disney infinity ones, and like skylanders (compared to amiibos) the amount of details is like 10-99.. they all have about 5 diferent colors, and the most detailed parts are the eyes in most cases... take the splatoon amiibo.. they have the ink container in the back, even the tshirt has writing on the back.. u can barely see it really, but its there, the shoe laces... all those little details.. people complain about stock, it sucks really.. but if u compare all the "toys to life" figurines, I can see why it takes longer to produce amiibos..(thats only one reason), Im not saying the only one...
@JaxonH I think you are missing the point with online and why people think a game without online should be cheaper. With online, you get a lot of hours of fun after you finished the story.. a game without a solid online mode has a short expiration date, how many times most user will play a campaign, probably just one. So yeah 60 dollars is a lot for a game that will out of the box give you limited fun compared to other games.. also nintendo is known for giving u a lot of content in their games, this is not the case with star fox, so yeah it might be rushed, who knows. please dont take the aprecciation you have for a franchise in mind here, its not star fox, its about every game out there and their prices..
@CaPPa True, my disk might not even work anymore, i might be dead, and many other "mights".. based on facts, probably nintendo will cut the service in favor of you buying a new service, like what happened with Wii's wi-fi. But If i take care of my discs and my sistem i probably will still play those games for a long time, as I play with my super nintendo, nintendo 64, gamecube... thats whas my point kinda, the fact that you are paying full price for a license to use somehting while if u buy a retail copy its yours.. good luck selling a digital copy..
I´m amazed at how people take download only versions so lightly, specially coming from nintendo with their poor infrastructure and policy with downloads. Im super sad that fatal frame is download only, I like what I buy to be mine, specially if I pay full retail price, if its a game i like a lot I wanna come back in lets say 10 years take it out of the boy and still be able to play it. If the console dies, and theres no online version to download it again to a new console u are f*** up! Downloads even tho they have their servers costs, I understand that, should be a third of a retail price.. thats the only way I would be ok with it i guess... so yes, aparently Fatal Frame for me will be 2 chapters and a prologue long!!! yaaay!!
I dont like DLC, call me whatever you want I just dont agree with that business model (from a consumer point of view of course) but I have to agree that the MK8 dlc was epic.. it doubled the amount of courses.. it was like having another version of a full game.. and the price? with free online? you dont see that often...
