@Damo Wow that was pathetic. Did you really just tell me to get a life? Really? That's it? I thought you were better than this @Damo. Can't you come up with something better? You write on the daily. You should be better with words. (Like Fee)

Yeah, you can't actually do that in the game. @Alex_Olney may not have been lying(since you can look at your own character with the gyro after they're defeated) but @Damo (who wrote this article) definitely was.(or just wasn't paying attention) You can't use the gyro to look at your enemy after they're defeated. The camera pans around them automatically and then instantly changes back to either the main game, or your own character's victory pose. So yeah, they lie. Not a big example but it's the first thing that came to mind. I could also mention @ThomasBW84 's article about censorship, but that was probably just ignorance. Oh, there it is. @Ralek85 You're right that we can't 100% say we know their intent but it is very very unlikely it was for anything else. That's why I said 99.9999999-% but to be fair I could have overlooked some other possible meaning behind their removal. Still, very very unlikely.
"In fact, I think going about it this way, betrays the intent of being reasonable and as objective as possible, as it makes it look like the whole 'definiton' was just setup as to basically bash companies for what they are doing - with censorship being a negatively connotated term, no matter how one puts it."
I don't think the definition should have been brought up the way it was by @ThomasBW84. Trying to justify using semantics is pretty ridiculous. That's what I was trying to say in my earlier posts. Arguing that the censorship was acceptable is fine, but trying to argue that it wasn't censorship is worthless and(almost certainly) factually wrong.
@Ralek85 I think I understand what you're saying. Truth be told I had only read like 80% of your first post. (I've read the whole post now. Admittedly I just wanted to rant about definitions some more, and wasn't actually trying to say you're wrong.) I think I skipped the paragraph above and below the one I referred to.
Actually I read this post multiple times because I was honestly a bit confused but I think I understand for real now. I don't think the part about polarization makes much sense. If it was censorship for even one persons sake then it was censorship for the whole. The deciding factor is the intent of the body that brought it over, not the sensibilities of the person receiving the product. In other words if Nintendo removed it because they thought it would be offensive to even one person then it's censorship, even if there was no one in the country that would actually be offended.
Censorship is to examine the product and remove things that are deemed objectionable. If Nintendo deemed something objectionable and removed it for that reason then it's censorship. It doesn't matter what the public thinks. We have to decide Nintendo's thought process to determine whether or not it was censorship.
If I still didn't understand you properly feel free to explain again because I am admitting I was confused.
@Mogster You ignored the posts above yours. You will never learn when it comes to this topic. How about you click on one of the links I posted and read the full definition? Read the bold part? You're really ignorant about this, and since you haven't learned yet I doubt you ever will. I'm just gonna have to remember to ignore you like you ignored me twice.
@LaserMasterA You are not wrong. Don't listen to someone who's completely ignorant about the topic. I corrected him before but he ignored me.
@SirBot: The only misinformed part of your post is that when he said peculiar black liquid he was probably talking about what you called dust. It does look like it could be seen as liquid to me so that's really just the way you two saw it. You're right about everything else though. Including the part about no dismemberment and him being wrong about it being a mature game.
@Ralek85 I just have to say I disagree with you on one point. I say it is 100% objective to say Fire Emblem Fates was censored. It's the literal definition. It's not really up for debate. The only way anyone can argue that it wasn't censorship is if you don't believe that Nintendo removed it for being objectionable. Objectionable includes if they thought it would reduce sales, lower their image, reduce quality, etc. It would obviously be a huge stretch to make that argument. In other words if this isn't censorship then by definition it would mean that they just removed the feature for the heck of it.(Or I guess because of necessity but that's an even bigger stretch. Did they use up so much more of the games data when they translated it to English that the feature would no longer fit on the cartridge? Highly Highly Highly Doubtful)
In other words I only disagree with you because instead of outright stating you're correct, you act like there's room for discussion. Which there isn't. Then again, given the two low low low possibilities I mentioned I guess you can honestly say you're not 100% objective. It's more like 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999(into ****ing infinity)% objective.
I'm just gonna post this here for good and all. Important parts bolded.
cen·soredcen·sor·ing play ˈsen(t)-sə-riŋ, ˈsen(t)s-riŋ
transitive verb
: to examine in order to suppress or delete anything considered objectionable <censor the news>; also : to suppress or delete as objectionable <censor out indecent passages>

verb (used with object)
1.
to put an end to the activities of (a person, body of persons, etc.):
to suppress the Communist and certain left-leaning parties.
2.

3.

4.

5.

6.
to vanquish or subdue (a revolt, rebellion, etc.); quell; crush.
7.
Electricity. to reduce or eliminate (an irregular or undesired oscillation or frequency) in a circuit.
Objectionable
arousing disapproval or great dislike offensive
@ThomasBW84 : "Leave content untouched and cultures can collide and some gamers get confused or, worst case scenario, are offended."
Blatantly admitted it's censorship without realizing it.
Note: I don't believe Dictionary.com is as good of a source as Webster but I used it for the word "suppress". Webster still agrees with the definition just not as clearly, and the definition for suppress was just a bonus anyway, since most of the feature was straight up deleted.
Note: I'm not trying to argue whether this is acceptable censorship or not. I'm not arguing anything in fact.(Actually I am. I just looked up the definition. Pfft.) I'm just outright stating that this is censorship by definition.
Note: Again @ThomasBW84 This editorial was garbage in every way imaginable and I don't usually say that about articles. Heck even if I say something similar I don't usually mean it, but this. Wow you dropped the ball. It's really inexcusable how much this editorial sucks, and not just because you don't know definitions. Pathetic, blatant click whoring without the charm of @Damo. Horrible points, examples, and research. Nothing new brought to the discussion. You're pretty much just repeating a misinformed voice actress and comments sections with a sorry already-been-done attempt at justification. You failed. You just failed. I can't say it enough. A poor attempt. 0/10. No good. No love for this whatsoever. I can't even joke about it like usual. It's just not any good. It's bad. Ugh. Someone help me.
@Bass_X0 Loosing is a word. It's a verb conjugation.(Look it up if you don't believe me) You tried bro, but you should have just told him he used the wrong word rather than saying the word itself didn't exist.
@SomeBitTripFan I don't think calling something like this censorship can be considered justification. It's nothing but factual. Calling it localization to deny the fact that it's censorship is justification. It's true people take advantage of the fact that censorship sounds bad to people, but it's the correct word to use and there would be no reason to swap it out for anything else.
@Nooneinparticular I'm talking too much on this article but I kind of hate when people pull this crap with objectively defined words. If you deny that this is censorship(The full definition, not the partial one you friggin' posers.) you either don't know the definition, or you're straight up lying to people. It's a fact that this is censorship. You can be OK with the censorship but you can't deny that it's censorship. Would you people stop ****ing with my precious words please? I'm not even kidding right now. I hate this crap. Stop propagating dreck. Oh my gosh. I just want to go on a long tirade about this but I don't even have any more of my precious words to use right now. Ugh. Blatant mockery of the English language, and @ThomasBW84 is from the homeland. No good. No good at all.
"I understand that some not all of what I said drifts into subjectivity rather than objectivity"/Misquote
Yes. And the other part is objectively wrong. It's censorship by definition. Arguing it's not is the ridiculous thing. You can say it's OK or not a big deal but it is objectively censorship. Quoting a voice actor doesn't make you any less wrong. Heck you were even wrong about the Fire Emblem feature being available to spouses, since a single poke to wake them is not the same thing as touching to improve relations. All this objective not subjective.
Whatever. I'm not trying to discuss like that anyway. Instead I'm going to talk about how pathetic this article is for its click bait. I knew there would be an editorial. Usually it's amusing but now it's just sad. I still don't mind clicking myself, but don't you have any decency? Holy wow you guys are tumbling down the hill fast.
@ThomasBW84: Blatantly lying to people again. Contemptible.
Alvin and the Chipmunks...Smurfs style...hmm. This new website. I missed this news until now because I was looking at the website weird. Don't ask me how that works.
Oh wow this game. I thought this was a bump of the other article at first but wow. I haven't read the comments yet but I hope people are complaining that it hasn't been fully removed.
@R-L-A-George No. How did you even read that? I'm saying I don't care about artistic integrity and don't care how games are localized if I'm not interested in the game in the first place. For some reason you got hate out of indifference. I need to read my post again to see how that happened.
Ok I guess my wording was a bit weird but your interpretation was even weirder. I was saying I dislike when they remove features because it means they're cowards, and not because it goes against artistic integrity. However, even though I dislike it I don't care enough to skip the game unless it was something I wanted. (Like Lin's Bikini's, and the boob slider in Xenoblade, or even the swimsuits in Fatal Frame.) For example there's talk of changing the Honeybee Inn scene in FFVII remakes to avoid offending people. I don't like that they're changing something to avoid offending people, but I don't care much since it was just some gay(literally homosexual) male scene which never mattered to me in the first place.
@Bass_X0 I'm gonna be semi-blunt.(Semi because I want to be more rude but it's against my code) You're really ridiculous for trying to argue with him about something like that.
@JaxonH I'm kind of like you. I don't like features being removed on principal but I don't really care either way. It's also not for "artistic integrity" or whatever I just don't like cowards. I might have bought this game but I was never that excited so I might not have. Something being removed isn't enough to make me skip a game unless I wanted the thing that was removed(like Xenoblade), and I actually didn't care about this feature. However, the fact that this game has managed to upset everyone for some reason or another. Dang. If it manages to be the best selling Fire Emblem game I'm not sure if I'll be upset, amazed, or amused. That said I'm not planning on getting it just because I'm not that into it. I'm very interested in how it'll do though. I actually expect it to sell pretty well.
@JoeMerrick Did you really you think I wouldn't catch on that you already used that(or at least a very similar) tagline for a previous article in this series? Hah! Gotta catch em' all as it were.
@Dezzy I know right? I've seen hardly anyone who was upset on this article. Like at least 70%(I'm sure it's more like 85% or higher) are all for the removal. It was a bit different on another website I visited though.
Huh. Yeah, seeing the reaction on websites that aren't Nintendo-centric actually leads credence to the Nintendo fanboy argument. Here everyone is in agreement that it was good to remove it. Elsewhere people are a lot more split, though on the website I visited people are mostly just complaining about the lack of Dual Audio. It's funny the different bias you get in different websites. The other one was kind of weab so I wouldn't say they're not fanboys in their own way.
@Ryu_Niiyama : It depends on the contracts doesn't it? Sometimes the Japanese Voice actors have contracts saying their voice can only be used in Japan. Maybe that's how it was this time, or maybe the games are just so much bigger they don't have any space. I don't know.
Funny. I'm 95% positive Xenoblade's censorship reduced sales but this one might have actually increased them. People really hated this feature.
@Giygas_95 I beat some guy on Smashladder who was using Diddy Kong.(I think it was Diddy Kong) I think it was in like Silver which ain't that great but still. I only have 1% usage with Ganondorf on Anther's so I was just trolling but I still won. Thing is, I'm not even that good.
@Caryslan Bruh. Ganondorf is so good when people think he's worse than he is. Just keep doing tilts and air attacks and you can win Evo.
Also you guys are late. I posted and linked and sent in the news tip for these videos over a day ago. And it took you hours to post the article about the release date.(just like I predicted cuz I knew cuz I'm from the future.)
All I have is some stupid hacked shiny mew that I got when I traded my legit shiny Teddiursa cuz I just didn't care about shiny Teddiursa because it looks like bad. Anyway it'll be good to get a legit Mew. One day maybe I can get a legit Groudon too since the one I got from GTS after trading my legit shiny Feebas(actually really easy to get) was some hacked shiny 6IV adamant from the original Gen III. Anyway, I need these event Pokemon to completely complete my Pokedex(already got all the non-events, but unfortunately at least one of them was hacked...) so I will try to remember to get them.
@amiiboacid They should be sure to account for Amiibo inflation as well.
@NintendoFan64 It's already too late. Early January ended two weeks ago and Etika is a lying * at least he should be but he's too much of a * to chop his * off and eat em'.
@Fearful-Octopus It was the most boring 3D Zelda I've ever owned, and the only one I only played through once. It's OK though. It's the most boring 3D Zelda I've played but it wasn't boring, just most boring out of the others, and I'm pretty sure I've played all the others...WW, MM, OT, oh nevermind I never played Skyward Sword.
Actually I've played practically every Zelda game since 2,000. The only ones I haven't played are Skyward Sword, Triforce Heroes, the Oracle games, and Hyrule Warriors which isn't standard Zelda anyway, and other than Four Swords I think I liked Twilight Princess the least. I still liked it though.

Re: Ubisoft Is Trying To Quell Beyond Good And Evil 2 NX Rumours
@RoomB31 :I'm not saying they're lying or even that I think they're lying but I know for sure that they do lie. For example. https://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/3ds/senran_kagura_2_deep_crimson
"for example, defeated characters can be ogled at using the 3DS console's motion sensor,"

Re: Editorial: Game Localisation Isn't Just About Preserving The 'Pure' Original
Re: Editorial: Game Localisation Isn't Just About Preserving The 'Pure' Original
Re: Editorial: Game Localisation Isn't Just About Preserving The 'Pure' Original

Blatantly admitted it's censorship without realizing it.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/suppress
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/suppress
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/objectionable
Re: Video: Snazzy New Trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Shows Off Visuals and Features
@Spin Henpecked. -Shakes head in disapproval-
Game still looks slightly better. Cool. I do kind of want to play this game again, but I almost definitely won't get it.
Re: Soapbox: Bayonetta Deserves to be in Super Smash Bros.
@chewytapeworm No he doesn't. "Geez, it just an o-" I don't care. Your opinion is wrong.
Re: Editorial: Game Localisation Isn't Just About Preserving The 'Pure' Original
Re: Editorial: Game Localisation Isn't Just About Preserving The 'Pure' Original
Re: Editorial: Game Localisation Isn't Just About Preserving The 'Pure' Original
Why are you people so predictable?
Re: Let's Clarify Exactly How the Fire Emblem Fates 'Skinship' Mode Works in North America
@JaxonH =/ Are you the guy that bought all the Rosalina Amiibo?
Re: Sonic The Hedgehog Movie Confirmed For 2018 Release
Alvin and the Chipmunks...Smurfs style...hmm. This new website. I missed this news until now because I was looking at the website weird. Don't ask me how that works.
Re: Let's Clarify Exactly How the Fire Emblem Fates 'Skinship' Mode Works in North America
Oh wow this game. I thought this was a bump of the other article at first but wow. I haven't read the comments yet but I hope people are complaining that it hasn't been fully removed.
Re: Site News: Welcome To The Brand New Nintendo Life!
Eww. Well OK whatever it's not bad, but so not simple like it should be.
Re: Here's Exactly What Has Changed With Fire Emblem Fates' "Skinship" Petting Mode
Re: Here's Exactly What Has Changed With Fire Emblem Fates' "Skinship" Petting Mode
Re: Feature: A Pokémon Retrospective: Generation 6 - 2013 to ????
@JoeMerrick Did you really you think I wouldn't catch on that you already used that(or at least a very similar) tagline for a previous article in this series? Hah! Gotta catch em' all as it were.
Re: Random: Don't Forget to Celebrate Mewtwo's Birthday
@BurningSonic Seems you inherited Transform.
Re: Random: Don't Forget to Celebrate Mewtwo's Birthday
@BurningSonic You're mewthree!? I thought you were an urban legend.
@ScottVandagriff You're @BurningSonic 's Mom!?
Re: Here's Exactly What Has Changed With Fire Emblem Fates' "Skinship" Petting Mode
Re: Here's Exactly What Has Changed With Fire Emblem Fates' "Skinship" Petting Mode
@Kevlar44 : You can't rub them in that game.

Re: Video: See How Far The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has Come Since the Wii & GameCube
Oh wow, it's slightly improved.
Re: Video: See Bayonetta & Corrin Smash it up in Super Smash Bros.
Bayonetta kinda sucks at first impression. She's fun to play though.
Re: Gallery: Gear Up for the Final Super Smash Bros. DLC With Some Screens and Videos
Re: Gallery: Gear Up for the Final Super Smash Bros. DLC With Some Screens and Videos
@Plateface You're just bad with Zelda. =[
Re: Reminder: The Current-Gen Mew Special Distribution is Underway
Re: Nintendo Confirms Bayonetta, Corrin & Final Mii Costume DLC in Super Smash Bros. for 3rd February
@amiiboacid They should be sure to account for Amiibo inflation as well.
@NintendoFan64 It's already too late. Early January ended two weeks ago and Etika is a lying * at least he should be but he's too much of a * to chop his * off and eat em'.
Re: Rumour: Data Miners Find Evidence That Suggests New Splatoon amiibo Are Coming
@Mr_Action Actually what you're smelling is...nevermind.
Re: Rumour: Data Miners Find Evidence That Suggests New Splatoon amiibo Are Coming
@CharlieSmile Same...well not $50 but I'd definitely buy them if I could get them early.
Also we've got a release date for Bayonetta and Corrin. February 4th in Japan.
NOTE: I don't have a source. I came from the future. Just wait 5 days or a few hours and find out.

Re: Wii Street U Service Being Discontinued In March, Leaving eShop This Month
@ShanaUnite I agree.
Re: Video: Nintendo's Latest Story Trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Sets the Scene
