Big deal everything went smoothly after they extended the session. That's because most people had already given up; I know I did after trying for to 55 minutes. I didn't know they had extended the session until the next day, and why would anyone have a reasonable expectation that they would. So don't go patting Nintendo on the back for getting it right for a paltry few.
I sure hope they fix the fact that when you use an item on someone the person keeps right on going; this happens too often. I'll have star and hit the person three or for times and the person is alongside me. Or if you hit person with a shell or boomerang and they still keep going. Love the idea of the bringing the map back on the screen.
I am surprise that they didn't mention your rank/level score is what really matters in the end. The higher the score, the greater your chances no matter the customization.
Okay, I guess I am one of the few that likes TVii. This best thing about TVii is using it to watch sports. You can comment on the play by play with other viewers and they take polls, Ex( who is better passer in the NFL). They also have a game where they ask questions to see if you can predict what going to happen next. For example, its 3rd and 4, will the offense run the ball or pass (NFL for all those outside the US), or will the offense score on this drive. You get to compete against other viewers and at the end the viewer with the highest score wins. For the Super Bowl the winner received a special Super Bowl Jersey from Nintendo. I use it to watch baseball and basketball from time to time. The play by play for the World Cup is pretty good too. I guess everyone pretty much knows it does the same for TV programming. It was kind of fun using it while watching the "Marvels Agents of Shield" this season. Some the comments people made where pretty amusing and some of the drawings on the "moments" were pretty amazing.
What I also like about TVii is you can use it while you're watching TV to review your local TV guide on the gamepad without interfering with what you're watching on the screen. If you want to watch another show instead of the one you're currently watching just touch the show on the guide and your TV will change the channel. As for the update, I really don't like it. I like the complicated UI better. I don't understand why Nintendo doesn't talk about it more. I have XBOX 360 and I must say I like TVii entertainment interface much better.
Just because digital foundry came to this conclusion does not make it so. I would be interested in seeing the methodology they use to reach this conclusion and if their results can be duplicated. I know this is just a gaming site and most people rarely question what their told, but it would have been helpful if they provide a link that would provide this information. Nullis In Verb, words to live by.
@faint I indeed understand that it is fantasy, but it is representation of the world, note the human characters and environment for the reasons I previously gave in other post. But I do not believe Nintendo is being racist by not including a diverse cast. I also disagreed with LGBT community on changing Tomodachi.
I really do not want to talk about race on gaming site. But what the heck it seems to be the topic of discussion. Some people are purposely trying to misunderstand the author's point. He is talking about exclusion. Exclusion in American was part of the institution of racism and is still goes on today. However the author fails to understand that the sordid past of America which shaped his/her worldview did not exist in Japan. So therefore they are not sensitive to it, or are aware of the problem he/she sees.
I don't believe Nintendo is being racist. In Japan they don't have the same issues regarding race as we do. Here we have a very diverse population, however our history on the issue of race has been horrific and bloody. The author views reflects this (assuming he is an American). In Japan they're oblivious to it--its not even a thought. Their expressiveness reflect this.
@faint "How can you complian about race issues in a game with a green talking dinosaur and a ape that wears a monogrammed tie"
I cannot tell if you're serious or not, but I hope that it is the latter. Firstly the characters you mentioned are not human. The author clearly makes this distinction, "Of the 29 drivers, 14 are human (including Toad and Toadette)". Again, forgive me if you're being coy, but if you aren't and actually believe that a talking"dinosaur" and "ape" is fair representation of a diverse global population, then maybe the author has point.
"Early research conducted showed health benefits were present in the lab, but when placed in people’s homes, the novelty of it all quickly wore off". So its not saying the exercises on the WiiFitU are not effective, its saying that people just get bored with it. This could be said of any piece workout equipment one purchases. So the headline is incorrect. I for one have the WiiFit U and the Wii U Fit Meter. I dare any one to try the push-up workout and the plank workout and tell me its not "real exercise" or any of the yoga workouts for that matter. Getting fit is about consistency and good eating habits. And I might add, the Wii FitU meter is definitely a motivator.
Very well thought out observations. I agree with pretty much everything the author has said. I attribute poor marketing for the less than stellar sales of Wii U. The commercial that I've seen just don't get one excited about purchasing the console.
All of the major retailers, Best Buy, Toys r u, Walmart, Kmart, Gamestop and Sears are reporting that pre-orders are sold out. Damn I feel lucky I was able to get the Black Deluxe 32g version. I saw some listed for $1500 on Ebay.

@absuplendous Yeah I've seen that inane point about Mario being Italian made over and over again as though some profound point is being made.

@absuplendous I forgot to mention that point. The author never mentions black people.
